Just hit 70,000 miles and went out of warranty. The issue is the Heads Up Display periodically shows "Check Back Up Sensor". When this occurs the sensors do not detect, and this doesn't happen all the time. I did clean the lens on each of them.
View 1 RepliesI have a 2014 ecoboost F150 xlt. Yesterday while driving the dash display just blinked off then back on. Truck continued working normally while the screen was off. Only happened once but it was fairly worrisome as it was at the start of our 5 hour return drive.
View 2 RepliesI would get "Tire Pressure Sensor Fault" on my display all the time. The problem occurred mostly on long trips, however, it would occur from time to time on shorter trips. I complained to the dealer about this every time I went in for an oil change. They could never find a problem and wanted me to bring it in when the fault was occurring. Of course these thing never happen when you're by a dealer. To my dealers credit they said they would fix the problem out of warranty if we can find it.
Well I found the problem. As strange as it sounds if I use the cigarette lighter with a power USB adapter to charge my phone or iPad I get the fault. If I use the 12V accessory port on the dash no fault.
Last weekend we drove to Nisswa MN & back (about 1,200 miles). To test the theory I only used the 12V accessory port and no fault occurred. Normally the fault would occur w/in 50 miles then just continue on being annoying the whole rest of the trip. I wish I would have found this out 57,000 miles ago. I use the adapter because the USB port on the dash will only charge my iPhone if the phone is off.
Just bought a 2012 2.5l last week, and have a question about the MPG display on the dash. When I bought it from the dealer it had a full tank and it showed I had about 500+ miles left. Yesterday I filled up the tank again and now it only showed I have 405 miles, but as I drove it bounced around from 415-400. after driving about 35 miles its still at 405 miles. Just wondering if this is how it's supposed to be, if I have to reset something every time I fill up, or if something is wrong? I've always had mk4 so I'm not all up to date on the "new".
View 4 RepliesWhen I pull the tail light out of my 12 F150 there is a blue/wht wire and a black wire going to the back up light. I assume the blue wire is the positive and black is the ground. Is that correct? I also posted this in the wiring section.

Had a couple days of 20's temps, started truck last night and I have the brakes symbol and ABS light staying on, with the message "Check brake system" and the traction control symbol alternating back and forth. On a 16 mile trip, they all went out just once, for about ten seconds when I restarted at the gas station. Then came back on. Brake job done within the last two years by previous owner at the dealership.

For some reason they can't fix it, I have tried everything I can to get it fixed but still having the issue.
View 5 RepliesI took delivery of my 2012 FX4 Eco in January and about a month or so later I began experiencing a loss of power and the check engine light would come on then go off again. This happened the first time in Houston traffic one day so I was pretty concerned needless to say but then it cleared itself shortly thereafter. However, heading back home it occurred again on the highway while I was trying to pass and she just didn't have the power. I took it to a Houston dealer late in the afternoon before I left but no codes were found and when I got it back to my local dealer it was determined the left side catalytic converter was bad and it was subsequently replaced. Well, it happened again and it's back in the shop while I am offshore so they have plenty of time to take care of it.
View 2 RepliesToday morning, when I started the car and backed out of the garage, the rear view camera display was not lit-up. Normally as I get out of the garage, it senses the change in outside lighting & changes the brightness of the display automatically.
After backing up, I put the car on Drive and then on Park, but the display was totally blank. No audio nor response by touching any buttons. Then I turned off the car & restarted it.
Then the display came up, but with this weird looking screen, which I have never seen before in the 5 months that I have owned this car..
It lasted for about 30-40 secs, with the progress bar moving all the way across. Then everything was back to normal!.
I have a 99 durango and it does not have the overhead display but i got one from another 99 durango so will mine have the wiring for it and if not i also have about a foot of the wiring for the hud with the plug that goes into it, if i have to do any wiring. Looking to have a wiring diagram for it?
View 2 RepliesI am going down the highway at 70-75 mph listening to music I look down and see my gauge needles sweeping across the faces of the gauges. The heads up display resets. Nothing else in the car changes radio keeps playing, speed doesn't change. Nothing else changed.

M y 90 aero 3.0 heads are leaking front and back freeze plugs. I think back ones are pretty accessible from inside. How hard to change it . I changed block plugs. What size are head plugs?.
View 14 RepliesHaving issue with the outside temperature display being way off. It doesn't do it all the time, but does seem to happen if I've been plowing or something. I think I've had it happen in the summertime also, but can't remember the circumstances. Basically it must be happening because I'm not moving much air. Where the sensor is located, and could there be something that may be blocking the air flow? I know this is a piddlely little problem, but if it's easily remedied, I'd would really like an accurate reading.

View 6 RepliesThe gear display on the right of my screen has disappeared. The display when in "M" works normally. and the transmission seems to work normally. I haven't done a thing to it except drive it. I'll be going in for an oil change in a few weeks but I'd like some input from the group about this.
View 3 RepliesI bought a used 2011 ford f150 crew cab lariat. I love it!! 5.0 liter, towing package. I notice that when I turn on the headlights, there is no indication on the display that they are on ! When I put it on high beam, I see the blue light icon on the display.
2. Another question, it has the headed mirror option, but I can't find any control that turns this on. Is this automatically controlled??
3. One more. It doesn't have daylight running lights and when I leave the headlights on and exit the vehicle, the headlight stay on! There is an auto delay digital switch on the display but I think that only applies to how long the headlight stay on when exiting the vehicle and the light switch is on auto. I am confused about the light setting on the truck.
The truck only has 24k on it so is still under bumper to bumper warranty.
I just picked up an 05 6.0 Limited and love it, but I can't figure out the overhead temperature gauge. It shows -40 degrees no matter what, but if I hit the outside temp button on the climate control, it shows the (mostly) correct temp. I verified that the temp sensor in front of the radiator is still there and hooked up, and it seems to me that Ford wouldn't go to the expense of using separate sensors for each readout, so I'm guessing that the problem is in the overhead unit itself. All of the other functions (compass, mileage, range) work just fine. I've seen several threads about the overhead dying completely as chips rattle loose. Is it also common for just specific functions to go out as things start to shake apart?
View 14 RepliesI recently purchased a 2012 Lexus LS 460. I looked everywhere for an answer, but can not find one. On the navigation screen, the compass can point north or in a 'heads up' position. Most people, as you know, like the heads up (moving icon always points north). However, in this 'heads up' mode, the compass does not seem to indicate what direction I am moving. The compass does change when the car changes direction, but it does not correctly show the direction the vehicle is moving. For example, if I am driving true NORTH, the compass will show NORTH. If I then start to turn righ (moving from NORTH to NORTH-EAST), the compass actually starts to move and show NORTH-WEST. So, when the compass is in 'always north' position, the icon on the navigation screen correct shows the direction the car is moving. But, when the compass is in 'heads up' position...how can I tell what directing the car is moving?

I have a 2012 ecoboost, recently I went to the trip gauge mode and the display screen for trip A had a yellow rectangle imposed over the time,mpg ect.and would not function correctly. When I switch to trip B info, all info operated correctly and no yellow rectangle in trip B mode. Trip A mode continues be inoperable and still has the yellow rectangle even after the engine was shut off several times during the day.
