View 1 RepliesSo when I got my car a couple months ago there was this problem where the backup camera wouldn't come on every now and then when I shifted into reverse so I decided to get it fixed under warranty. the dealership said the problem had to do with the whole infotainment system or something so they gave me a whole new center console and navigation screen for some reason but after I got my car back a couple days ago it was working fine up until today where the back up camera won't even come on at all anymore. I've driven the car about 5 different times today and the backup camera never came on once.
View 3 RepliesI have a 2006 Prius with a Back Up camera, but I am not sure if it is just a back up camera or if sensors are suppose to make noise if i get close to another car. Is there suppose to be a sensor in the bumper or was it not included?
View 1 RepliesIn my 2009 standard prius, the back up camera often, maybe 50% of the time, is just black. It has some scrolling look, and sometimes i can see a faint image of whats there. The warning text on the screen is still there, and I am positive the is plenty of light, and nothing blocking the camera.
Its almost as if the TV rabbit ears need some adjustment. Flickery images, images literally scrolling left to right, etc. Other times, its perfect. Where do i start? loose wires somewhere?
I am thinking of trying to install a back-up camera on my 06 CRV. Anything I might do wrong that would cause me other electrical problems after. I imagine there would be install instructions with it.

Also, is there a concern of voiding a warranty?
2004 F150 FX4. Installing a sub on my truck - amp location. I am thinking of putting it under the dash on the drivers side. It will be behind the brake pedal, but way out of the way - like towards the corner.

I've replaced all 8 of my truck's injectors in the hope of curing a rough idle and high long term fuel trims. How long should it take for the ECU to adjust all the fuel trims to account for the new injectors? Or is it best to disconnect the battery for 30min or so in order to reset the ECU and allow it to learn trims from scratch?

will the wireless camera work good or is it better to get a wired one? Sounds like the gps system included maps for Canada & US. I am not sure if the camera will fit properly on this car or will it stick out. Also whether running a wire from the mirror to the camera will be challenging.

I just purchased a 2011 Escape to live with my 7.3 Excursion. I want to install a BU camera in the Escape. The mirror has wiring to it, do not know why.Can I use that exiting wiring? What was it for and where does it go?
View 1 RepliesI have a 2011 F-150 Super Crew and have had to replace the back up camera due to a malfunction. Once the dealer replaced it under warranty I was no longer able to get all the options that the previous camera had. Since then the 2nd camera went bad and I just had it replaced again. This new camera still is missing 2 of the options the original camera had. The dealer now tells me that they must have been deleted off the software on the replacement cameras. They were unable to verify that through Ford though.

I would like to use the wire from the stereo and connect it to the steering column wire for reverse, but can't seem to locate it. I read other places that it is a black wire with a pink stripe, but I can't find that color under the dash.
View 3 RepliesI have an 08 RX350 with navigation and premium sound. I bought a Kenwood DDX8901HD radio along with the TYTO-01 interface and the ASWC-1 to try and keep my steering wheel controls. I removed my old radio easy enough. Installed the TYTO-01 made all the connections and now I have NO NAVIGATION ANYMORE NOR DO I HAVE AC. It says check AC connection.
View 12 RepliesInstalled one of the wireless bu cams from Pep boys earlier this year. Anyhow it hooks to the bu lights and has a pwr source from the fuse box. Works ok, but every now and again it will flicker while I am driving down the road, is also slow to illuminate when reverse is engaged. What the issue may be? Its a VRBCS300W.

Noticed today when I put the truck in reverse there's a continuous steady beep where as before the beep was intermittent, as I got closer to the object it would become faster until it would eventually become a steady beep. Which I'm sure was working correctly. Tried cleaning the Camera lens but it didn't work, it continued the steady beep now I'm worried.

A month ago I backed into a steel pole in a parking garage and trashed my bumper, making me realize I need a backup camera I ordered a cheap ebay camera and 30 feet of extra power and video cable for the install.
Down the road I'll order something better but for now I'm working with a cheapo 15 dollar camera I know where I'm mounting the camera and where/how I'm running the cables, I'm just not sure how to get my head unit to switch automatically when I engage the truck in reverse. I have a pioneer double din touch screen radio as seen here on crutch field.

I have a 2016 F-350 Lariat. I want to install a second backup camera (high mount) to see my fifth wheel hitch when hooking up. It will be located either near or in the third brake light. I really do not want to add another display or change the OEM display. My question; is there any way to add a second camera input the the OEM head unit? Or can I use the A/V inputs and disable the OEM Backup Camera when I want to use the high mount.
View 2 RepliesFirst tech post for my new truck. I just bought a hold-over but new 2015 F250 XL Supercab 2wd and love the simplicity of no unwanted options. That said, there are two features I am adding. The first is perfectly straightforward, cruise control (swap button cluster and have the function turned on by the dealer). The second is a tiny bit more involved, back-up camera, in mirror display with bluetooth hands-free (I like the simple AM/FM radio because I can work it all with gloves on).
So I basically need three things from the truck and my research has been inconclusive on a couple of things because most of the threads are for 2014 or earlier. I think I can pull switched 12V and ground (pin 1 and 4) plus reverse lights (center, or pin 7) all from the the trailer wiring harness. It appears these are not affected by the canbus load restrictions of other places to tap reverse signal (remember, XL so likely nothing in the overhead console for the auto-dimming rear view mirror). Are there any challenges with this when I do hook up my enclosed trailer or when it is not hooked up regarding the trailer brake controller/anti-sway?
I already found a good youtube video for how to route the wires so I think this is my primary challenge at this point.
