View 3 RepliesSo now that heat of summer is here, I have been running the AC and noticed a problem. The carpet under the floor mat on the passenger side is wet. It is not from the rain but only after I run the AC. There is a good amount of water in the carpet. The condensation also runs out from under the truck like normal. Any fix to keep me from spending money at the dealer? 2011 F150 XLT.
View 10 RepliesJust noticed the passenger side floor has water frozen on carpet. There is no evidence of water on the sides or from the dash area. I reached under the car and I can see 2 holes, one of them is plugged with a rubber grommet/plug and the other I can stick my finger way up into it. My wife has been driving this in the rain a couple days last week.
Is that a possible source for the water getting in? Can I order a replacement plug if it fell out?
I just did read something about a "sealing cover" and I matched against the driver side and it does appear to be missing. Seems to be a round 40mm plug. I measured the driver side and plug is 40mm and the hole is more like 25mm. Is this the right part?
So I just bought a used 2012 Honday Odyssey and I noticed that anytime I take it out for a drive and return home, the front passenger side floor carpet is slightly damp. So is the carpet on the floor of the luggage compartment at the back of the vehicle. I've also noticed that the drivers side carpet smells a bit like gas when this happens.
View 6 RepliesI have a 2005 Chevy Equinox that has developed an odd issue. For about a month, after a good rain, I have a puddle of water in the floor carpet of the front passenger side - while parked. It develops from the center of the car to about the middle of the floor below the seat. So since that is the case I don't think the side window is leaking but I have looked for signs of water coming in. Nothing. The windshield was replaced about 5 years ago but again, no signs that water is coming in from there either. It can't be from the bottom of the car, right? I mean it happens while it is parked, so that doesn't make sense.
View 6 RepliesJust sopped up about a quart of water on the pass side floor. the wiring harness channel (along the door on the floor) was full as was the corner where the fuse box is along with the whole jutting up to the seat!
Was thinking I has a windshield leak, tested out fine. I have alot of AC water draining under the truck, thought that ws O.K. too. Then did an experiment after dryin the floor and juting.
peeled it all back and ran the AC for 20 minutes till I had a good puddle on the ground, and sure enough the "joint" lowest and closest to the tranny tunnel was dripping. Thinking the box is full of water now. Where is the actual drain hole for the AC? can't find it under the "heat shield" crap under the truck.

So I noticed some pretty extreme fogginess and internal condensation on my windows the past few days (spring has sprung, but we have had some colder days in SE Pennsylvania). Then after taking a bag out of my passenger side floor I noticed it was soaking wet. Couldn't figure it out until I saw that my passenger side carpet was soaked.
It can't be a leak from the windshield or above because only the bottom part of the bag that was touching the floor was soaked.
We did have a pretty rainy day about 2 days ago, and I did use my AC for the first time in a while as well in the past few days so not sure if it's an AC tube problem or seal and drainage problem somehow.
I recently purchased my ISF from a Lexus dealer in my area. After the first rainfall i noticed there was water starting to build up in my passenger headlight.
View 14 RepliesI recently noticed that my passenger side carpet was wet. I took it to the dealer and they had to replace the Sunroof Drain Hose. Didn't realize that the sunroof had to be drained...Hmm anyway, they had to take practically all of the interior out in order to replace the hose. It took two days for them to finish. Unfortunately, I turned it in on a Friday and of course, the dealer was not open on the weekend. So I got a rental car from the dealer and what did they have.....a stupid chevy s10 pickup...I would think that they would rent out a VW. Well no real moral to my story just wanted to share the problem I had.

