I have a 2013 Lariat 4x4 and was switching in and out of auto four wheel drive the other day. Now I have it in 2 wheel drive and there seems to be a funny vibration from the front wheels when I drive down the road.

View 2 RepliesWent to change the front brake pads on my 2010 F150 today which has 80,000 miles on it and is 2wd. Prior to taking the wheels off we noticed that it takes both hands grabbing the wheel and a significant amount of umph to get them to spin. As soon as you let go of the wheel it stops moving.
While changing the pads we didn't see anything that seemed misaligned or incorrect. The pistons compressed with ease on both calipers. However we did have to fight to remove the inside pad on both wheels.
After re-install wheels back on, they are still just as hard to try to spin. Is this normal if not what could be the problem and could this be affecting my MPG which i get 18.0....
I have a 2010 F-150 Lariat 4X4 and the front wheels get brake dust and rust staining on them. What is the best wheel cleaner to use to get rid of this? I thought about muratic acid but am afraid of damaging the finish on the wheels.
View 7 RepliesJust bought my 2013 Ford F150 Supercrew 4x4 on Saturday. I noticed a vibration at 35 to 45 mph. Its a slight vibration, the whole truck kind of shakes. Really annoying for a truck with less than 200 miles.

View 14 RepliesI have a vibration sound coming from just under my feet. Its not all the time, but about twice a week itll start. Wont stop until ive parked and turned off the truck. The vibration intensifies with speed of the road, not RPM. Stops when the truck is stopped, then picks back up as soon as i go. It usually stops or atleasts gets a lot quieter when i get to highway speeds.
Now, it will only make the sound in 2H, when i switch to 4H/4L, the sound completely disappears. But as soon as I put it back into 2H, it starts right back up.
I drive a 2013 F150, 33000KM and has a level kit. Any thoughts?
I'm looking to upgrade the front brakes on my F150. I'm looking at either EBC or Hawk for pads and rotors. What is everyone's thoughts on these brands?
View 14 RepliesI have noticed recently that I have a "rubbing" noise and vibration coming from the right front wheel on my FX4. It is most noticeable from 5-10 MPH, and more pronounced when turning right. it is not constant. It sounds almost like a brake pad rubbing on a badly warped, wet rotor. It goes away when I apply the brakes. I am thinking bearing or possible CV joint.
The dealer can't get it in until Tuesday, and they say I will have to pay the deductible on the ESP, even if it is related to the steering vibration they could not replicate or fix about a month ago. I am seriously considering going to another dealer for my service. Given, they did absorb the deductible last time, but they didn't fix the problem!
I just went to Steamboat this weekend which requires driving over two mountain passes in a snow storm...I only go if it is snowing. This was the first trip with my new 2013 FX4 and the front wheel wells filled up with so much ice that the wheels would rub after a bump in the road. The mountain roads do have lots of frost heaves so this would happen fairly often. The ice was all around the wheel well with a huge build up behind the wheel. It also covered the step rails. Would mud flaps do anything to preovent this build up? Or any other tricks?. Otherwise the truck did fine...
View 12 RepliesBought a 2013 FX4 two weeks ago to replace my 94 F150 and got to enjoy it for a whole 10 days before I got rear ended at a stop light. The car hit me doing between 30-40, fast enough to make her airbags go off, and it was hard enought to force the bed to hit the cab. Unfortunately, the damage is more than cosmetic body work. The bottom of the bed is pushed up under the bedliner and the frame is bent in front of where the leaf spring connects. My concern is that the adjuster will want to "fix" the frame and I will be stuck with a lifetime of alignment issues, suspension issues, etc. I know the rear of the frame is not as much an issue as if the front was bent, but I don't know how they could fix it without cutting it and welding in a new piece, and how can I know that the frame is true?
View 14 RepliesI recently puchased a 2012 F-150 with the "ecoboost" engine. Recently I've been noticing an odor of what seems to be like rubber burning coming from the rear end of the truck.
It's very prominent when I stomp the gas pedal, with the traction control disabled especially. There's quite a bit of smoke coming from the rear, and the truck seems to over-accelerate for a V6. Should I take it to the dealer for repair?
I have a 2010 F-150 Lariat and from the salted snow and slushy roads I have rust stains on the wheels. It is not severe and I dont think the wheels are steel but I would like to remove the rust stains without damaging the wheels.

noticed at 8k miles i started getting a vibration from the front wheels on my new camry [2014]. feels like typical warped rotor. i could understand if the car were being driven hard but its not. now at 8.5k the vibration is getting worse. Who manufactures a good quality drilled and slotted rotor ? also the dipstick tube at the block [4cyl] is leaking oil. has been repaired by toyota twice already and leaking again.
View 10 RepliesMy 08 passat seems to shutter or vibrate at higher and lower speeds. It comes from the wheels(front). At first I thought my wheels aren't balanced, but the VW dealership said everything is fine.???huh.. they roadtested it and nothing...but others that drive with me totally notice it..Major road noise because of it.
They also sold me winter tires and rims and they wore out after 25k same noise?... "Broken beads".... they said i hit a pot hole.. I don't think so.... So what do you think? Rotors? if so how much am i gonna get jacked ..
I heard that 13,14 had this issue my 15 GS is having this issue as well. Clicking noise is coming from front wheels It's like few clicks in a row when turning the wheel left / right.
Is there a DYI fix. Don't want to take to dealer they might duplicate the problem. It's not such an issue but when window is down I hear it kind of makes me wonder why a $60k car is making those noises.
The front wheels on my 04 accent has a slight vibration ( it's so slight that you don't notice it ) when driving at any speed . if I let go of the steering wheel , it wobbles back and forth . I also sometimes get a vibration on the steering wheel at high speeds when braking which feels like a rumble on a game controller .
View 3 RepliesThe last issue I have to tackle with the GS450h is a knocking sound coming from what seems the front wheels and mostly the right wheel. This is when driving over a ditch or uneven road like a cobblestone road.
This issue was present before the RSR down sus springs were installed (i.e. in factory setup) but has since gotten more obvious, probably due to the more rigid suspension. Initially I thought it may have been the brake pads, however when braking harder (beyond regenerative braking system) it remains present. So I think the brakes can be ruled out.
The suspension and wheel setup have been checked by the Lexus dealer three times now and by a suspension specialist. None of them could find a thing wrong with it. What it may be?
I have a 2010 F150 Lariat 4x4 with the 5.4. It has around 63,000 miles on it. I purchased this truck last winter and recently have noticed a pretty heavy vibration when the AC is running. It only vibrates when I am at a stop. If I apply a little throttle the vibration seems to go away or it goes away if I shift to neutral. The vibration is not violent but it is above average and I would definitely not consider it normal AC vibration.
View 14 RepliesI have a 09 s crew with 6 1/2' bed also. Lariat, Max tow package (most of the cool toys) I bought it certified pre-owned in April of 2011.
My vibration is between 35 and 45 mph. Not felt in the steering wheel but all the seats feel it. Set the cruise at 40 mph and it will drive you nuts.Dealer has had it a couple days for this and all they have found was a sticky rear u-joint.
I am at 35,500 miles so I am thinking about just dropping it off and saying keep it till you find the problem.
