View 2 RepliesI was wondering if one would experience increased fuel mileage &/or power with the 5.0 by using unleaded premium gas, and if so, how much? I know this is true w/ the 6.2L in the F-250, and was wondering if the same applied to the 5.0?
View 14 RepliesMy 2011 F150 did not come with Keyless Entry so I purchased Fords alternative which is a number pad that sticks to the door above the handle and acts basically like a key fob.cI asked my dealer if I just purchased the new door handles with the keyless built in if they can just add the module to the board and connect it. Faster than I could finish the service Manager said no with out even discussing it. I'd really like to do this if it is somehow possible. My parts guys is going to try and get service to call Ford Tech but he didn't have a lot of faith that they would.
View 2 RepliesWe just picked up a 2007 f350 dully with 71,000 miles on it. Have done some research but still would love some input. We would like to do the egr delete and add a monitor/programmer to monitor things. We will be using this as a daily driver and to haul our dj equipment trailer (nothing big) have looked at several programmers and also talked with several local diesel owners currently leaning toward the Edge Cts2.
View 9 RepliesI was just curious what the best way to increase initial acceleration from a dead stop is for a 2009 F- 150 XLT with a 5.4 V-8.
View 14 RepliesLooking putting on a Putco lightbar on my 2014 Supercrew. It seems I don't have a good surface on the right side the sheet metal has some type to bulge and a rectangle hole.
View 14 RepliesWas wondering if it was possible to add factory mirrors with the blinkers on them to my 2014 xl? My mirrors don't have them and I'd like to have them. If so, I could just buy a set and plug them into a harness in the door?
View 12 RepliesMight be adding a '13 to the work fleet but it won't have a receiver, when my '09 was rear ended I noticed it looked like the bumper and receiver are more or less all in one. So can just the receiver hitch be added on these or is it a complete bumper replacement?
View 3 RepliesOn a 2010 XLT F150 supercrew, how hard would it be to add a remote start to it. I would like a factory type system, especially i can operated my keyless entry. How much am I looking at? and does the truck stay running when you open the door.
View 3 RepliesLooking to put dual exhaust on my 2010 F150. Which muffler. Flowmax or Magnaflow. Do not want it very load. Looking a little smooth churn like the Mustang. As you know ford is very distinctive and I want it to be heard to some degree.
View 14 RepliesSo I have had my Platinum for a year now and really love it but there are two things that drive me nuts. First is the range of the romote start, which is the factory installed version. There is no range you pretty much have to right next to the truck for it to work so what is the point? Any way to increase the range?
Second is the audio system, I have the in-dash NAV/Sync system. I use my iPod pretty much all the time. I have it hooked up via USB. Now sometimes when I am listeng to it while driving the turn off the truck do something get back in and stert the truck the iPod does not play, I have to go to the NAV screen and push the USB icon and then it will start to play, other time I just start the truck and it play automatically. I have my system to play automatically but that is not always the case.
I have just bought on 09 XLT, and wouldn't you know it, I was behind a Lariet that made a left hand turn, and then I saw something my truck does not have... the turn signal LED at the bottom left hand side of it's mirror. And guess what? Now I want that too! I have seen some other threads about this on other web sites, but as far as I am concerned, this site is the last word on anything Ford truck! I have a couple of questions:
What is the Ford part # for the mirror turn signal lights? Also I would like to install the reflectors in front of the mirrors so I can add LEDs to them too. What is the part numbers for the front reflectors? And lastly, I would like to try not to tear up more than I need too, so would there already be the turn signal wires I could connect inside the mirror housing? Or since this does not have that option from the factory am I going to have to take the mirror off the truck and run those myself?
After installing the autospring 2" Leveling kit and the rear add a leaf 1.5" I was wondering if its at all possible to add a slight steel plate between the spacers and rear leaf to get just a little more lift.
I have access to our shop where I can get the steel and get it cut and drilled accurately, just wondering if this will cause any issues be adding additional plate?
Like for the front add it between the spacer and strut and in the back, when when I was adding the new leaf it had some shims I guess in between the leafs, so just curious if I could add the plate under the leafs?
Is there a MPG gain with synthetic oil or adding a tonneau cover?
I'm planning on doing the tonneau but curious if any noticeable differences with either.
Have a 1992 F-350 4x4, 429 V8; auto transmission with o/d. I tow a fifth wheeler. Without camper if I stay under 50mph I get 11 mpg; doing almost anything else gets 8 mpg; towing brings it down to 6.5 mpg.How can I increase gas mileage. I drive with a light foot and slow start and stop.
View 17 RepliesBeen doing some research about MPG and towing. Can-Am RV recomends lowering your TT to increase mileage. I'm wondering if I could get lower profile (or just shorter) tires on my rig whether I could increase my mileage because of lowered wind resistance. I've weighed the rig so I know what my per axle weights are. My current tire capacity (Michelin M/S load range E) is way over the posted axle weights on the truck.
View 14 RepliesI have a 2012 f150 stx 5.0 and I drive mostly city with a few highway miles. Why get this bad of gas mileage?
View 8 RepliesI have a 2009 F-250 4x4 with a 5.4L and a manual transmission. I am looken to get more low end torque and a few more horses. I am thinking about starting out with a programmer and/or headers. Is this a good or bad idea.
View 6 RepliesHow much my mileage will suffer if I go with a 3:73 rearend instead of a 3:55 ? Towing and not towing ? Truck will be 2012 F150 4X4.
View 11 RepliesWinter is over and summer is here. Will running with the AWD module unplugged increase fuel mileage? Will it do any harm to the drivetrain? (Assume matched tires, good alignment and suspension).
Signed, Looking to squeeze a buck anyway I can.
I have a 2010 F150 Supercrew 5.4 Lariat that just turned 100,000 miles that is losing fuel mileage all of a sudden... Over the years I'd get 16-17 mpg city and 18/19 highway(best I ever got was 20 mpg on a trip from New Orleans to Houston with cruise set on 65 all the way and no stops) always checked- tank vs miles, not on dash, and with every tank... I've changed all the plugs recently, did the BG Induction Service and BG Transmission service, K&N filter cleaned and recharged, about to do the MAP sensor cleaning also... I've dropped to 15-15.5 miles for the last two tanks...
Truck runs fine but maybe it's just me seems slightly sluggish when driving and accelerate to speed up quickly. Idles fine etc... I've just ordered a scanner for the computer, not that I have any codes YET...but I'm just trying to figure this out to get back to my normal mileage... Again no codes but what about the 02 sensors, they've never been changed... any other tweaks you knowledgeable folks can think of? Also ran Seafoam through the last two tanks... I pull a trailer from time to time... but not for a while... can the transmission get stuck in a lower setting since I'm told they "adjust" and need a few hundred miles to adjust back to non hauling?
