View 3 RepliesI've got a bit of a weird problem with my 2012 F150 XLT Supercab w/ 5.0 and 4x4. My airbag light flashes on once ignition is in the "ON" position then turns off and back on making it code 1-1 I believe but, I cannot for the life of me, find anything about this. Also, for some reason it only happens when it's above 66 degrees outside, the temperature barely gets above that until this time of year and as soon as I take it anywhere they pull it into their shop, which is cooler than outside, and the code disappears. I would like to see if I can solve this first without doing taking it to a dealer and have a huge bill. I checked all of the cables under the seats, the fuses, the battery and the airbag module under the center console and I cannot find anything that seems loose.
View 5 RepliesI am on top of my oil changes, but this is the first time I have seen the center display flash "change oil soon" and stay on until you hit the OK button. I went through the manual and I cannot find where there is a provision to clear the message. The oil was just changed, has maybe 600 miles on it.
2011 F150 EB lariat with 10,000 on it....
2010 F-150 with 38 gallon tank. Original thought was great way of having some spare fuel available for use during an emergency. How to easily remove gas from these new vehicles?
View 10 RepliesI'm trying to take out the rear headrest on my dad's 2011 F150 crew cab so that i can put my kid's carseat back there. I hit the two release buttons, but the headrest hits the ceiling before the pegs come out of the holes. How are you supposed to remove these things? Does the seat lean forward somehow?
View 10 RepliesI bought a used 2010 f-150. the passenger air bag cover has a small rip in it. I want to replace it & it looks like a separate part on the parts blow up. i do all my own work & was wondering if i can replace it without screwing with the air bag.
View 1 RepliesI have a 2013 F150 STX with an air bag light that comes on randomly, I have had the truck in 3 times so far to get it checked out and they keep replacing a sensor in the driver door. Part number BL3Z 14B345A. The sensor has been replaced twice so far and the light still comes on randomly. I took the truck in again on 11/17/2015 and was told to bring it back when the light is on and stays on. I think we all know that if the light comes on and I do manage to get it to the service department during business hours that I will not be rushed to the front of the line and they will park the truck turn off the ignition and the light will go out.
The truck also has a couple of other little glitches. Every once in awhile at start up the radio will just pop or crackle through the speakers this will last for about 2 blocks then the radio works fine after that. The speakers will also cut out randomly while sitting at a stop light. I guess since Ford don't know how to fix there trucks. The truck is still under warranty but it is getting close to the mileage cutoff.
Where the air bag module is located on a 2010 ford f-150?
View 4 RepliesI though I would like the tailgate step and assist handle. They are always in the way and I want to get rid of the handle but keep the step if possible. Can I remove the plastic tailgate cover, pull the hande and re-install a metal tailgate cover.
If not, want to swap a tailgate. Its red, has the back-up camera and, no dealer markings and in excellent condition.
I continue to get that message whenever about anything is on the passenger seat. Today there was only a wrapper and an empty cardboard box from an oil filter. Together I doubt they weighed more than a few ounces. I normally just clear the message a few times to get it to go away...but today it triggered a seat belt alarm. Is there a way to change the amount of weight that it takes to trigger this message...or is it due to something else?
View 14 Replies2009 Lariat. Paint peeling off front of dash on airbag cover, vin# says HW for the code what color is that. Can't figure out what HW means, it's either Camel Parchment or Medium Camel Interior don't want to waste money on the wrong vinyl paint.
View 2 RepliesI have a 2011 F150 supercrew 4x4 5.0, it has almost 8k miles. I have looked around online to see if this is a common issue but haven't found anything really. The airbag warning light in the instrument cluster will come on and stay on randomly. Some days it only lights up when I start the truck, other days it will turn on and stay on until I restart the truck. I think I have a glitch or a malfunction in a switch somewhere with the Airbag system. I will be calling the dealership about it after we finish the Easter Weekend.
View 5 RepliesI have a 2013 FX4 with the 3.5 twin turbo engine. How to remove the right side valve cover to replace the gasket? I have loosened the perimeter bolts and was able to get it to move slightly but nothing more. I also removed the spark plugs thinking that they might be holding the tubes which are connected to the valve cover by round seals. I have not removed the seals since I was concerned that I might damage them. Do they need to come off? If so how do I do it? It's amazing how complicated this job is! Short of calling the dealer service, I have just about exhausted all my usual tech resources.
View 4 RepliesJust hasn't been my luck lately guys. Last night was around 4 F out, taking a left at an intersection and lost power. Though it might be the TC kicking in as it was a bit icy out, but no indication of that on the dash. Then the "service engine" wrench showed up for a second on the display.
This was followed by the airbag light turning on, and the truck going into some kind of limp mode. The speedo indicated "0 MPH" though I was running about 2k RPMs in 5th.
My display showed this:
I couldn't force a downshift with the throttle, or get one from manual mode. I slowed down and pulled over at a safe place, shut the truck off and restarted. Hasn't happened since then.
On three different occasions in the past month I noticed air bag light on in my 13 supercrew. Code comes up as B0091 drivers door crash sensor. This truck was bought new and only has 13000 miles on it so my gut is telling me it's something to do with the harness that is at the door hinge. I've carefully inspected the wires and do not see any obvious broken wires but that doesn't mean one of the wires isn't breaking on the inside.
View 3 Replies2012 5.0 getting about 13 mpg other saying they get 17 mpg.....
View 14 RepliesHaving trouble with the radio in their truck? When I started my truck today my radio would not turn on, no AM/FM, CD player, Suris or Aux input. It does not matter what buttons you press. The sync will not work and none of the controls for sync.
The display said Ford Tough then the temperature was displayed, but the clock was flashing on and off. There was no pattern to the clock flashing on and off it could flash once or twice then nothing for minute or two then flashes once to 4 times then nothing. I tried a hard reset by disconnecting the battery for over 15 minutes but it made no difference.
I have a 2012 f150 stx 5.0 and I drive mostly city with a few highway miles. Why get this bad of gas mileage?
View 8 RepliesI've done 3 oil changes since picking up my 2012 Lariat 5.0 a little over a year ago. And I've always questioned the accuracy of the oil dipstick - seemed to always read 'low'.
I just changed oil tonight (Motorcraft 5w-20 semi-synthetic), and I measured the oil that I drained out - just about right at 8 qts. I put in 7 qts and 24 oz (about 1.6 - 2 oz over the 7.7 qts that it calls for) and the oil barely reaches the low level on the dipstick.
I guess between what I drained out and my current oil level reading, my dipstick is not accurate.
I have noticed that on my 2012 5.0 Screw that the A/C isn't very cold. It is no where near as cold as my last truck, or any of a number of late model cars I have driven. If it's over 85 and I have it set to auto (70 degrees) it will never get there and just run full tilt the whole day. Even if you select Max A/C and blow it on you you will never have to turn the fan down from being cold as in other cars.
