A couple of days ago my emissions light came on in my truck and the P0054 is the code I get when I scan it. Did a little research online and it looks like it could possibly be a 02 sensor issue. Truck seems to be running fine.. I have a 06 F150 with a 5.4L.....

Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: Emissions Light Blinking At Certain Speeds

Having problems with a blinking emissions light at certain speeds? I have a 2006 F150 with the 5.4L engine with 132,000 miles on it and have had a problem with the emissions light coming on when I reach a speed of 80 mph. The pickup will drive fine up unto this speed but when it reaches 78-82 mph the pickup will start shake/rattle and the emissions light will blink on and off repeatedly until you reduce your speed to around 60 mph and then the light will turn off completely.

We took the pickup into the local Ford dealer for them to look at it. After they took a look they couldn't pull a code because there is no light that comes on until the higher speed. They told me that this was due to a bad tank of gas and this happens to prevent damage to the catalytic converter. They said it would be better once that fuel burned off. Well two full tank fills later the same problem persists. Just wondering, what course of action they took to fix it.

Passat (B6) :: 2008 2.0T Wagon Running Rough And Threw Emissions System Code

Our 2.0T (2008 Passat Komfort Wagon) with 70K miles is sitting in a mall parking lot and won't turn over. The lights and accessories all function just fine, and don't change/benefit from a battery jump. DRLs and all dash indicators light up like normal.

We push in the key fob and absolutely nothing happens. No error messages or anything. I tried a half dozen times; no change. Two things to know:

1) The car is under a recall for defective Electronic Steering Column Lock. I understand this can invoke the immobilizer? Car does seem immobilized. (I hadn't gotten the car in for the recall.)

2) The car recently ran rough and threw an Emissions system code. I hadn't gotten that code read, yet, but the roughness sorted itself out. I think this is unrelated and may be a case of "car wash syndrome" as my wife and son occasionally run the car for a minute or less to move it from the driveway to the street.

Ford Excursion :: 2004 - Emissions Light Popped On

I've got a 2004 6.8L Excursion (about 124k mileage). Was gassed up yesterday, today the emissions light popped on. I checked the fuel cap and it was on tight. Any other easy things to check before I head down to Advanced Auto to see if they can pop it on the diagnostic machine?

Grand Prix :: SES Light On / Small Emissions Leak - Code P0442

About a month ago I had my SES light go on and I took it to the auto parts store and they said it was a small emissions leak. I am not sure of the code though. I took my car to the shop and they said that a sensor that had something to do with the exhaust was bad or unplugged.

My SES light came back on about about a week ago and I had it tested and it said the same thing. "Small emissions leak" This time I got the code and its P0442. The shop is closed today and tomarrow so what and where the sensor is located? Or if its the same thing?

Acura - MDX :: 2007 - Check Engine Light Illuminated / Emissions Code P0401 On Nav Screen

I have a new to me 07 MDX with 82k miles. Exactly at 1 mile over the 30day/1200 mile used car warranty the Check Engine Light illuminated along. The NAV screen showed an emissions code P0401. I really don't notice any symptoms in running at all. Anyway a few drives (on/off) and it turns off for four days. It happened again with same code. Again few drives it went off. It seems to happen when driving easy. It gets great MPG in mixed driving on average (20MPG) which is far better than its rating. Should I wait till it stays on steady before I address this?

So I swapped in a new cluster fx4 to stx to get my airbag light to work. It now works but flashes code 25. Is code 25 the passenger airbag deactivation switch?

Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: ABS Light Won't Go Away After New Sensor B1230 Code

Problem: Initially thought replacing the rear wheel speed sensor on top of the differential would make the light go away on a 2007 F-150 XLT. What I've done already.

-Replaced the sensor
-Used the IDS ford computer to clear the code
-Test drove it for 30 minutes and the light is still on
-Reset any codes by disconnecting the battery
-I have gone as far as swapping a different ABS module thinking it was the problem, after it was re-programmed the module checked out and it wasn't at fault.

It must be a wire, all the fuses for the ABS system are fine.

Issue or traced all the wires and found a common problem such as a pinched wire or melted wire between the module and the sensor? From what I have been researching this code B1230 .

-bad sensor
-sensor grounding out somewhere

Attempted a multi-meter test today and didn't get very far.

