My Odometer will not show me my miles any more , I have my mph but not the miles any more . I was wondering if I can just get a new Odometer or if I should take it to someone to fix or is thus something I can do. I work on Rv all day so I do understand most but electrical is my weak link...

View 4 RepliesI have a 2004 Nissan Quest SE. We were on a trip and drove 15 hours to Florida which was a 870 mile trip. We had 104,440 miles on the van when we left, validated by the dealer service records and our own notes to track MPG. We arrived in FL and didn't notice the odometer. The van remained parked for 4 days. Upon leaving, we noticed it had 115,310 miles on the odometer. Upon checking the trip computer (setting 1), it did not reflect this 10k mile gain. The trip computer also didn't reflect a change in MPG with the additional 10k miles. The trip computer (setting 2) hasn't been reset in a very long time as we don't use it. and continued to show a total mileage just over 4k miles, therefore, also not reflecting this 10k mile gain in the odometer.What would cause this jump of 10k miles on the odometer?

She brought it in to see what happened etc all is fine and she starts to drive home and the odometer is reading roughly 30,000 miles less then when she brought it in...
View 8 RepliesThis is regarding a 2008 F150 - STX. The light that illuminates the odometer is out. I saw the procedure to get to it on Alldata and it looks pretty easy. Next I went to the bulb chart in the user's manual and it said, for any instrument lamp replacement, see the dealer.
I called my local dealer and he said that they were some special kind of bulb but that he was out of stock. I know they can usually get these things quickly but I figured that auto parts stores would have them. It appears I was wrong. I looked on Autozone's web p-age and they show every bulb.... except instrument panel bulbs.
It appears the odometer backlight problem has been around for a long time, aon many models. 2007 f150 Supercrew? Just had the engine replaced under warrenty at 35600 miles. Just as soon as I get 50 miles out of warranty the the odometer light goes out.
View 14 RepliesI have a 2006 F-150 S/Crew and I seem to have the same intermittant odometer problem as many of the folks in that 1999-2003 group. The odometer comes and goes, flashes intermittantly and sometimes doesn't work for days.
Can it be repaired in the same fashion as those older units? The dealer is more than willing to sell me a new cluster (obviously). They say that there is "no way to possibly repair those odometer problems and we see them all the time."

Odometer display quit on me. This is the co.pass and temp as well. I have also noticed that when I come to a complete stop and then take off a again, the auto lock feature activates like I had put it in park and then back to drive. Thinking I could have an electrical issue here.
Odometer light on my 07 f150 was coming on and off,read the thread here on how to change bulb. Got that done no problem but the odometer is now blank. Read the thread saying it was a common issue and to look for a bad or broken soder. My problem is i can't figure out how to get the circuit board off of the cluster after i pull off all the bulbs and screws. My local ford service dept wants to replace entire cluster at a hefty price.
View 2 RepliesAs the title states, my odometer back light works just fine, but nothing displays on it. No mileage reading, no nothing. How to fix it? Found plenty about fixing the back light, but can't find anything similar to this issue.
I've had the battery off for 30-40 minutes and the issue persists after restarting.

I have 2005 FX4 the odometer/temp display is flashing on and off like there is a loose connection the green back drop stay lit it's the black numbers is flashing on off it doesn't mater if it's running or in key on this is what I got ?
View 1 RepliesI already searched and seemed to only find info about, no backlight but lcd readout was still working. My backlight reacts to the lights being turned off and on; so I know it works but just no numbers. I noticed it on the way to work after the truck had been sitting in the hot sun for a while but When I got off work after dark around 11:00pm it worked all the way on the drive home, but I went to grab a bite and it no longer worked. I figure it could have something to do with sitting in the heat? It's the stx cluster with only the speedo and no tac if that makes a difference. I really don't want to have to drop cash on a new cluster.
View 12 RepliesMy gf has a 2007 F-150 XLT Scab 5.4 2x4 and ever since she got the truck (bought used) the odometer back light has never worked. I know it was a common problem with the previous generation trucks to have a bad solder joint to cause this. I'm assuming that with these newer trucks the back light is LED, so chances are the bulbs are fine.

View 7 RepliesMy 2005 STX 4x4 was running fine until yesterday, then on my way home I lost all forward power. The odometer displayed TRANS FAULT and the O/D OFF light was blinking. Limped home.... Today I checked the fluid level and it was a little high, so I ciphoned some out. I read a lot of posts about the same problem which lead me to my local autozone to have them put a code reader on it. Unlike all of the other posts, NO codes came up.
According to the scanner, my truck is fine. I was hoping to get some kind of "P" code to target the problem, but no such luck. I checked all the fuses and they are fine. What should I do now? I don't really want to take it to the dealer, fearing that they will automatically say I need a new tranny without checking everything else first.
My odometer has quit working but sometimes will run a few miles. The truck has about 100,000 miles on it and the speedometer works fine.

-the odometer display flashes on and off, the warmer it is outside the less it stays on
-heater blower doesn't work when the switch is on number one position, works fine on other positions
-power mirrors don't work neither side
I have recently noticed that the ODO meter of the car does not work i.e. it is stuck at the reading (57735 km) it was on when I got the car and does not record/show the increase in mileage. the trip A and B are working perfectly fine. I took the car to the local Toyota dealer but he has no clue what is wrong with it, the guy there suggested that ECU is working fine but the ODO meter is damaged and needs replacement.
I am not sure what the guy at the dealership suggested is correct because what i think is that if ODO gets damaged then the whole speedo meter should mal function.
I have a 2013 Prius Wagon. Have noticed that I can go into the General setting and should be able to change from kilometers to miles. Go through all the steps, selecting miles as the new option, and then nothing happens. There is no screen to save settings, so nothing happens.
On the other hand why would those smart apples designing this system just not link to whole process to the button on the dash that changes the speedometer function. Just like it did in my 2005 Malibu!!!
Just bought a 2000 Passat GLX 4Motion wagon. It originally came from the US, thus, has the mph speedometer and the odometer is in miles. I
So, VAGCOM can adjust the odometer from miles to kilometers? Also, any info on where I might be able to get a instrument cluster in kph?
I have a 2011 Camry LE. I took it to have the oil changed today. The odometer was around 46,000 miles and that's what the service guy put in the computer. After the service was completed, the guy leaned in the car and had me turn the keys 2 clicks while he pressed the odometer button to reset the oil change light. It took him a few tries before he said "ok, got it." Afterwards, I noticed the odometer was reading 40,000. I showed it to him, and he had no explanation for what happened. Neither did anyone else that worked there. I called my local Toyota and they had never heard of that happening.
