I have a 2007 Ford F-150 King Ranch, my auto start has been acting up recently I push the start button the horn beeps, then powers up, but then don't start, up until now it has been working fine. Also when I sit in the truck and put the back of the key(black piece) near the ignition and press the start button it fires up as normal...

Am I doing something wrong, leaving a door not shut all the way etc.... Are there any parimiters where it won't remote start and just "beep" the horn?
My command start for 2008 explorer was installed by ford dealer couple of years ago. Now when I press remote start, horn beeps 1 time, doors lock, lights come on then it should start but instead horn beeps once again and vehicle does not start , radio and heater in vehicle run as if vehicle was started.

View 6 RepliesI just got back from a deployment and my Dad changed out the battery on my 06 F150. He said it started up fine for him, but I tried and it powers up great but won't turn over. Everything electrical still works, but the engine doesn't even try to turn over.

Today, I went to go and use my remote start and the lights come on like it should and then it beeps 3 times and doesn't start. All my doors are closed. I thought maybe it was something with my hood sensor but I couldn't really find it.
View 4 RepliesI just picked up an 02 Supercrew. It came with a “Ford” remote starter. I imagine it was a dealer install for the previous owner. Anyways when I try to use the remote starter, it will crank the engine over but not fire. If I manually start the truck it fires up immediately. How come the remote start wont fire?

View 11 RepliesI just bought a 2010 f150 and it came with the single button remote start. I've been reading lots of posts about remote start but none with my issue. Mine when you push the button the horn beeps, ignition comes on, the seat slides forward, then the horn beeps just one time again, and it just sits there with the radio playing and not running. Everyone else is getting a 3 beep error code and I'm getting just the one beep.

View 1 RepliesI have the Ford PowerCode remote start on my '08 F-150. Seperate one-button unit. The truck sat for about 5 days, and today I hit the remote as usual.......nothing. No lights come on, no horn beep,....nothing. I use the keyless entry, which works fine, and use the key to start the truck. Starts fine, everything works fine, but no remote start. Seems weird as it worked fine the last time I used it. I bought the truck new in August, and it was dealer installed. Batteries in both remote start units are ok. What would make it not work now?
View 11 RepliesI just installed the Hyundai factory Remote Engine Start in my 2011 Elantra GLS and have a problem that the hazard lights come on and stay on when unlocking/unarming the car. To repeat, this is the genuine Hyundai Accessory Remote Start/Security kit (3X056 ADU00), not a third party offering. Everything that the kit is supposed to do, WORKS as specified, including remote start. The only problem is that when I use the key fob to unlock/disarm the system, the emergency flashers/hazard lights come on and stay on until I turn them off from the inside or until I toggle lock/unlock for the key fob a few times.
I've been through the wiring a dozen times, and am absolutely certain that the kit is wired correctly -- again all features work. Now, I find it interesting that NONE of the wiring of the kit (based on the schematic) comes close to touching a circuit that is identified as hazard/flashers! I even temporarily disconnected all four leads from the kit that go to the front headlamp circuits and rear tail lamp circuits -- and the hazards STILL CAME on when unlocking. This is telling me that there is an indirect/unintended "connection" between the kit and the triggering of the hazard circuit.
The kit is clearly the correct one for the car, and the car has the right equipment for the kit (i.e. No Smart Key, has auto transmission, power windows, power locks, etc). Why the hazard lamps come on when I click the keyfob to unlock the car?
I installed a remote start a while back. What I am struggling with is every other time or 3rd time I try to start it the horn goes off like a car alarm. Initially I was having a key issue and would get the immobilizer alert on the dash and It would fire and then shut off. Now if the horn starts going off all I do is hit the lock button and it stops after a couple honks and then starts like nothing happened.

I finally saw idatalink released a firmware for their ADS-ALCA bypass module that allows you to add a remote start that is triggered by the factory keypad. It was a fairly easy installation and it started up right away. I do have car installation experience, but I didnt find the installation to be that difficult in general.
View 14 RepliesI bought the bed extender off my uncles '05 lariat and I got the pivot bolts, but I went to put the bolts on my truck and the middle hole isn't threaded. It has like a metal bushing in there, do I need to tap the hole or what? Also what is the bottom hole for?
View 2 RepliesIt has been a long time since I have owned a Ford truck and recently got a good deal on a 2004 Reg. Cab 4x4 (4.6L). It only has 58K miles and still looks, drives and smells like new. I have just noticed that the Rear end gears whine very loudly at 45 mph. It is quite everywhere else accept a little hum at 60mph. No other issues with the truck and perhaps, this is just normal on these newer fords.

Most times I have to be within 20/30 yards to activate it and if im inside my home or any building its useless and rarely activates it regardless of the distance. My point is a remote start is made to start your vehicle from a reasonable distance without having to step outside to activate it.
View 10 RepliesI have 2006 single cab stx and the little orange airbag guy below the speedometer has been on over a year and a half and he always flashes a code 51, but I've never worried about it.
About a month ago I started occasionally getting the 5 beeps 5 times, and now it does it more frequently but not every time. The Passenger Airbag Light above the radio works properly. It comes on when I start the truck and then goes off. When I put weight on the seat (usually my Jack Russell who only weighs 14lbs) it turns on and stays, and if the seat belt is buckled with no weight it also stays on. This is proper function correct ?
I've tried things I've read from replacing or cleaning up the crash sensor in front of the radiator, even cleaned the connections under the seats with contact cleaner, pulled fuses and none of them are blown. Are the code 51 and the beeping alarm somehow connected ?
I am not sure if it is the same time every night like clock-work or if it's a set interval after I come home...but here is what happens:
-I come home and I turn off the power to my 2010 Prius after parking.
-I lock the car and I get that loud external "Beep"
-Around 2 to 3 hours later, I hear 4 to 5 beeps in a row from the horn. It sounds just like the beeps that are made when I unlock the car. Just a bunch of them in a row..for no reason
It is really loud and ticking off my neighbors. What would cause this? I have a dealer installed Rockledge security system.
We have a 2000 SL1 that started having the horn go off (continuous, not intermittent beeps). The first time it happened was early in the morning, lot of moisture in the air, and it stopped when I hit the middle of the steering wheel. The second time it happened was during the night (again a lot of moisture in the air) and my son unplugged the horn.
View 2 RepliesI have 2008 LX, i press brake, green light comes on, pressing button to start everything goes to work (radio, lights, vents etc) but not engine, it does 4 long beeps, then continues beeping. Tried with both keys and both immobilizers, tested batteries, they all good.
