OK, I have looked everywhere I can think to look and can't fined anything on this. Dash lights how do you turn them off with the engine running. This is on a 2012 f150 xlt.
View 4 RepliesI just got a 2014 Camry SE a few months ago. I have a couple of questions. First of all, I need to know how to turn off the daytime running lights when the engine is off and I'm just parked and listening to the radio. The lights seem to be on any time the ignition switch is in any position except off.
And secondly, is it necessary to use synthetic engine oil instead of good quality regular oil of the correct viscosity? Will it affect the warranty, how about the oil change interval, etc.
My service advancetrac light comes on about once a month, seems random but when it does the turn signals will not work, you have to hold indicator in place for signals to work-not to safe. My local dealer has not been able to fix issue...
View 3 RepliesDash lights that stay on? I know of 2 trucks that dash lights stay on all the time. Dome lights are not on so it should be the doors causing it.

It is so bright that you can't see in the dark with everything off without being blinded.
on my '13 STX, when you press the "unlock" button on the remote, the running lights come on and stay on for a while. It does this when I open the door as well. Is there a way to disable this? I really have no need for this feature and it will burn the bulbs out sooner.
View 12 RepliesI have a 2010 f150 super crew, last night when leaving my baseball game I was shocked to find my running lights and my regular beam lights don't work. My high beams work fine but nothing else. I'm pretty sure the lights are an after market light, but I'm not positive since I purchased it used. I looked in manual to check for a fuse issue but I don't see anything regarding the headlights.
View 1 RepliesHaving trouble with the radio in their truck? When I started my truck today my radio would not turn on, no AM/FM, CD player, Suris or Aux input. It does not matter what buttons you press. The sync will not work and none of the controls for sync.
The display said Ford Tough then the temperature was displayed, but the clock was flashing on and off. There was no pattern to the clock flashing on and off it could flash once or twice then nothing for minute or two then flashes once to 4 times then nothing. I tried a hard reset by disconnecting the battery for over 15 minutes but it made no difference.
On 2010 150 had running lights for approx 1 year on both 4 wire and 7 wire then none. Nothing changed, Checked fuses, all ok. Checked on back side of plug, nothing. Everything else works.
View 14 RepliesOk we have a 2012 F-150 and are trying to hook up a 16ft trailer but have no lights. We know the trailer wiring is fine (works on other vehicles) but we have no power at the 4 pin trailer connector. We have checked the fuses and all are fine. Having this problem on a 2012?

View 6 RepliesI am getting ready to switch out the turn signal bulbs in my 2012 F150 to LED bulbs. I know on my previous truck (2006) I had to switch out the turn signal relay so the turn signal lights would not fast flash. On my 2012 it sounds like the flasher unit is up high in the dash board behind the instrument panel and I can't see it.
How to access it easily? I have seen on other forums the talk of there not being a flasher relay and being computer controlled, but there is one listed on Ford parts for the 2011 and 2012 F150s.
Recently picked up a 2013 F150 XLT. Reasonably basic truck. Supercab, 2wd, 5.0L, 6 speed, trailer towing package with brake controller......
We are about to head out on a 2 week camping trip. We will be at one site for the entire 2 weeks, and the truck will be driven very little during that time. Problem is that numerous people go in and out of the truck many times per day, x2 weeks. My previous tow vehicle had a means for turning off the interior lights during the daytime, when the doors would be constantly opening and closing.
This truck has interior lights and exterior lights and puddle lights and probably lights I don't even know about that come on and stay on for about 15-20 seconds every time the door opens. It has a funky rocker switch, that I hate, for the dash lights, that doesn't seem to turn off the interior lights. (I forgot the owners manual for the truck at a relatives place a week ago, so I can't check in there). Is there a way to manually keep the lights off during the day to save my battery?
I have a 2013 FX4 (crew cab) and cannot figure out how to turn on the courtesy lights! I can get them to work individually by pressing the edge of the lights, but I believe the dimmer switch to the left of the steering wheel should turn them all on (both front and back).
The manual says to push the dash dimmer switch until they come on, but that does not work! An acquaintance has a 2103 Lariat and he can turn his on using the switch, but no luck for me. I was looking in some of my literature I saved when I bought the truck thinking this feature may have been buried in some package that I did not get. Am I missing something?
Just got 2012 TDI. Can't turn off Daytime Running Lights. Was able to do it with menu option with my 2011. Manual says something about pull turn signal lever back & down & turn on ignition for 3 sec, but couldn't get to work. Took to dealer, they fooled with it, hooked up computer, no luck. Looks like turning off DRLs not an option. Is this new Federal reg for 2012?
View 21 RepliesI have an issue that popped up on my 2012 F-150 today. I was driving a bit today and when I returned home and shut the truck off I noticed that the right turn signal indicator stayed faintly illuminated. None of the lights outside are affected, and they all work normally, just that the indicator on the dash is staying lit.
The only thing I can see is that last week I smashed up the drivers side mirror and it busted the lens off of the LED lights in the mirror and 1 LED bulb is exposed. It did rain a bit today but I figured it would short out and blow a fuse if anything.
I will undo the negative battery cable tomorrow and see if it will reset, if not I will have te dealer check it out when I drop it off to have the roof reprinted next week.
The Issue: Dash display reads "Passenger Door Ajar", interior lights stay on, drains battery
Current Fixes I've completed
Sprayed electrical cleaner in all 4 door latch assemblies (didn't work)
Relubricated all 4 door latch assemblies with food grade lithium grease (didn't work)
Replaced passenger door full latch assembly (didn't work)
What is my next step? I have noticed that if I wedge the door lock button on the driver's side door into the lock position, the door ajar message turns off and stays off? I was thinking wiring or relay issues?
After about 5 miles from my normal place to purchase fuel, My truck bagan to run bad and the check engine light kicked on. Mileage dropped to about 8 MPG. This morning, the truck would not start and after 2 can's of dry gas, I was able to start it (barely).
I stopped at the place where I purchased fuel and at least they admitted that they has to shut down yesterday, stating they received a bad batch of fuel from their source.
Now the fun begins...How do I get the "bad gas" out of my truck?. I now have about 1/4th of a tank. I tried to run a line to siphon the gas and I can not get a line far enough into the tank.
The LED Daytime Running Lights are at maximum brightness when the headlights aren't on. When I turn on my headlights, the LED Daytime Running Lights dim down drastically. Is there a way to make the LED Daytime Running Lights not dim down when I turn my headlights on?
View 3 RepliesThe issue being that my interior, tail and sometimes dash lights have begun to flicker while the engine is running. It's noticeably worse upon cold start, however, once the engine warms up the flickering improves a bit. Also noteworthy, is just after starting the voltmeter jumps around between 14-14.5 volts. When the car idles down it settles at 14. My left side battery is sitting at 5 years old and when just the electronics are on it hovers around 13 volts. Am I looking at a failing alternator or voltage reg? Or perhaps a loose connection or iffy fuse or ground somewhere. The car does not idle roughly and I am not hearing or smelling anything that isn't normal. I just had both vcg, valve body, and tie rod ends done. I do not have a vag yet, but I was wondering if there is any for of troubleshooting I can do before she goes back in?
