I have a 2006 F150 and the left rear turn signal and brake light has quit working. Also the license plate lights do not work. The cruise will disconnect when signalling a left turn. I have checked fuses and bulbs and the wiring/connector at the multifunction switch with no luck.

View 6 Replies85 f150. My driver side brake light and turn signal in the back quit working. The tail light works tho which is a different filament. The bulb is good and I changed the flasher relay...the circle thing in the fuse panel. Everything else works just fine. looking for a starting point.
View 7 RepliesMy wife's 2003 sportrac has developed a problem. The left rear turn signal brake light will not work. The tail light does. When you turn on the left turn signal the front bulb and the dash light flashes real fast. I have changed both, the front and rear bulbs with no luck. I've read on here about the tilt steering column deal. I have moved the steering column while operating the turn signal with no change.
View 4 RepliesTurn signals quit working on my 2006 E-150. Swapped out the relay under the dash and it did nothing. Also noticed the brake lights aren't working. The headlights and taillight a are working. I pulled the fuses under dash for the lights and they tested ok. I did notice the flasher relay was making clicking sounds intermittently even when not touching anything.
View 3 RepliesI just bought an 05 F250 XLT. I noticed tonight that the rear turn signals and brake lights dont work.
the front turn signals work fine, although they flash fast. I know that usually means a light on its way out. neither taillight flashes though, which puzzles me.
my second issue is that, of the 3 brake lights, only the high mounted light illuminates when I hit the brakes.

Last week wife's right rear turn signal/brake light stopped working. The left one flashes normally. The right tail light works fine which is a different bulb. I tried changing bulbs (didn't work).....tried a new socket with new and old bulb (didn't work). Could it be a relay? Or not relay as they would be both out (left and right)?
I looked at my trailering wiring plug down by bumper and the white wire with green stripe looks split a little towards the end. Could it be a bad ground or short in that wire? Would the trailering wiring have anything to do with it? I was going to try to replace the relay if I could find it, what is the part number for it.
My rear passengers side turn signal is not working. The bulb is lit up when i have my parking lights on so i know that th bulb is good. So my guess is that there is a voltage issue. I have searched the web for a wiring diagram and have come up empty handed.
View 2 RepliesI have a 2005 F-150 and the tail lights and turn signals stopped working. Only the park light seems to work and it very dim. I replaced the bulbs and that did not fix the problem, so I checked with a volt meter and I'm only getting 6 volts to the socket. Fuses appear to be good.
View 1 RepliesI have a unique problem with my newly acquired 71 F250. The left brake does illuminate when the brake is pressed but when the right turn signal if activated the left brake light does come on. The left flasher light also does not work. All other rear ligh function are normal. I am assuming I have a short or a wiring issue just wanted to know if there was any common item that might be know about this topic. The bulbs are all new. The reverse lights do not work either but pretty for sure its unrelated.

