Door panel has been off a few times to see what is up. drove it down the road a few times with the panel OFF to see if I could find the rattle...and it was quiet. when the panel goes back on, rattle comes back.
Now...where should I look at? is it one of the lock/door latch rods vibrating against the panel? that is about the only thing I can figure...
I've spent a lot of time and money putting in nice speakers and audio equipment in my 2009 forester. I also got all of the rattles and vibrations out of the interior except for the passenger side door. I've used sound dampening and checked everything I can, but somewhere on the door panel there is a vibration that I can't find. So, the only thing I can think of its too seal the various seams on the interior of the panel with something. .. caulk or glass sealant?

View 6 RepliesA thin blanket is caught in the lock of the rear hatch door. I have removed the cover on the utility box inside the car, and moved the lever but that did not work. I can hear the mechanism working when pressing the unlock but the door does not release. I tried pulling the blanket but it does not budge. I don't want to cut the blanket away because I could not reach what is stuck in the mechanism.
View 3 RepliesMy driver door is just loose enough to rattle on bumps and it's quite annoying. I've loosened the striker and tapped it in as far as it'll go with the hammer and it is still not tight enough. I need about 1/4 inch more and that's about how worn my striker is. Obviously I need to buy new a new striker based on the wear, but am I the only one with strikers wearing too much to be adjusted and causing rattles ?

View 4 RepliesI just bought a 2004 Ford F150 supercrew, and I noticed that the rear passenger power locks don't work.
- I can manually lock and unlock the door. But when I try to use the powerlocks, nothing happens at all.
- I have powerlock controls on both front doors and when I try to lock/unlock all the doors, they all work properly besides that rear passenger door.
- I have checked all fuzes, they are fine.
I realize it could be the actuator? But, I can manually lock/unlock the door with no problem, so could it still be that? How do I troubleshoot to see if it is the actuator or just a wiring problem.
I have all the tools and a meter, just don't know how to troubleshoot the problem! I've done a lot of googling about this and there isn't really anything I've seen on troubleshooting to see if its wiring or actuator.
Just bought an 06' f-150 about a month ago everything was in working order and now lone behold a problem. Not sure if it is significant or not but a problem is a problem none the less. To start the driver side door will no longer unlock either door, replaced the switch hoping/thinking it was just faulty but still no luck, tried to unlock and lock it from the passenger side to make sure that it isn't the actuators and confirmed that it is not the problem so I am left wondering what could it be? Was thinking maybe a relay? or a fuse? but Where the relay would be and it wouldn't make sense to me being a fuse for unlock and another separate fuse for lock.
Next battery died after a week of sitting, checked the battery and alternator to make sure that it wasn't those to blame for the problem and both were fine. I know that there is a after market security system on the truck and that is the suspect thus far to being the Drain I am Having, still yet to hook up a multi meter to see how big of a drain it is though. third is that the CD player does not turn on nor do the lights turn on once you shut the truck off and open the door, I have to manually turn the CD player off to keep it from draining the battery even more. Feel like I fell for a little trap buying from the dealership. trying to work something out with them but until I hear back I am still trying to make amends.
Any good fix for the door panel rattle caused by bass from the stereo? I've had the car to the dealership twice and it hasn't been fixed either time. It's not the door trim it's the actual panel, if you push right below and to the front of the arm rest it stops. Turning the bass down is not an option, if it's not meant to be up that far they shouldn't have made it that way. How hard is the door panel to remove? Also is there a fix for the seatbelt adjuster rattle?

Driver door lock: (OK)
- Opening door when in locked state by using latch, works
- Manually toggling lock/unlock on the door works
- Power door lock switch locks and unlocks door
Front passenger door lock: (Issue)
- Opening door when in locked state by using latch, works
- Power door lock switch on this door or driver door, does NOT lock/unlock door
- Manually toggling lock/unlock on the door works
Rear right door lock: (Intermittent Issue)
- Opening door when in locked state by using latch, works
- Power door lock switch on driver and passenger doors intermittently fail to lock/unlock this door
- Manually toggling lock/unlock on the door works
Rear left door lock: (Issue)
- Opening door when in locked state by using latch, does NOT open the door
- Power door lock switch on driver and passenger door does NOT lock/unlock this door
- Manually toggling lock/unlock on the door works
What specific parts would need to be replaced?
I'm trying to get the door pin rods out of my GTI. Mine don't look like those in the Brody mod DIY... the ends (inside the door) are really long and twisty. ? I'd rather not cut them...

View 4 RepliesI hear the electrical activity of the door lock mechanism.....locking and unlocking the door but the door latch is "frozen" closed and will not release. Inner and/or exterior door handles fail to release the latch no matter how many times they are pulled. Red Led on the top of the door pannel functions normally.

I snapped in the new mirror and everything works properly, but the mirror vibrates so badly you can't see. Somewhere there was mention of a clip to dampen vibration.
View 3 RepliesI just bought an 2006 f150 4x4 with a 5.4l 3valve, and this morning when I pulled into work it was idling Rough as I let off the gas and rolled into my parking spot. No check engine light or nothing, just when it's in gear Rpm is at 600-700 and vibrating. When I shifted it into neutral or park it went away and the engine ran smooth. According to the oil pressure gauge I've got good flow. I was told from the dealer that they replaced the cam phasers, timing chain and put new spark plugs in it. What the issue is here?
