Figuring out the door code of my truck. Probably took them all of two tries, really. Anyway, how to disable the keypad? I looked in the owner manual but found nothing. 2012 F150 .....
View 14 RepliesMy XLT doesn't have a door keypad and in the last 2 years I've really missed it. I found one on eBay that is factory part. I know I'll need to purchase a new handle with the holes for the keys to come through, but my question is will my truck be pure wired with the necessary plug to install this or is it going to be a hassle? The description says it will work on any trick with keyless entry. I assume this means the key fob keyless entry but before I ordered it I wanted to check on here first.

on my '13 STX, when you press the "unlock" button on the remote, the running lights come on and stay on for a while. It does this when I open the door as well. Is there a way to disable this? I really have no need for this feature and it will burn the bulbs out sooner.

I have a 2011 bought a couple of months ago. Could I pull the fuse and still have the mirrors on? I rarely use the back window as I use to side mirrors. Drive a 18 wheeler for a living.

View 14 RepliesI had been waiting a long time for a remote start solution to be available for my 2014 IS-250 with navigation. I finally saw idatalink released a firmware for their ADS-ALCA bypass module that allows you to add a remote start that is triggered by the factory keypad. It was a fairly easy installation and it started up right away. I do have car installation experience, but I didnt find the installation to be that difficult in general.

We all know the front door speakers on these are horrible. I am changing them out all the time under warranty for being blown. In doing so I decided it was time for a video on how to remove the door panel without damage to get at the speakers and swap in aftermarket etc.

If I use the remote to unlock the doors then everything works as it should, no alarm.
If I unlock the doors using the key pad the alarm sounds?
I have read thru many of the threads I can find but most are reprogramming the keypad. I am suspecting that a door open switch may be the culprit but wouldn't that affect the remote as well?

View 2 RepliesIf your truck came with the FOB to open the doors remote, but not the keypad on the door, you can add one. Originally the keypad was hard wired and was an expensive option. Several years later the newer keypads were RF signal just like the FOB. If you have or had FOB, then you have the keyless module on the truck (mounted to firewall infront of the emergency brake).. All you have to do is buy the newer style RF keypad, stick it to the door, and program like the FOB. I just did this on a 2002 F150.

View 5 RepliesStarting a few weeks ago, my drivers side door of my 2007 Camry doesn't unlock either with the keypad or by using the button within the car. Someone broke something off in the lock eons ago so now I'm just climbing over the passengers side which stinks. This isn't happening all the time, usually just when I'm in a rush But it's happening more frequently.