Right (passenger) turn signal/brake light is not illuminating. The tail light on the right side does illuminate when headlights are on. (Same Bulb) All other lights are functioning properly.
When the MFS is in the right turn position the right arrow on the dash flashes and clicks faster than normal.
This happened about a month ago and it turned out to be a blown fuse. The fuse was for the trailer lighting and right turn/stop light, found in the small fuse box under the hood that only holds 2 fuses. Problem solved temporarily...
Now the issue is back, Here are some things I've tried so far:
Replaced the fuse again; Turns out the fuse didn't blow this time, but I tried a new one anyway.
Cleaned the ground for the rear light wiring harness.
Replaced the bulb.
Replaced the relay.
Checked continuity on multi-function switch, right turn position reads 2.8 ohms IIRC
Repaired pin #5 on the multi-function switch wiring connector (wire backed out, right turn related)
Replaced the bulb socket.
Inspected the wiring for broken insulation/exposed wires from that socket to under the hood, didn't find anything exposed. All wires are still in the loom.
I replaced this wiring harness and wiring looms about 6 months ago because the previous owner had done a hideous splice job for unknown reasons, so it should be ok. Should I get a new multi-function switch, or try something else? If the switch doesn't work what's the next step?
As the says I have a 1999 Yukon Denali that the Rear Brake and Turn signal on Drivers side are not working. Also brake light on trailer DOES work but not the turn signal on that side.
I tested the Tail light circuit by plugging it into the passenger side and it works so that rules out that. What wires to test under the dash to test the combo / multi switch?
Also the tail lights or park light do work (both top and middle bulb lights up when the vehicle is running) its just brighter filament does not light up when breaks are pressed or turn signal is on.
I have a 2004 V8, still running strong at over 101,550 miles. Aside from two strange warnings, it's a total blast to drive. It's especially fun to shock people with the interior, since most people just think it looks like a big Passat. They probably thing it's a bit large for a VW, roll their eyes, and then move on their lives, mistaking one of the most underrated cars in history for Germany's answer to the Toyota Avalon. However, all that is not really relevant right now.
What's relevant is that it randomly complains that there is some malfunction in the left rear signal. Specifically, it's the left rear one. Funnily enough, when it happens, the left rear signal starts working again after restarting the car, removing the key before doing so in order to restart the onboard computer systems. What's going on?
A second, significantly-less annoying problem is that it randomly complains that one of the tires is flat (probably the spare), even though the spare tire is properly-inflated. Once it happens, the car has to be rebooted in order to get rid of the warning, which always happens within five minutes of starting the car.
Needless to say, other that the above, it's a blast to drive.
Experienced problems with their right taillight, both brake and turn signal light stopped working. This occurs intermittently. I have replaced my rear license plate lights with error free leds .
View 4 RepliesI just picked up a 2004 F150 FX4 Supercab, I had a safety inspection done and am working through some of the issues.
The turn signal indicator on the passenger side mirror is not working (front and rear indicators work). I took the mirror apart and get no voltage to the led array, next I pulled the rubber boot off of the harness in the door jam and probed the wires while with a test light and found one of the wires would blink the test lest light but the colour didn't match the the turn signal array, it matched the heated mirror wire. I probed at the heated mirror connector at the mirror and sure enough it blinks! Then I notice that the heated mirror indicator light on the center dash is blinking? I push the heated mirror button below the indicator light and ALL turn signals (front and rear) stop.
I searched the forum for mirror turn signal issues and found a thread about corroded wire splice below the fuse panel. I checked and have no splice all look ok so I thought I would post and see if I can get some direction or a schematic.
The symptoms are :
- Passenger side mirror turn signal(right turn) indicator does not work
- front and rear turn signal indicators work
- power seat works
- fuses are good
- drivers side all turn signals work fine
- heated mirror indicator light on the dash blinks with the passenger side turn signal
- pushing the heated mirror button when turn signals are flashing (right turn) results in a solid heated mirror indicator light but all other right turn signal indicator stop blinking (off)
It seems to me that there must be a short between the two circuits but where?
I'm having problems with my left turn signal not working. It sounds like it's blinking super fast from inside the vehicle, the left turn dash light does not illuminate, and the outside front bulb does not blink. When I turn my emergency flashers on, the left front still doesn't work, but all others do. All the other bulbs are in working order. I searched through some old threads on this and couldn't find much other than to replace the bulb and bulb housing, which I did with no luck.

View 3 RepliesMy left side rear blinker/ brake light is not working. The running/taillight side/filment of the bulb works, but the brake/blinker side/filament does nothing ! Just bought the truck used and it's my only issue, waiting on a owners manual, but I think each bulb is fused separate, and since half the bulb works, can I rule out the fuse and start chasing wires ??
View 5 RepliesIn my case, from a stop, when I accelerate only in a turn left or right I get a shudder and shake from my rear end and it seems to be worse when the truck or air temp is colder.
well I went with the most basic thing first, popped the diff cover off, drained all the fluid, wiped out as much as I could get out of the collection area in the bottom. put a new gasket on and a little rtv, replaced cover. pulled the plug and cleaned off the shavings from the magnet and put new oil in it (I used Valvoline 75-90 with the friction modifier already in it, said limited slip right on the bottle)
test drove it around the block about a hundred times making left and right turns and the shudder and shake seemed to constantly decrease until it was perfectly smooth and noiseless!!! so that seemed to be an easy fix however I will report back to see what happens when I take it out cold in the morning.

View 1 RepliesI have a 2004 F150 XLT and the passenger side tail light doesn't work whatsoever. The light does work for hazards, turn signal, or when braking. The passenger front turn signal works, so does the front and the driver sides tail light. Only the 1 tail light doesn't work. I bought a new brake light bulb and it didnt't fix it, so i swapped the drivers and passengers bulbs out, and it still didn't work. I replaced the 10 amp fuse (#36) in the fuse box. What is causing the problem.
