I am thinking about swapping out the radio on my 04 Lariat and was wondering if there was any way to keep my volume controls on the steering wheel functioning?

View 2 RepliesEver swap their cluster for the 2008 cluster and can u make the new trip computer compatible without a load of traditional vw crazy wiring harness rig maybe a conversion harness and ecu upgrade .
View 10 RepliesI'm thinking of swapping my tow mirrors from my 04 F-250 for a set off an 08. My truck currently has manual windows and mirrors. What would I need to wire up the power and heated mirrors from an 08 and change my windows to auto while I'm at it?
View 11 Repliesi have a xl truck that i just got for work. I am wondering if it is possible to change the radio from it to my old cd 6 that i have in my personal truck. I know on the older models you can switch to a ford radio with a cd player but not a cd 6 but I don't know if it's possible on this model or not.
View 1 Replies08 screw lariat. Got home today turned off my truck and when I opened my door the radio did not turn off, and when i hit the lock unlock button on the door nothing happened. The keypad on the out side would not function either. I used the key fob to lock and unlock the doors but the radio still would not turn off. I ended up having to open the passenger side door to get the radio to turn off. What is going on with the driver side door?
View 3 RepliesI have seen fixes for other radios with soldering the connectors but no one has show a radio like I have It's a 6CD changer MP3 unit.
Need fixing the dim light on this unit. I attached a picture of the circuit board.
I have a 2008 F150 4-Door. A couple of weeks ago I tried to turn my radio on and it wouldn't come on. I though it was just the cold weather affecting it. The following week I tired the radio again and it still would not come on so I pulled the fuse and checked it and it was good. Put in back in and the radio still would not come on. So I got a new fuse and put it in and the radio still would not come on. So what am I missing. What else can it be.
View 3 RepliesI just bought s new battery got my 07 screw and now I have no radio and the remote start doesn't work.
View 7 RepliesI have a 2008 F150 4 door 5.4 V8. It's your standard F150. Power Steering, Power Brakes, Radio/CD Player and A/C. It has just a little over 120 thousand miles on it. Until now I haven't had any problems with it. About a week ago I got in and cranked the truck and radio, clock didn't come on. I thought it was turned off so I pushed the button a couple of times with no results.
That evening I checked the fuse and the fuse wasn't blown but I checked it anyway and it was good. But I still replaced it with a new fuse that I checked to make sure it was good and the result was the same. No radio or clock. I have been told that there's another fuse behind the radio that could be blown. So here's my questions. First is there another fuse behind the radio. Second is how do you get the radio out and the third question is can you buy a refurbished one and if so where and what would the cost be. Or could it be something else.
Replaced battery today in my 08 xl and now have no power to the radio or the 5 amp fuse behind the kick panel. Where to go and what to do?
View 1 Replies I have a 2004 F150 Screw Lariat and the problem is this: After turning of the truck, removing key from ignition and opening the door the following happens:
1. Radio stays on (will time out)
2. The power windows still work
3. The interior dome lights stay off
It's as if the door switches have been removed from the circuit. I've tried all doors. There are references to the GEM module but I didn't think there was one in this truck.
For the door switches, when the door is closed, the circuit is open, when the door is open the circuit is closed. I'm not sure what to check next. I checked some of the relays - auxilary delay relay, power relay etc etc. but I would think its a relay issue.
The door open signal is transmitted on the UBP network, no idea about that and they feed into the body control module - not sure where this is.
My truck was fine yesterday morning, but when I got in it after work, nothing worked. The power windows, radio, ac, gauges all stopped working. Everything else does - power seat, wipers, turn signals....etc. What is going on?
View 2 RepliesSo with the nice weather here I can start driving the SC430 more which lets me think of projects for the 600 that might leave it in bits for a few days or week or so. I know that in 09 or 10 the 600 got a change to the battery pack that ended up increasing the room in the trunk by about 15 or 20%. I think they changed the NiMH traction battery pack.
The question is - can I swap out just the battery pack or does I need to swap other parts from the hybrid system? Was the increase in trunk space worth the trouble?
I have 1 bad injector well it's missing when it's cold and two others that are "weak" I'm wondering what kind of job it would be to do by myself?
View 14 RepliesComing home from work tonight, Radio turned down, Air off/Heat off. Whats the sound coming from the dash around the radio/heater controls/ vents? Can't really explain the noise, but its like a boiling/clicking/scratching noise.
View 14 RepliesDriving home my radio quit working. I looked at the gauges and they all dropped to the left. The it looked like my lights quit working and then the truck just quit. All of this happened within 5 miles and 10 minutes. I jumped it and quit before I could even get going, it did start momentarily. Could not even get the gear shift into neutral; had to jump it to get that to happen.
It is 2006 F150 4x4, 5.4L engine and about 95,000 miles.
I am wanting to swap out my mirrors from the adjustable "egg-shaped" superduty on my 2004 to the newer style square type mirrors. I like the newer style mirrors, because i drive an F-550 at work and it has those mirrors on it and it makes towing and seeing in general a heck of a lot better and easier. The question is, Is this conversion possible? Will the newer style mirrors fit on an older truck like mine?
View 14 Repliesbeen off and on having problems with my r/f speaker cutting out, not completely-i get a little noise from it. ive replaced the speakers in the front but found since i have the audiophile system, they sounded terrible. i removed what i believe to be a crossover from the factory speaker & reinstalled the crossover with the factory connector & tweeter, but spliced in the new 6x8s. this made it sound wonderful again. now i still seem to be having the problem and found if i unplug the radio and plug it back in it will work good again for a short period of time.
my question is can i use any ford radio that looks like it is the same, I like the ones with the chrome on thje. Or should i just get a kenwood or something. i dont want to spend a ton of money. and will an aftermarket head unit decrease sound quality since i have the audiophile as the speakers originally did without the crossover.
I have an 08 RX350 with navigation and premium sound. I bought a Kenwood DDX8901HD radio along with the TYTO-01 interface and the ASWC-1 to try and keep my steering wheel controls. I removed my old radio easy enough. Installed the TYTO-01 made all the connections and now I have NO NAVIGATION ANYMORE NOR DO I HAVE AC. It says check AC connection.
View 12 RepliesI was wondering if I could take the automatic transmission from a 2004 Jetta 1.8 turbo gas and put it in my 2005 automatic 1.8 turbo gas GLI. Everything about the cars seems the same to me except some of the cosmetics on my GLI.
View 7 RepliesI have heard people say it is a quick job to switch arm rest covers on the captains chairs. I am tired on the cracks on the tops of mine.
