I was loading some 2x4's and one hit the rear tail light housing and broke it easily. Hard to believe it broke so easy. Will be picking up a new one at the dealer! Wish it was made out of high impact plastic . You can't just get the clear cover. You have the buy the whole unit.
View 8 RepliesNoticed today in the snow, I was pulling out of the driveway in 2H and the rear tires broke loose, weird sound coming from the front end like the truck was trying to engage the 4 wheel drive but it wouldn't go in. Traction control? Threw it in 4H and the sound went away????
View 1 RepliesI have a 2010 Camry and on Friday I got my oil changed at a local shop and while there the guy told me that they broke the lip off of the oil filter housing that I need to get a new one from Toyota before my next oil change. Said not a big deal right now but do before next change. My first mistake was paying for the oil change and not making them replace the housing since they are the ones that broke it. Well that night I drove about 150 miles and the next morning I drove 75 miles my car started making a odd noise when I would accelerate but not while I was just cruising. Then is just died while I was pulling into parking spot. Started it back and died again and just kept dying and not stay started. I check the oil and the stick is bone dry. There is oil all over everything under my car and had to pull it home on a trailer. Obviously the filter leaked all of it out, but my oil light never came on. Question is do you think there is damage to my motor? Do I make the oil changing place replace my motor so if it did damage I don't have to pay for it in a few thousand miles?
View 4 RepliesMy wife's 2010 Lariat, has a problem with the heater switch. Its stuck in one speed.
Also the rear defogger switch doesn't light up. We don't know if the switch to it is just bad, OR if the whole system is bad.
Was also wondering if the blend door would be bad??
Looks like my gas tank door spring busted.
Is that an easy replacement? Any way to fix it? It won't close completely anymore.
I can't believe how rusty my rear end is with 17000 miles? It's not flaking off rusty but it's not black anymore, is this bad ? I was thinking of painting it , but not sure if it's worth it????

View 3 RepliesI was twisting off the DFCM housing when I heard a pop and alot of fuel leaking. It appears I sheared off the 32mm plastic nut. I know for a fact that I was turning it counter clockwise just like the manual stated. Now what do I do? I cant run my SD can I? The simplest solution is to get another housing and install it but im not sure ill be able to get the remnants of the original housing off with out the nut to twist it. I watched Epics video on changing the filter and his came off with little effort? My same story just different result.
View 14 RepliesJust got a 2010 lariat supercrew...I put 1900 miles on it so far. When slowly letting off the accelerator (doing between 20-30 mph and between 1000-1500 rpm) there is a distinct rubbing sound for about 1-2 seconds...it is now sounding more like grinding now...took it to the shop today...(they couldn't duplicate (because service rep documented 60 mph instead of the 20-30 mph...went back at the end of the day to ride with the tech, and i was able to duplicate so now they have something to work with....also the noise happens mostly when the path of travel is either level road or slight to great incline..it has not happened on a down slope....

This occurs with or without a trailer behind me. Just bought this truck a week ago m noticed it about the third time I drive it.
View 4 RepliesThis past week my wife and I took a short trip and returned on a gravel road. I went to start my truck the next morning and there was a puddle of diesel fuel on the driveway. When I looked under it, I noticed that the tip of the fuel filter housing is gone and is leaking slowly from there. I called the dealer and they would not fix it on warranty, the truck has 20k on it. The service man said he would not turn this into ford. I've had the similar problems with this particular dealer. It's obvious that a protective cover is needed for this. I kept the part and am thinking of sending it to ford.

While driving down the highway yesterday at about 65mph I went to change lanes. As I was changing lanes I gave it a little gas. About half way through the lane change truck jerked like I had just been rear ended. I immediately checked my mirrors to see if I changed lanes in front of some body. No one was around. Truck still ran the same. Everything I'be read seems like similar thing happen to others at slower speed.
We have a "new" 2010 F150 with factory sunroof & power sliding rear window. Well like the post title says, it'll open but not close.
I took apart the switch & cleaned the contacts - it all looks and fits together as it should. I went ahead and removed the cables controlling the window slider frame to close it. I'm guessing the motor is somewhere behind the back seats?
I was trying to replace the output sensor in my 5r110 when it broke off in the housing.
View 7 Replies2011 F-150 crew cab 4x4, problem started when truck wouldn't start like a dead battery. Jumped and immediately started no problem, drove a half hour and stopped at store, started fine and all good. Parked at house and friends stopped over and reported truck tail lights / brake lights were flashing. Fellow mechanic recommended unplugging trailer plug receptacle behind bumper and waited but same thing, lights blink every couple seconds. Who's the electrical gremlin slayer champion ??? Any ides or cures for known issues of this nature ?
View 1 RepliesLooking for a wiring diagram for my 2015 F-150? I have recently lost my running tail lights and licence plate lamps. Visually checked every fuse and found no problems there. I put in LED tail lights a couple weeks ago and they worked fine then noticed one day my tail lights weren't on when headlights were. Front running lights work fine. If I could get a diagram to start tracing wiring back that would be great.

just had a question about my trucks coolant bought it used from a dealership a month ago and the coolant was fine i recently was checking everything today and saw that the coolant was a light brown with what looks like dirt floating in it. It smells like normal coolant there's no oil in the reservoir, not milky or sludgy just a light brown truck is running at normal temperatures ac and heat work and it has only 26k miles
