Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: Rubber Door Trim Aren't Adhesive?
Dec 8, 2013
The rubber door trim (attached to the roof side) keeps coming off 3 of my doors when it gets icy. Is there something I can use to glue it to the metal ?

View 7 RepliesMy 2008 Elite has a door that won't open. The rear door on the driver's side.
It is an Australian Elite model. I can hear the click when the remote is pressed. How can I get the door open to remove the intyerior trim?
I have an 07 King Ranch. I need to remove the rubber step off the rear bumper to paint it. Due to a typical Ford paint job it is rusting already. Can I just pull up on it ? If so should I wait for a warm day to prevent breaking the clips?
View 3 RepliesNoticed this afternoon that as it got dark outside, all dash and door lights aren't working.
The gauge cluster lights, VERY dimly, but delays by appx 2 seconds before coming on? Only switch light that still works right is the Red ring on the Headlight switch.
Again this is all lights, except lights in headliner work fine, gauge cluster lights very dimly with a delay?
My 04' FX4 rear door locks hesitate to open with the key fob or the door switch. I can get them to open sometimes but not every time. Why this is happening?
View 6 RepliesSince yesterday the power door locks on my '98 Accord LX (Sedan) are not working. I noticed that it happened after I started the car and it died on me. I tried it again but this time with my foot on accelerator and it started fine. I started driving and then noticed the locks weren't operational. They were fine before this episode.
- When I press the power door lock button on driver or passenger side nothing happens (usually it locks all four doors)
- Manaul locking is fine
- When I lock the car with key it doesn't lock all the door (it only locks the door I'm at - driver or passenger). This is supposed to lock all doors too.
I looked at the interior fuse box on Passenger side and the door locks fuse looks ok (#12). I also swapped it with passenger side power window fuse and the window still worked so I guess it's fine. what I can look at next? I read the the actuator might be a problem (I don't know what it is but I'm willing to give it a shot). Looking at Honda Manual looks like there are multiple actuators (one per door I think) and it doesn't feel like everything would conk off together.
I have a 2003 f350 6.0 diesel crew cab. The outside door trim that runs about a 1/4 way up from the bottom off the door is falling off. I was wondering what was the best way to re-attach them.
View 2 RepliesI seen a thread on here about putting rubber tubing in your door seals to stop drafts. What size tubing is used?
View 13 RepliesI had my passenger side window replaced, and the car now has a strong smell of adhesive. I have left the windows open for a week, and the smell just gets stronger.
View 4 RepliesI've got a 2006 F250 5.4l Super Cab. When I bought the truck the rear interior door trim panels were missing. I tried to order them straight from ford but it turns out they no longer carry them, and I can't seem to find them anywhere online. I've also looked at the salvage yards in my area- nothing. Where I would be able to find these elusive creatures?
View 3 RepliesHow can I take the below door chrome trim off? I started wrapping one in 5d carbon fiber and I am about to take it off and start again. It would be so much easier if i could snap these off.
View 13 RepliesAs long as we are mentioning things, the trim/gasket around my rear doors on my 08 Santa Fe does not fit right. You can see it in the attached photo. The gasket is one piece, and there is no way to arrange the slack so that there is not a gap. Maybe someone used the wrong one at the factory, or is this a common/known problem? I'll ask about it the next time I'm in the dealer.
View 18 RepliesMy driver door lock is broken, key won't turn and the outside handle is bust too. So today I took the trim off to have a look at what is going on. I put it all back together (had to unplug all the door electrics, put them back together no problem), and saw that the hazard lights are all glowing, not flashing. I started the car, turned it off, went inside to google the hazard lights.
When I came back and tried to start it again, it wouldn't start. The stereo said "SAFE" and the brake system warning light - red (!) - is on and beeps 3 times. I locked and unlocked the central locking with the key beeper, tried to start the car again, this time no "SAFE" on the stereo, but still the beeping and the no starting and the hazards glowing... Just bought the car a couple of weeks ago.
I'm looking for the process to remove the exterior black glossy b pillar trim on the front door. My wife decided to open my door against a ladder and it has a 3mm scratch that's going to big the piss out of me so I'm looking to replace it. Also looking for the PN as well.
View 2 RepliesI just got projector lamps with Halos and LED fog lights for my 2004 Camry I tapped all the wires for the halo and the led fog lights to the parking light. Did it correctly, positives to positive and grounds to ground. However The halos and led fog lights aren't lighting up. I tested and it is getting power but I suspect its because the parking lights get 6v and only get 12v for the turn signal.
how to wire these? Maybe straight to the battery with a switch?
Car's an '05 SE 4 cyl. Camry. The silicone strip on the passenger's side door chrome trim is coming off, and I was wondering what my options are for fixing this? Can I somehow push it back into place and have it stay there? Is it torn or simply coming off? Is it purely aesthetic or does it serve any other purpose?
View 14 RepliesSo the black weatherstrip that goes around the door falls off along the bottom of the door (especially the driver's side) like once or twice every year? I've had the dealer replaced brand new ones twice already and re-glue them another 2-3 times but seems like it just wont' hold on to the door. Now I am out of warranty and the weatherstrip just fell off again, try to see if there's any solutions to this.
View 5 RepliesHow do I disable the chime (2008 F150) that sounds when the key is in the ignition and the door is open? I'd like to keep the chime that sounds when the lights are left on and the door is open. Is it possible to accomplish both objectives?
And, on the off chance that someone from Ford ever looks at these forums: It would sure be nice if you designed the audible warnings with either a timer in the circuit (so it would sound for a few seconds and then stop); or, provide a cancel button for the chime (as is common in commercial and military aircraft).
Alright, I, like alot of people with these trucks have the rust under their fuel doors from what ive seen and heard is the fuel neck filler plastic vibrating and rubbing, wearing throught the paint allowing water and fuel drips in and getting under the paint.
Well i keep touching up my spots but i have to do it twice a year and it just keeps getting worse, so i decided to go a bit further and clean it, touch it up, and protect it. This is a low $ job. Its not perfect but it is definately better than rust and from a couple feet back you can barely notice it, and hopefully this will be the last time i have to touch it up.

2004 4x4 super crew cab. Door locks don't work from switches, touch pad on drivers ext. door or with key fob. I checked the fuses and both the 10 amp and 30amp fuses are good. Where do I go from here. some time ago I had the submerged wiring issue and corroded connections in the bottom of the rear door rail. Could it be the same issue in the front door?
