Ford F-150 (2009-2014) :: 2013 FX4 - Light Thump That Would Fade At Times

I am looking at 2013 FX4 with the 5.0 that has 127,000 miles. Truck is pretty clean cosmetically except for the inside of the bed which is pretty rough. When I went to look at the truck I was curious to hear it on initial start up and it was really quiet. I have never heard in person the dreaded knock of the 5.0, only on youtube. After the truck idled for 10min while we talked I did kinda start to hear a little deep but very light thwump, thwump, thwump but it would fade at times and you wouldn't hear anything. I never heard it while I drove the truck. I know there are prob millions of these motors out there and the internet may make it seem worse than it is but would it scare you to buy a 2013 with 127K? I had thought originally that the 2011-2012 were the years with the problems but the latest 5.0 knock thread has me wondering.

I am having a strange issue with my truck. It is a f150 2009 xlt ext cab 4x4 5.4 liter
For the past 2 weeks I've had this light thump about 1 or 2 seconds after the truck starts driving,not really annoying but it kinda got me wondering
Since last week it makes a weird scraping noise from the rear end when coming to a stop (10-0 kmh) it doesn't do it all the time though
For a couple days now it makes this terrible squeaking/scratching/whatever(very loud) noise from the rear end when i accelerate from a dead stop, the one time when i crossed a highway, last night when i backed out of a parking spot (again not all the time).
Also when driving through a parking lot,hitting a few bumps and dips I can hear a rattling noise coming from underneath the truck.
Transfer case due for replacement? I don't know what this could be.....

I have notice maybe a dozen times in the last few weeks that my 2013 5.0 Screw downshifts at odd times. It usually occurs while coasting around 35-40 mph (in 4th gear and downshifts to 2nd gear) or around 50 mph (in 5th gear and downshifts to 3rd gear). Obviously when this occurs, the rpms jump and when I get into the gas, the truck takes a few seconds to accelerate because it first must shift into the next higher gear. What is causing this?

I bought a 2013 f150 last Saturday. It had battery corrosion on the positive side of the battery and on the battery cable end. The dealer agreed to replace the battery and the cable end which they did. Every thing was fine until today when the battery light came on. It stayed on for a few min and then went off. I had the battery and alternator checked at the local parts store. They checked out good. Why a light if everything checks out good?

I have a 2013 F150 STX with an air bag light that comes on randomly, I have had the truck in 3 times so far to get it checked out and they keep replacing a sensor in the driver door. Part number BL3Z 14B345A. The sensor has been replaced twice so far and the light still comes on randomly. I took the truck in again on 11/17/2015 and was told to bring it back when the light is on and stays on. I think we all know that if the light comes on and I do manage to get it to the service department during business hours that I will not be rushed to the front of the line and they will park the truck turn off the ignition and the light will go out.
The truck also has a couple of other little glitches. Every once in awhile at start up the radio will just pop or crackle through the speakers this will last for about 2 blocks then the radio works fine after that. The speakers will also cut out randomly while sitting at a stop light. I guess since Ford don't know how to fix there trucks. The truck is still under warranty but it is getting close to the mileage cutoff.

Yesterday had a issue with my new truck, (less than 2500 miles), pulled up to a stop sign and the low oil pressure warning light came on and truck just died and wouldn't start back up, checked oil and put some in and it still wouldn't start, called Ford roadside asst. and right before they showed up it started. Still had it towed to dealership and they're still looking at!!! It's got the 5.0

Noticed on my wife's 2013 F150 that when you put the key in the ignition without turning it on that the dash lights will flicker on/off and the easy out power seat will move back and forth if you wiggle the key. My SD did the same thing while under warranty and the dealer replaced the ignition switch. How hard of a repair is this to do? It doesn't do this with the key in the acc or run position.

Trans Noise At least I think it’s coming for the trans. Ok here it goes. When I’m just taking off at light acceleration going through the gears I hear what I call a humming noise. It starts off low and as you increase rpms to the shift point it get louder and then start over again. It does this in most of the lower gears, at least what I can hear. As you get going faster there is more wind and tire noise, so I can’t hear it as well. I have heard it at higher speed but conditions have to be right. I found a YouTube vid that someone posted. It has the same noise I’m talking about, he did a great job recorded it. I tried but didn’t have any luck. Anyway he took it to the dealer and they say it was a the separator plate. His is fixed. I did hear that there is a TSB on the Trans for the separator plate but not sure if it is for the same problem I’m having.

