My reverse lights do not work and it is not due to the bulbs. Guy at autozone said it is the neutral safety switch. Does this sound correct? And I have done work on my truck myself, is this a difficult fix? I went ahead and bought the part, but can take it back if too hairy.

View 9 RepliesFor our new pontoon with surge brakes I need to add reverse lights to the wiring harness to deactivate the surge brakes while backing up. What is the proper way of doing this? BTW this is on an 06 F150 XLT with factory 7 pin harness.
View 4 RepliesI have a 2006 King Ranch and right tail and brake lights don't work. The bulb is good. The fuse diagram in the owners manual is not the fuse box I have, so I cannot id the correct fuse to see if its bad.

View 3 RepliesI have an 02 f350 XL. The other day it rained and all of my rear lights went haywire. All problems are out back.
- Step on brakes, high mount, and lic plate lights light up with brakes.
- Turn on marker lights and the high mount lights up and the tails and lic plate lights dim.
- Marker lights on, apply brakes, and the tails and lic plates lights go out on bed, high mount activates.
- Use turn signals with markers off and all of the rear lights including high mount flash..
- Reverse lights dim or dont work at all.
I have tried a new MF switch, checked all fuses. cleaned rear frame ground. took apart brake switch and cleaned it. non tilt column but checked wires. replaced flasher. unplugged brake light switch and headlight switch, problem is still there. removed trailer relays, no luck. checked all chassis plugs. disconnected TRS.
I should mention i have 12v cummins swap and a pcs with standalone harness. no problems over the last few months since swap until it rained last monday.
Ok so the GMC has another one of those tiny issues that we all hate to have. I don't know if its been this way since I bought it or if its just since we pulled the transmission to put on a new clutch, but my reverse lights don't work. Every other light on the truck works and I checked the bulbs and the fuses and found nothing. I even checked to see if the sensor wire was hooked up to the transmission since we pulled it out and it is.
I have an online subscription to Chilton's and have looked at the wiring diagrams time and time again and can't figure this one out. my real question at this point is how the switch in the transmission works, can I just rewire a bit and direct wire through it or does it have to go through the main harness somehow. the details on the truck are as follows: 1994 GMC K1500 5 speed 350 TBI.

My reverse light switch bit the dust and I'm trying to find the OEM part number. Would it be the same part as the MK4 R32 for our O2M 6spd trans? (Part #: 02T945415P)

2008 sport trac .... I have replaced all the bulbs and fuses but the tail lights will not work or the license plate lights. but the blinkers and brake lights work fine....
View 4 RepliesToyota corolla 2013 automatic gear reverse lights don't work after I installed new stereo it's my fault i shorted 12v positive backup (reverse) light trigger camera stereo v12+ cable to ground while backup (gear R) in place. As a result reserve lights don't work beside gear indicator doesn't show on main screen. I can drive without problem but problem still intact.
I checked all fuses and they are all okay I need to identify problem or possible repair too I only find 2 fuses behind glove box i think they call "instrument panel" there are bunch of cable and underneath of cables there is only 2 rectangle shape fuses I could not see anything else, the other fuse box is in engine compartment i thoroughly tested each small fuses they are all okay is there anything else i forgot to check ?

View 1 RepliesI have an '04 F150 with 160,000 miles, and I've never had any issues until yesterday. I bought it brand new in '04. It is my daily driver, and normal service and maintenance had been maintained. It has never towed anything, and was used to haul small loads when I remodeled my house. In the last 5 years it hasn't seen any workload. Saturday, I hauled large load of sand 7 miles with no issues. Yesterday, I was leaving work, and reverse was not working. The exact symptom is, going to Park to Reverse always works. Going from N,D,2,1 to Reverse never works. I'm hoping this is an easy fix, and not tranny related.
View 2 RepliesMy F-150 has started acting up again. About 2 months ago it randomly stalled a few times and I narrowed it down to the Fuel pump driver module which was band and I have since replaced. Truck ran fine up until the middle of this past week. Now it runs good at idle, but as soon as I put it into reverse, the engine stalls. I do know that my 4x4 isnt engaging due to a suspect vaccum leak. Could a vacuum leak be causing the stalling as well. The 4x4 not locking in issue predated the stalling issue.
View 4 RepliesI just recently got a 2004 f150 5.4, and it was running good it just had a random jump in RPMs low high low high, so I went to autozone and the code read it was my IAC but they said it might be my MAF sensor that was dirty so i bought MAF cleaner and cleaned the sensor and the plugs on the tps and also cleaned the throttle body and it worked no more rpm bouncing. But then I had to turn on another project. I had and took the battery out of the f150 after about 30min.
I reinstalled the battery i turned the truck on and turned on fine but i put it in gear and the gas pedal didn't response it would just go to the floor so i thought i might of damaged the gas pedal sensor so I went to my local junk yard and bought another one and same thing the mechanic down the street said i had to reprogram the computer and buy a new throttle body but i keep reading it might be the tps and I might have to calibrate it. Its my first ever Ford....
My problem is my right front axle (cv shaft) when in 2wd and engine running will not turn, everything else will as it should. in 4wd engine running nothing moves... if i jack up tire engine off right side makes a clicking noise kinda like the wheel of fortune wheel (from the tv show) <<<just in case. 4WD does not work when engaged, by that i mean they dont pull like there not locked in....
View 3 RepliesI have a 2008 Camry 4 LE. My turn blinkers and reverse lights have stopped working and i'm 90% its a bad relay. I have checked all fuses and they are good. I just have a problem locating the relay. I think i saw it right above the fuse box under the dash in the driver side but i'm not 100% sure.
