Both doors on my extended cab will not open.
View 3 RepliesBoth doors on my extended cab will not open.
View 3 RepliesAll of a sudden, my 2008 prius, basic package without the smart entry system, stopped locking or opening the doors when i pressed the button.
At first i thought it must be a dead battery, so i replaced it with a new one and got the exact same behavior. i checked the old battery and it was still giving off 3 volts as was the new one when i checked that with a volt meter. when i press any of the buttons on the key, a small led light goes on and on the dashboard a picture of a key lights up briefly. the owner's manual does not show the key as a warning light.
1999 F250 extended cab back doors won't open. The passenger side stopped opening right after I purchased it a few months back (168K miles). I removed the door panels and reached my hand in feeling around. I know the latch releases are activated by cables but cannot figure out how they work. While feeling and pulling on the cables one became dislodged from its holder. The driver's side stopped opening yesterday . Do the cables stretch, break, or what? Or are the holders the issue? Is there an illustration that shows how the cables are run and connected?
View 14 RepliesI have a 2002 F-150 extended cab and the rear door(drivers side) quit opening a few days ago. No warning--worked one day and just stopped opening the next. Are there any tricks to getting the panel off to ck. for trouble spots?
View 13 RepliesI can't figure out the problem with my extended cab door. Driver's side doesn't open with either door handle.
View 13 RepliesRemotes suddenly will not lock/unlock doors or open trunk. Background - guy left key in ignition in 'on' position overnight. Also thunderstorm with very near lightning strike during that time.Battery dead in am, though after jump start it was not necessary to reset radio, clock, etc.Neither remote works.Checked the door lock fuse - looks OK, but did not replace it as there were no spares in the spare slots.Where else to look for the problem?
View 2 RepliesI'm a new owner of GX 470 2004. I need to know the tip I should make to open all doors in one key press. I have to press two times so the 4 doors open.
View 6 Replies07 Prius, non smart key. One fob failed, other one works but button covers worn off. Purchased new fob, did the chicken dance, fob will now start car... but will not open/lock doors remotely. Took battery from working fob and put in new fob, no difference. New fob light blinks like the old working one when buttons are pressed. I do not have the "fob" button under the steering column, just a tire pressure set button there. In another thread someone wrote that with the new fob in the slot, start the car, and open and close the door, and function the locks to set new fob to be able to operated the locks... no luck.
View 4 RepliesI just bought a (new to me) 2007 RX 350. Love the car. The only problem is that the previous owner had kids and he let them do whatever they wanted inside the car. I got the car detailed and cleaned but I noticed that the centre console doors towards the back don't open and close. When I press the open button it opens ever so slightly and when I press close I can feel that the spring is trying to close the door but nothing happens.
View 13 RepliesThe little device that hold doors open (so they don’t swing freely) aren’t very effective on my ’09 model. Actually, it's only a problem on the front doors. The rear doors hold position quite well. The front doors have always been a problem and I wonder if is this typical. Is there a fix (other than replacement)?
View 6 RepliesTrouble starting our 2008 escape after she has been sitting for atleast 4-5 hours (or more) We can get it going usually but we have to attempt several times before it 'catches'. After running and turning off, it starts no problem. Have replaced mas and didn't work. No 'check engine soon light' so just trying to narrow down the problem. Have replaced the fuel filter and all the spark plugs. Love my escape but not when it doesn't start!!
View 9 RepliesReprogram remote to unlock all the doors with 1 press? I cant stand hitting the remote twice for all the doors..
I reprogrammed my Jeep to do this but I can figure out how the sequence that works for the Truck....
I have a 2004 Screw lariat. When i turn the truck off, the locks no longer unlock automatically. Also when I press the unlock on my key fob, the headlights flash, but the doors do not unlock. And the driver side lock/unlock switch is no longer working either.. could this be a broken wire?
View 8 RepliesMy 2005 f150 extended cab / supercab front doors wont close fully. The light on the dash goes off, but you can see the door is still open in the mirror. It also sounds open. The rear doors are fine.
View 6 RepliesWe have an 07 F150 XL reg cab. Having problem with the doors rattling going down a dirt or bumpy road. They sound almost as if door weren't shut rite even though they are slammed shut. We took it in to the dealer and they said they adjusted and replaced door stops but we still have the same problem. plus they said they could not duplicate.
View 14 RepliesWho invented this thing---so I pry up the 3 metal clips on the cover and on the opposite side there are 4 plastic stuck in 4 plastic holes. Then I get on a stepladder to get enough leverage to yank them out to expose the filter.
Is there an easier way to open this thing? Was I supposed to disconnect the rubber hose first?
My 2006 5.4L had the air filter in a simple to pull open drawer---2 seconds open, 2 seconds closed!
I have a 2004 F150 Fx4 and i just locked the tailgate for the first time and now i cannot unlock it. I turned it clockwise to lock it and I am trying to turn it counter clockwise to unlock it and it seems like its putting too much tension on the key.... Am I doing something wrong?
View 7 RepliesI just purchased a 2005 F150 (4.6L / 4 door). The lot I purchased it from had picked it up at auction. Tell-Tell signs indicate it was a repo. (Only one key, no fobs, locking fuel filler door jimmied and spring removed, scratches on upper corner of driver's side door and rubber bent back.
The power locks switch on arm rest works on all doors except driver's. The drivers door does lock and unlock manually. I am wanting a good hypothesis before I begin tearing into the door panel.
If the latching mechanism was damaged, it wouldn't lock manually, right? If the electronics were damaged the other doors wouldn't work right? So, my hypothesis is the actuator on driver's door. Do I start searching for/locating possible replacement parts?
I can't open my 04 F150 Screw drivers side rear door. Darn it.
I just replaced the rear speaker in my drivers side rear door and when I re-installed the rear release door handle I must have missed the cable engagement. I closed it and now can not open the door.
The handle is installed, the screws (loosened) will not come out, the lower door panel is installed. The upper two snap on panels are still off. so I have access to the top latch but not the lower end.
So I'm having a tailgate issue. When I open my tailgate, sometimes the internal spring wants to keep it up, rather then letting it open down. It also makes an odd popping noise during operation from time to time......I don't see or feel anything broke in it.
View 7 RepliesJust got a 2000 Explorer XLS and I can not open the rear doors from inside. Made sure child locks are off. Works fine from outside. Handle doesn't feel loose or anything. Power locks work fine.