I didn't pick up the Raptor--passed on it for other reasons. I still have my 2010 that I bought with an extended warranty--I'm too old to play with them anymore and rather have everything covered.
When I bought my truck it was a factory certified pre-own so I got the 100k warranty plus an extended bumper-bumper coverage.
With that said I have the 5.4L engine and I've noticed here recently that's it is quite sluggish at times. I've read and most say put a tuner on it--in the past I would be all over that. My old 6L Diesel had a tuner but of course during that time I was all for blowing up engines and replacing them. Now not so much.
I noticed that the previous owner threw a damn Airaid intake on it -- I feel like the Airaid is really screwing crap up. I'm wondering if I should just buy the pieces I need to go back to a stock airbox?

2009 F-150 Lariat 4x4 with 5.4L.
My truck will rev no more than three times then idle for about 10 seconds. Then rev 3 times then idle for about 10 seconds. It keeps doing this. For weeks. Idles about 500, revs to 1500. The dealer had it in the shop for 3 days and found nothing wrong with it. I have a video but it won't let me upload it. I don't know what I can do since the DEALERSHIP doesn't even know what to do. Doesn't throw a code.

I got a 2010 F-150 and just installed RECON headlights and taillights on my truck yesterday. Today, I went to go and use my remote start and the lights come on like it should and then it beeps 3 times and doesn't start. All my doors are closed. I thought maybe it was something with my hood sensor but I couldn't really find it.

I get this thumping noise during shifting at times. It doesn't always happen but I hear it somewhat frequently. It's a deep thump coming from the transmission during shift.

So I was wondering if I could get everyone's input on this. I recently got a 2013 FX2 5.0 with the 3.55 axle. I traded in a 2007 5.4 FX2. It seems everyday I learn something new. I would like to discuss the difference between both trucks. I will list a few DIFFRENCES and if you all could list a few more that would be great....I am sure there are some I don't know.
5.0 motor, 6 speed transmission, Electronic locking rear end, Electronic fans versus clutch fan system, Bigger rotors/ brakes, electronic power steering, no fuel cap, Power fold mirrors and I ASSUME I can remove these spark plugs without breaking them.

When should I get the first oil change in our 2013 F150 5.0? We took a 1,000 mile trip right after getting the truck. It's been two weeks and I have put around 1,600 miles on the truck.
Also, how often is everyone getting regular oil changes with the 5.0?

Took my truck in Friday for my first oil change at the dealer and they put Pennzoil in instead of Motorcraft. One would expect Ford would require their products in their sponsored dealerships. i didn't realize until I was home and placed a phone call to the service manager and have not got a return call.

I noticed today my heater did not kick in when I started my truck and about 10 minutes into my drive I finally began feeling hot air. Soon after the air was no longer blowing hot. What this may be and how to verify the issue? I'm interested in taking care of this myself if it is easy/moderate level of difficulty to isolate issue and fix.

I have a 2013 F150 King Ranch pretty well loaded up. In the last several thousand miles (I have approximately 45,000 miles on it), the AM radio, which I listen to a lot, has the volume go up and down on its own. Very annoying. i took it to the dealer to have it analyzed and fixed and after 3 days, came back and said Ford said to start w replacing antennas (all) @ a tune of approximately $450, WITH NO GUARANTEES! Unbelievable! Then it that didn't work, replace the radio.
Well in reading some forums, it appears this has been going on a long time and it appears that Ford doesn't seem to care. This is the first Ford I've owned and I as a business owner, have owned many, many Chev PU's over the years with no problems. My 2010 Suburban doesn't have this problem w twice the miles.

Just bought my 2013 Ford F150 Supercrew 4x4 on Saturday. I noticed a vibration at 35 to 45 mph. Its a slight vibration, the whole truck kind of shakes. Really annoying for a truck with less than 200 miles.

I've noticed that my 2013 STX F150 4x4 5.0L shifts quite hard from 1st to 2nd. This clears up when I pull the battery cable for 30 minutes but comes back in about 2 weeks.
Is this a pretty normal thing?

Overall I love my 2013 F150 and it's been great. I noticed my truck's transmission has been slightly clunking at 10 to 30mph. Meaning, driving in rush hour traffic... slow down, speed up, slow down speed up, etc. I have NOT experienced the hesitation, shudder or shaking. Anyway I took it into the dealership for service.
The dealer applied a transmission Technical service bulletin. So I'm reading the dealer's service dept. paperwork and it says 'Applied TSB to the PCM/TCM.' So I ask the 'kid' behind the service counter specifically what that means and he tells me that they applied a software update to the 'power train control module and transmission control module'. These modules are learning modules and I should drive the truck another 500 to 750 miles before I return for transmission service?
