I just bought a 2013 F150 STX with a 5.0. I love the truck, but I can't get the back up lights to work. Checked all the fuses, and changed out a few relays with no luck.
View 9 RepliesI have a 2013 5.0 and every time I change the oil filter the oil runs out the front and back of the cross member. That welded on oil catch plate doesn't work. The suspension is stock and I'm wondering if I lift the rear of the truck with a floor jack will it get the oil from the filter all run out the front of that catch plate?
View 9 RepliesHow bout this one, both reverse lights flash with left signal. Also with 4 ways on, and will come on steady with brake applied. Unplugged 7 pin at factory conn on left frame, no change. Found and removed L trailer turn relay , no change. Looking for a fuse diagram for an 09 ?
View 2 RepliesMy wife came in the house the other day and told me my lights were on. When I went out to see, they were not. I chalked this up to the sun reflecting on the truck. Later I was working in the driveway and saw them come on, they stayed on for a minute then went back off. Strangest thing I have ever seen. The keys were hanging on the hook in the house. I checked the light switch and it was in Auto. I moved the switch to Off. Later that night I saw it happen again. They came on for a second them right back off. This is a 2010 F-150 4x4 Lariat. I have about 120K miles. What might be causing this or steps I can take to narrow the troubleshooting?
View 3 RepliesFor my 2013 with HID lights, I'm adding a light bar, and trying to find a good wire to tap into so I can wire in a relay to turn the light bar on with my high beams. As it's going to a relay, I originally thought to use a fuse tap, but the high beam fuse is always powered. Any other wire I can use in the cab?
I'm also looking for an in cab wire for the reverse lights I'm adding. I've been trying to make sense of the wiring diagrams online, but I am not having any success.
Recently picked up a 2013 F150 XLT. Reasonably basic truck. Supercab, 2wd, 5.0L, 6 speed, trailer towing package with brake controller......
We are about to head out on a 2 week camping trip. We will be at one site for the entire 2 weeks, and the truck will be driven very little during that time. Problem is that numerous people go in and out of the truck many times per day, x2 weeks. My previous tow vehicle had a means for turning off the interior lights during the daytime, when the doors would be constantly opening and closing.
This truck has interior lights and exterior lights and puddle lights and probably lights I don't even know about that come on and stay on for about 15-20 seconds every time the door opens. It has a funky rocker switch, that I hate, for the dash lights, that doesn't seem to turn off the interior lights. (I forgot the owners manual for the truck at a relatives place a week ago, so I can't check in there). Is there a way to manually keep the lights off during the day to save my battery?
I have a 2013 FX4 (crew cab) and cannot figure out how to turn on the courtesy lights! I can get them to work individually by pressing the edge of the lights, but I believe the dimmer switch to the left of the steering wheel should turn them all on (both front and back).
The manual says to push the dash dimmer switch until they come on, but that does not work! An acquaintance has a 2103 Lariat and he can turn his on using the switch, but no luck for me. I was looking in some of my literature I saved when I bought the truck thinking this feature may have been buried in some package that I did not get. Am I missing something?
on my '13 STX, when you press the "unlock" button on the remote, the running lights come on and stay on for a while. It does this when I open the door as well. Is there a way to disable this? I really have no need for this feature and it will burn the bulbs out sooner.

View 14 RepliesIt's abnormally cold here in the Northern Va area single digits with windchills in the negatives. I ran through the car wash, one of those that hand dries it afterwards to get the salt off my truck. After running the roads I went to back in to a spot and the sensors are going off. Nothing is blocking them so I'm thinking water got inside and froze?
View 4 RepliesSo when I got my car a couple months ago there was this problem where the backup camera wouldn't come on every now and then when I shifted into reverse so I decided to get it fixed under warranty. the dealership said the problem had to do with the whole infotainment system or something so they gave me a whole new center console and navigation screen for some reason but after I got my car back a couple days ago it was working fine up until today where the back up camera won't even come on at all anymore. I've driven the car about 5 different times today and the backup camera never came on once.
View 3 RepliesMy 2010 f150 with non sync non sony radio w sat cd. Its been losing power this past year. It would just cut out than come back on. The settings would be reset, but not lose station presets. The other day it got stuck on the f150 logo on the display. No radio or other function would work. Pushed power button and nothing. Started an hour later it worked normally. I do have aftermarket amps, but their direct to battery.
View 4 Replies2012 f150 5.0 liter....Every morning when I leave for work I back out of my drive way and when I push in the breaks they are super squeaky. When I got my tires rotated the dealer said breaks were fine. I noticed my neighbors f150 Eco boost does the same things but not as loud. When the breaks are warm it doesn't do it. Can this be prevented it wakes up my parents in the morning.
View 8 RepliesRecently had a coworker point out that my truck was making funny noises while it was backing up. It is a 2013 f150. It almost sounds like metal grinding to me. It does not do it while going forward either.
Have been underneath and can't notice anything out of place, although I'm not sure I'd notice if there was.
I have a 2012 Ford F 150 crew cab 4x 4 and have a problem it squeals in reverse. Brakes too and it's only in reverse and it's only for a short period of time as soon as I come to a complete stop.....
View 7 RepliesI have a 2010 Ford Raptor and lately I have been hearing some rattles coming from the back seat. I am about 99% sure it's from the rear window... Not positive, but when I listen for the sound that's where it comes from. It's very faint on normal road and rattles after every bump or pothole I hit. I am still under warranty but I don't want to take it to ford unless I have to. I have spent hours on end looking for solutions online but I can't find anything that's my exact problem.
View 4 RepliesI recently bought a 09 F150 Screw short box. I just hooked it up to my camper for the first time and was measuring height on the corners of the truck to check my WD hitch. I noticed that the driver's side was higher than the passenger's side in the back of my truck. I checked again without the camper on some level ground and found the same thing - approximately 1 1/4" difference at the wheel wells and about 3/4" at the frame. I can't believe that this would be normal, so trying to figure out what happened here - maybe it got rear-ended?
View 6 RepliesI have a 2014 ecoboost F150 xlt. Yesterday while driving the dash display just blinked off then back on. Truck continued working normally while the screen was off. Only happened once but it was fairly worrisome as it was at the start of our 5 hour return drive.
View 2 RepliesI have a 2012 F-150 STX 4x4 with the 5.0 liter. I have noticed that when I put my truck in to reverse and sometimes drive I get a click sound. I jacked up the truck thinking it was the drive shaft that was loose but it wasn't... But I believe it is coming from the rear end. I found a video of the sound on youtube.

Does the Ford emblem/camera just pop off the tailgate with a screw driver? Pry from top or bottom? I'm trying not to break anything here. I removed the tailgate panel inside and can't get any access there.
Both the camera and reverse sensors have quit working. I'm troubleshooting both but I'm not sure they are related. The camera died first but worked sometimes after slamming the tailgate. Sensors quit sometime after. Don't really care about the sensors but the camera is essential for hooking up the trailers.
I was hoping the wiring from the tailgate to the plug would be cut but that doesn't appear to be the case. I'd like to check the camera itself next. Ohm it out or something, I don't know.