So the check engine light came up on my truck and I scanned it to find P0021 which is Intake camshaft over advance or VCT solenoid stuck open. I really doubt my truck skipped timing and all the research I've found had it linked with other codes requiring cam phasers. The truck is a 2008 F150XL with the 5.4 Triton with 90k on it

Well, truck did it again last night. Shut down to idle, wrench light came on. My Edge Insight showed P2104, Throttle Actuator Control System-Forced Idle. This is the third time it's done it over several months. Took it to Ford again, they didn't find anything. First time they replaced the throttle control unit. He's talking about RF interference but ignition & alternator checked ok. Each time it's done it has been in the same place, Sacramento Raceway. This is getting ridiculous, can't just drive it & show them because it's only done it over several months period.

Intermittently, the parking brake/ABS light comes on with no pattern I can put my finger on. Some times its on when I start it and stays on the entire time I drive it. Some times its off when I start it and then comes on while I'm driving it. This morning I took it by Advance auto and had them check for codes while the light was on: C1342 - ABS control module. I can't find a lot of information about this code or what can be done to fix it other than taking it to a dealer. Any alternative solution, perhaps re-seating the connectors to the module - and where the heck is the module and what does it look like?

Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: Check Engine Light Code Says Catalyst Deficiency Bank 2

I have a 2006 F-150 with the 5.4L. I got the check engine light and the computer says catalyst deficiency bank 2. So I assume the passenger side converter is blocked. Is there anyway to either take out the cat and replace with a piece of straight pipe and bypass the o2 sensors or take the cat out of the housing and put the housing in and then bypass the o2 sensors.

Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: Running Rough With Code P0171 - Engine Light Stays On?

I just started to have this problem yesterday. Engine light comes on and stays on. Engine shakes and truck won't go over 50 MPH. Autozone code checker came up with P0171.

Truck has about 95K miles and I had the spark plugs replaced at 75K miles.
Transmission was rebuilt at around that time also.

I only drove it to Autozone and back today to post the code and see what everyone's opinion is as to what's wrong.

Here's what the printout says : P0171 "Fuel Trim Bank One Condition"

I just got an Egde Evo which I installed and everything looked great. After a few runs, I noticed the ABS light coming on an soon after that my transmission goes to limp mode (the wrench lights up).

I receive the DTC error: P2106 on the Edge Evo.

I have gone back to Factory default, but it keeps coming back, ie. the ABS light lights up and the Trans goes to Forced Limited Power (according to the Evo).

Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: 2005 - Check Engine Light Code P0420 - CAT Threshold Level

Had the check engine light in the 2005 F150 (90,000 miles) come on. Got the code checked and its P0420. I know that has to do with the cat threshold levels etc. so I believe I am looking to replace the o2 sensor, if I am not mistaken.

How hard of a job is this? Ive done a decent amount of engine work and worked in a shop in high school. Just looking to see if that is the right thing to try first, replacing the sensor, before replacing the cat.

Also I know its the right bank, but if I am not mistaken there is a before and after the cat o2 sensor, which do i replace? Both?

Lexus RX 2004-09 :: 2008 RX350 VSC OFF Light On - Mass Air Flow Sensor Code

"VSC OFF" light came on the other day. I took my RX350 to the dealer. The dealer said Heater Element sensor is bad. They didnot have this part in stock. I googled this part. Nothing comes up under that search. I took it to Autozone and the code came up as Mass Air flow sensor. Are both of these same thing?

Passat (B5) :: Code P1128 Along With Emissions Workshop Warning Appeared

Car is a 2000 Passat Wagon 1.8T ATW FWD

I get the P1128 code and Emissions Workshop warning most of the year, then it cycles off in the summer. It went off yesterday, back on today, and I imagine it will go off again for weeks/months as the weather heats up.

Things I've tried so far:

Replaced MAF sensor

Replaced MAF wiring harness

Replaced front 02 sensor

Replaced air filter

Replaced cracked vacuum tubes, at least those accessible from the top. Some of the hidden lengths theoretically could be at issue but a mechanic said they were ok.

What I've not replaced is the secondary air pump. (Mechanic told me it's dry and checks okay.)

Sonata NF (2006-10) :: P0171 Code And High Emissions Output

Have got a 2006 Azera 3.3 (same engine as Sonata and have had no luck in the Azera section) which is showing Check Engine Light and P0171 code. Have cleared it but it soon returns and emissions are very high. I have tried with my limited knowledge to check the live data via a scanner but everything seems OK.

I've cleaned the MAF sensor but I'm thinking of replacing it but don't want to do this unnecessarily!

Is there anything else I could be checking? Car drives OK and there's nothing obvious symptom wise other than the emissions and the CEL.

Azera TG (2006-11) :: P0171 Code And High Emissions Output
