May 15, 2016
My new to my 2013 f150 needs the terminal replaced due to corrosion. Need the p/n for just the terminal not the whole cable.

View 2 RepliesGot new batteries installed yesterday and found that the passenger side battery has a nearly broken positive terminal. Had to handle it very gently.
Don't want to replace the entire battery cable just to get the terminal. Using bolt-on replacement terminals? What did you go with and where can it be found?
Car details : 2005 Camry V6
I was replacing the dead battery in my car. While disconnecting positive terminal cables, top cable going to relay/ fuse box side was broken around the lug.Looks like power cable for fusebox or something. I have 2 cables connecting to the positive terminal and only one is broken.
1.If this particular cable can be bought independently , if yes what is the part number . Can I buy this at any local store ? .
Confusion is, all I see is one cable listed on part schematic which seems to be the second cable.
2. Couldn't find any DIYs with pictures to replace this cable, as currently I can only see half of the cable . Don't know where other end goes.
Now my car is sitting duck with me taking a cab to go to work.
When I pull the tail light out of my 12 F150 there is a blue/wht wire and a black wire going to the back up light. I assume the blue wire is the positive and black is the ground. Is that correct? I also posted this in the wiring section.
View 6 RepliesSo, I cleaned out my car yesterday and I noticed a bit of corrosion around the terminals on my battery. I just wanted to know if it is actually bad and how I should clean it.
View 11 RepliesI bought a 2013 f150 last Saturday. It had battery corrosion on the positive side of the battery and on the battery cable end. The dealer agreed to replace the battery and the cable end which they did. Every thing was fine until today when the battery light came on. It stayed on for a few min and then went off. I had the battery and alternator checked at the local parts store. They checked out good. Why a light if everything checks out good?
View 6 RepliesI'm pretty new to working on cars let alone a diesel truck, so this could well be something simple and / or dumb. Hopefully it is.
Batteries recently replaced. Started cleaning terminals on driver side and realized I needed a couple of fasteners. Between getting them, the weather going bad and getting sick that battery was unconnected for several days, truck not driven.
Finished cleaning the terminals this afternoon, went to connect the positive cables and they're sparking. Driver side negative cable is unattached. Neither of the two positive cables sparks when touching positive battery post alone. They only spark when they are brought together.
I'm not near my stuff--is the battery cable terminal bolt 8mm?
View 14 RepliesI was changing out the hydroboost and left the passenger battery connected, the positive terminal on the driver side sparked and now the trucks having a hard time starting? What should I check? Fuse or somthing else
View 12 RepliesI just installed a new positive cable set for the dual battery's and the starter checks out good.
View 5 RepliesUnhooked battery on 2011 truck. I unhooked mine today then installed my magnaflow exhaust. then i hooked the battery back up. And now my battery light comes on when i turn the key ahead. my sync doesn't work, i push the button and it won't say listening. and when i turn the key off the stereo won't stay on, it says it's shutting the system down to save the battery. i am going to take it in on monday to see if they can fix it. i just hope it isn't my fault. Any certain way of disconnecting it.
View 14 RepliesRecently my 2nd gen Prius has been acting, strange. I hoping to get some insight to the best way to fix the problem, so I will include as much detail as I can.
Over the weekend I went to go run some errands and while I was leaving my neighborhood, my dash lit up like a Christmas tree, with the red triangle, CEL, low tire pressure, and the exclamation on the MFD. So I quickly turned around and parked it back in my garage.
A little later and after doing some research on the forum here, I began to troubleshoot, at which point the feeling of dread was at the pit of my stomach and decided to go to the local auto store and have the code read. It was of course the "P0A80 - Replace Hybrid Battery Pack" the exact message I didn't want it to be.
So I turned around and went back home, the entire time all the lights stayed on and monitored the SOC of the traction battery. It was charging, just increasing and decreasing quicker than usual.
After replacing one of the HV batteries defective out of the 28 in my Gen 2, I reinstalled a working battery and the car won't start. With the car turned on, I went ahead and measured current on the HV battery side and get 220, and on the car side terminals there is no power. The service switch is working correctly and engaged. For some reason the voltage is not being relayed to the car side.
View 9 RepliesWhile reinstalling my battery after working on my 94 sentra my negative battery cable melted my negative terminal.
I installed the positive first then went to do the negative and huge spark/smoke and I see my terminal melted on the one side.
What might be causing this?
Having problem with corrosion of the tie down on a battery? The terminals are fine. It's just the metal plate that holds the battery in place with bolts. The paint has corroded off. I clean it up and cover it with dielectric grease. I have to do this every 4 to 6 months or so, because the corrosion keeps coming back. I had the same problem with my 2004 Subaru Legacy, and had to replace the battery holder as a result.
View 1 Replies2005 Prius shows a C1241 code, which can mean abnormally high or low positive voltage in the auxiliary battery. In my case it appears to be abnormally high, because my voltmeter showed the battery charged to 18 volts with the car off, and when running it showed 20 volts going to the battery. There's also a POA80 code (hybrid battery pack) but I'm not convinced yet that it's a hybrid battery problem. What would cause the overcharging of the auxiliary battery?
View 8 RepliesI'm thinking about removing my perfectly functioning HV Battery to inspect it for corrosion and clean if necessary. I read so many posts both here and elsewhere that talk about corrosion being the number one reason Gen I HV Batteries fail. With that in mind, does it make sense to clean the corrosion off the battery (and related components) in an effort to extend the life of the battery.
The car is an '01 with 109,XXX miles, original traction battery, new 12V battery. The car has been very good to me (I believe that's due to steadfast preventative maintenance). There are no error codes and really nothing to complain about.
I've got the hybrid battery out of the car and there is a decent amount of corrosion/acid on the copper contacts. I read that after cleaning them off with white vinegar and soaking in a baking soda/warm water mix... They spray some type of anti-corrosion spray on them.
View 7 RepliesWe got a certified used 370Z about 4-5 months ago from a Nissan dealership. The car was great until we happened to look underneath at around the 3 month mark and noticed that there was a TON of corrosion under the front passenger side. We had not even had the oil changed in the car- it was exactly as it was when we got it from the dealer. We took it back to them, and they said the battery had been overfilled and had leaked all over the car. Now it is in with them, and they say they have to remove the engine in order to sandblast it. They also happened to mention that they wish they had caught it before because if they had they never would have certified it.
View 13 RepliesSo I was wondering if I could get everyone's input on this. I recently got a 2013 FX2 5.0 with the 3.55 axle. I traded in a 2007 5.4 FX2. It seems everyday I learn something new. I would like to discuss the difference between both trucks. I will list a few DIFFRENCES and if you all could list a few more that would be great....I am sure there are some I don't know.
5.0 motor, 6 speed transmission, Electronic locking rear end, Electronic fans versus clutch fan system, Bigger rotors/ brakes, electronic power steering, no fuel cap, Power fold mirrors and I ASSUME I can remove these spark plugs without breaking them.
When should I get the first oil change in our 2013 F150 5.0? We took a 1,000 mile trip right after getting the truck. It's been two weeks and I have put around 1,600 miles on the truck.
Also, how often is everyone getting regular oil changes with the 5.0?
