On my 2004 F-150 (new style) the passenger seat belt will not release. What steps do I need to take to find the retractible mechanism in the back portion of the seat? Does one have to cut the fabric? I removed the head rest and the top portion where the belt rides but can't locate the retractible part.

View 14 RepliesI have been using it a lot over the last 2 years since I bought my 2005 3.0 TDi. Love the car, have had a few issues but nothing major. I do now have an issue with the seat belt height adjustment in the passenger side. It will go down, but not up....slightly annoying as you can imagine. When I press the button to raise the belt, nothing happens. Seat are 18 ways ventilated massage seats.

View 7 RepliesI have a 3 year old that sits behind my passenger seat and I put the seat all the way front and leaning forward so she doesn't kit the seat (and mess up the back of the seat with her dirty shoes).
The problem is, she then has a habit of kicking the seatbelt that is dangling on the side because it's fun to pull daddy's chain while he's driving. So I pulled the seatbelt over the headrest of the passenger seat to move it out of her way.
Now the seatbelt is tight and I can't get it to release so I can pull it off the headrest. How to release the tension? If not, how do I remove the bottom panels to get at the mounting bolt so I can just unbolt it and take it off?
I have a Sonata 2008 4 cyl. I started getting Airbag and passenger seat-belt signs blinking. Whenever a passengers seats the seat-belt light does not blink, but airbag warning on my dashboard is still turned on. I went to the dealer and they told me to replace the cushion for the passenger.

It feels like an exhaust vibration transferred through the floor connection of the seat belt. How can I get rid of it ? Can disable seat belt ringer? Today I got in my truck put it in reverse and sat for a moment and the damn ringer came on for the belt then drove down the drive way and it came on again. There was no need for the belt seeing that I was just moving trailers around the yard. I had a few Rangers and a Bronco that I was just able to reach down and pull the ringer out but I also had a Ranger that had the speaker build on to a circuit board I ended up putting bondo in that one made it real quite.
View 6 RepliesFor a long time my 2004 regular cab truck has a quirk that both the driver (and passenger if present) must click their seat belts before starting the truck. If not, the seat belt chime and light flash, even though the seat belt light is off when the alarm is not sounding.
Even if the truck is in park, and the passenger gets out of the truck and back again with the engine running, once in drive it will start the seat belt alarm with everybody properly buckled.
A few months ago I was driving to work and the airbag light started to flash.
I took the truck in for the air bag wiring harness recall, and the airbag light did not flash since then, and for a little while the seatbelt problem went away.
1 month later the seat belt quirk was back again.
This past weekend the 5x5 air bag alert started. I checked previous posts, and confirmed that my air bag light does not ever light on my dash. I don't remember if it ever came on once the recall was "fixed".
My gut feel is that the wiring to the light is fine, and that this is a wiring problem in the harness. I saw a post that made a vague reference to the air bag sensor under the center console and the seat belt circuit and could find no more.
Looking for a wiring diagram? If the airbag light is out, does the 5x5 alert supposed to indicate that the bulb is burned out, or that the bulb is out AND there is an airbag fault?
About 6 weeks ago my 2004 4.6 scab had a glitch in that when you got going the seat belt warning chimes came on, to clear it stop at the next junction turn off re start and away you go. Now today its moved a step further on, the airbag not working light flashes and then stops on, but no seat belt chimes?

I have a unique situation:
•No passenger: light is "Airbag" - No red flashing seat belt sign
•Passenger with seat belt: light is "Airbag" - No red flashing seat belt sign
•Passenger with no seat belt: light is "Airbag" - No red flashing seat belt sign
I have no other warning lights on the dash.
I tried to check to check if there are any loose wires/connectors under the passenger seat but everthing looks ok.
Is there a blown fuse?
How to disable the seat belt alarm on a 2008 Lexus RX 350? I tried the "reset odometer" method and that doesn't work. I also took the car to a Toyota dealer and a former Lexus technician could not disable it via computer. This alarm is annoying!
View 14 RepliesSo it seems as if either the switch in the driver's side seat belt indicator is sticking (off, indicating my seat belt is NOT fastened even though it is), or it's broken. Although, it doesn't do this EVERY time I fasten my seat belt, it's doing it more frequently. I have to refasten it (multiple times) to get it to see it's fastened.

Mine reads sometimes, but other times I get the airbag warning light, so I need to replace it.
So I was trying to track down this squeak noise and I removed the drivers side seat belt but now the belt will not retract? It's stuck like this, is there a manual release? Buying another one is not a option right now. And I have to drive the car tomorrow morning.

View 1 RepliesLooking for recommendations for a well fitting seat cover for this series of trucks? My driver's side is tearing (12 years of people dragging their rear ends across it will do that) and the foam cushion is starting to lose small pieces. I try to stand on the running board when getting in/out to minimize wear on the seat, but I'm just delaying the inevitable, not preventing it. I bought a set at Autozone, but it's going back because it doesn't fit properly and that makes it look, well, kind of tacky.
I've tried a few local scrap yards, but nobody has a matching seat in my interior color that isn't already wearing out. Autozone or any other retailer just carry universal fit covers, which don't fit well enough to look appealing. My only other option is to have it re-upholstered, but I have a feeling that might be on the spendy side.
So my passenger seat belt looks twisted. The little "tongue" on the inside is still pointing towards the pillar but the belt itself is twisted and hard turns it hits the plastic and makes noise. I tried twisting it and running the buckle through it. That didn't do the trick.
