Was wondering if it was possible to add factory mirrors with the blinkers on them to my 2014 xl? My mirrors don't have them and I'd like to have them. If so, I could just buy a set and plug them into a harness in the door?
View 12 RepliesI have just bought on 09 XLT, and wouldn't you know it, I was behind a Lariet that made a left hand turn, and then I saw something my truck does not have... the turn signal LED at the bottom left hand side of it's mirror. And guess what? Now I want that too! I have seen some other threads about this on other web sites, but as far as I am concerned, this site is the last word on anything Ford truck! I have a couple of questions:
What is the Ford part # for the mirror turn signal lights? Also I would like to install the reflectors in front of the mirrors so I can add LEDs to them too. What is the part numbers for the front reflectors? And lastly, I would like to try not to tear up more than I need too, so would there already be the turn signal wires I could connect inside the mirror housing? Or since this does not have that option from the factory am I going to have to take the mirror off the truck and run those myself?
Bought some power tow mirrows, aftermarket, any special on installing?

I just got an XLT with basic power door mirrors, I'd like to swap to power mirrors with the blinkers. The million dollar question is, does the truck already have the correct wiring harness for a "plug-and-play" or is the wiring not there for the blinkers?

View 14 RepliesMy 2011 F150 did not come with Keyless Entry so I purchased Fords alternative which is a number pad that sticks to the door above the handle and acts basically like a key fob.cI asked my dealer if I just purchased the new door handles with the keyless built in if they can just add the module to the board and connect it. Faster than I could finish the service Manager said no with out even discussing it. I'd really like to do this if it is somehow possible. My parts guys is going to try and get service to call Ford Tech but he didn't have a lot of faith that they would.

View 2 RepliesI'd like to disable my rear window defroster but keep my heated mirrors. Reason being I don't won't my rear window to explode when I turn it on. I have a 2011 bought a couple of months ago. Could I pull the fuse and still have the mirrors on? I rarely use the back window as I use to side mirrors. Drive a 18 wheeler for a living.
View 14 RepliesAfter installing the autospring 2" Leveling kit and the rear add a leaf 1.5" I was wondering if its at all possible to add a slight steel plate between the spacers and rear leaf to get just a little more lift.
I have access to our shop where I can get the steel and get it cut and drilled accurately, just wondering if this will cause any issues be adding additional plate?
Like for the front add it between the spacer and strut and in the back, when when I was adding the new leaf it had some shims I guess in between the leafs, so just curious if I could add the plate under the leafs?
My driver mirror has small clip failed, only way is a new mirror. I found a pair of mirrors with heat like mine BUT they have the turn signal.
View 9 RepliesI have 2010 f350 and everything works while key is turned on. When you crank the truck I lose power to windows, radio, mirrors, blinkers and instrument panel. When I drive the truck and give it gas everything works. Let off the gas and I lose everything. Sometimes after about 20 minutes of hey driving it will stay on. Also when first starting the truck the gear selector won't let you out it in gear. After about 30 seconds it will go
View 1 RepliesI bought a used 2013 F150 Limited. The truck only had 24,000 miles on it and is still under the 36/36 warranty.
I tried to use the rear defroster and the button never stayed on. As I started to investigate the truck through the owners manual I realized that it was supposed to come with heated mirrors, standard equipment on the limited, and it shows them on the VIN build out. It does not have the heated mirrors installed.
I take it to my local dealer to get the rear defroster fixed and have the mirrors installed and the dealer won't do it. I have to call Ford and open a case. I do this and Ford rejects my claim since I bought it used.
To me this shows a very poor business ethic and is disrespectful to a long time loyal Ford customer. To be honest this has really ticked me off and completely turned me off towards Ford.
I thought I saw someone had converted the reflectors on the front of the side mirrors to turn signal flashers on the 2010-2012 F150. Where I can find that write up?

I just bought a 2001 F250 XLT and it came with the standard power paddle mirrors. I would love to add the towing mirrors (preferably heated with signals), but what I am wondering is if the connectors for the mirrors are the same. Also would my truck that came with the standard paddle mirrors be wired for turn signals and heated options? How would I test for this? Also do all XLT's come prewired for the hardwire keyless entry pad if they have keyless entry?

I know it is a lazy person question but with automatic seats and mirror/peddle position wouldn't automatic folding also be a good idea?
