I have a 2010 F-150 Lariat and from the salted snow and slushy roads I have rust stains on the wheels. It is not severe and I dont think the wheels are steel but I would like to remove the rust stains without damaging the wheels.

View 7 RepliesI recently purchased a 2009 FX4 Supercrew. So far so good, other than I am just noticing stains on the headliner near the back window. Looking at TSB 12-4-4, it looks like the truck has the leaky third brake light issue - or had it in the past. Of course I am beyond the factory warranty, but I was wondering if there was a way to tell if the previous owner had this resolved? Is it common, even if it was addressed previously, that the seal could go bad on this light again?
View 5 RepliesWent to change the front brake pads on my 2010 F150 today which has 80,000 miles on it and is 2wd. Prior to taking the wheels off we noticed that it takes both hands grabbing the wheel and a significant amount of umph to get them to spin. As soon as you let go of the wheel it stops moving.
While changing the pads we didn't see anything that seemed misaligned or incorrect. The pistons compressed with ease on both calipers. However we did have to fight to remove the inside pad on both wheels.
After re-install wheels back on, they are still just as hard to try to spin. Is this normal if not what could be the problem and could this be affecting my MPG which i get 18.0....
I recently took my 2010 Toyota Corolla LE to the dealer for an oil change and also to resolve a trunk leak.
I guess when they tried to resolve the trunk leak their mechanic smeared some oil on the headliner. Whats the best way to remove the oil stains on the headliner?
I just noticed that my black brake calipers look dull. I used my finger to check it and behold, the shine is back. Is there anyway i can clean the brake calipers without removing the wheels?

Or even not approved but recommended? Most concern is I live in a snow/salt zone. Last truck rusted from inside to out but I am not disappointed as it took years. Looking for info about coats/ sprays, seals, or anything to the new trucks.
Last truck (2003 F350) had doors rust through and the rear wheel wells from the inside out. This was common on that year. The truck stayed outside 365 days a year and Pennsylvania loves salt on the roads. I wouldn't say it was a rust bucket, but after 12 years the entire underneath was falling apart by touch. Lines rusted through and such. The body panels were waxed a few times a year and held out pretty good, although all the lower parts of doors and corners were rusted through or needed some work. (Doors and bed fixed once already 6 years ago).
I own a 2011 lariat with 500 miles. We have had several days of rain and I am getting alot of rust spots on my driveway always below and inside the right front tire. None in the rear or left front. Dealer said not to worry about it after they looke at the area. They said it is the new metal forming surface rust. There is a skid plate which seems to cover wherever the rust is starting. Should I demand that area be undercoated.

If I can get a diagram and where I can order it online would be awesome,if that's possible. Never had this problem before on any ford truck with the interior paint and all I ever do is wipe it down with armor all.

View 14 RepliesI recently puchased a 2012 F-150 with the "ecoboost" engine. Recently I've been noticing an odor of what seems to be like rubber burning coming from the rear end of the truck.
It's very prominent when I stomp the gas pedal, with the traction control disabled especially. There's quite a bit of smoke coming from the rear, and the truck seems to over-accelerate for a V6. Should I take it to the dealer for repair?
Any way to replace or re finish the chrome clad wheels?

View 14 RepliesMy 2003 Impala (red) has a few spots on it that could use a tad touch up of paint, nothing big just a spot or two, what is the best route to get those area's touched up. I know they sell auto spray paint in a number of places, none of my spots are bigger then by thumb or such and don't want them to get bigger. There is a bit of rust on a couple of the spots, so just wondered what are good options.

Found fresh coolant and stains running dwn both metal tubes leading to trans cooler. This is the 3rd Hyundai vehicle in 15 yrs, first negative experience, off to the dealer.

View 15 RepliesMy 05 Caravan is in excellent shape with only 40k miles and noticed rust and paint bubbles only on the lower front side of the rear wheel well (drivers side). I live in Pa and wash the car after snow storms. Of course the car is out of rust warranty and the dealer said they can repair it but they do not know what causes it. I have seen this exact problem on other caravans and I have been told it is were the two pieces of metal are joined together, the wheel well seam, which causes the problem. We sealed the seam last fall with silicon when it was just paint bubbles and now it has gotten worse. My thinking is either we need to go back and look at the seam again as we only sealed the section that looked open or there is a leak from somewhere else in the van - the gas cap area or the area on the frame when the door is open is suspect to me. Basically I am asking if there is anywhere else I should look for this leak besides the wheel well seam?