Did not have rain, car is garage kept, windows never left open, did not go through car wash recently whereby water would have seeped in, have not had rain, nor have driven through rain recently.
View 7 RepliesFor some reason my drivers side floor mat/carpet keeps kicking itself loose of the two hooks there to keep it in line. Then it moves quickly forward to stuff itself under the pedals.
The dealer indicated he had not seen this problem and didn't really have a suggestion.
I discovered my passenger side carpet was a little damp not bad but was wet. I hosed down the window, windshield, door, and the sunroof areas and didn't see any water coming in!? The only thing I've noticed, when running the AC it seems to have "more" water coming down the frame area but not totally sure but sure seems like a lot more than I remember! Just wondering if, when driving down the road, that the water from the AC is coming in somehow?? Again, the carpet isn't completely soaked but damp, even up under the glove box area on the carpet. Heater core?
2006 F350 4x4 CC KR with 138K completely stock!
Cleaned the truck today & noticed that the carpet in the passenger side footwell was wet, not real bad but wet at the edge by the trim, when I peeled up the trim the channel was full of clean water so I know it's not the heater.
I'm guessing that it may be a blocked drain but won't have time to check for another week, we did have some pretty bad rain last week so maybe it was just too severe for the drain to cope?
I should have taken the pic before I dried it up but the channel between the carpet & the door rubber was pretty much full
There is a mark where the water has run down the floor. Just to the left of the red antenna cable, I pulled out the glove box but couldn't see anywhere obvious that it has got in.
I do believe my a/c drain is plugged and wetting my passenger side carpet with water. I pulled my floor mat the other day to vacuum and noticed the carpet was wet underneath the weather tech floor mat. No water on top of the mat. It must be leaking down inside of firewall and under the mat.
My guess is I need to find the drain hose and un-plug it with weed cutter line or re-route the tube. I leave for a work trip tomorrow and don't have time to take it to the stealer. I have to run A/C the whole time so I know it will get wet again. I have today and tomorrow to figure it out.
PS - no rain here for months so I know it isn't the door seal leak. I have had the a/c on 24/7 all summer.
OK for the past few weeks I have been notice water on my floor boards on the DRIVER's SIDE. Now I just did some cab lights and thought ok maybe that's it. About a week ago while it was raining out I dropped the headliner and it was dry as a bone. So I eliminated that as a possibility.
Then I thought well maybe its my 3rd light and the water wasn't showing up until there. So that's been replaced and sealed tight. Now it has been cool here and has not rained in about a week now so everything should of dried out by now.
I left the floor mat out all of yesterday and last night and came out this morning to a dry floor area. I put the mat back in and drove the 15 minutes to my office and pulled the mat back out and the floor was wet again. I have not run my heat or A/C in 4-5 days and have not had any weather other then sun since last Saturday. The water shows up on the back of the floor mat more as like a heavy condensation then anything else. So my question is where is this water coming from?
I just got this 07 GX470. I had it shipped here on the back of a truck, he drove through some snow storms apparently.
First thing I did was take it to a carwash. When I get to the dryer part (big blower motors at the end of the wash), my feet and my passenger's toes became soaked. I shined a light up under the dash and couldn't see anything wet. Everything else in the car appears dry as far as I can tell.
It's in the 40s here currently.
I have a 07 6.0L and the other day while cleaning it out I noticed that the carpet on the passenger side was wet. I have never noticed it before so this had to recently start. I don't think its heater core related as its completely clear and doesn't have a smell to it. I am also not loosing any coolant. The truck only has 18,300 miles on it,and it sits most of its life until recently after I took it over.
It has never had the windshield replaced,to be honest nothing has been replaced. I don't believe its a/c drain related either, the hvac controls have been in the off position for the last 2 weeks,and just 3 days ago after drying the carpet out completely(with a fan), its wet again after a nights rain, not as wet as before, but its damp.
And last night it was pouring down rain and I had the carpet pulled back to dry/air out, so I thought I would go out and take a look to see if i can see water coming in. Sure enough there are 2 trails of steady water flow. Its coming from directly under the glove box, there is a silver canister that is held on by 2 screws, its dripping down 1 of those screws. I cant quite make it out where its coming in from, but i am thinking the blower housing.

Passenger side front under carpet is wet. I pulled the carpet back and I could squeeze quite a bit of water from the foam backing.
The water was NOT red/pink in color and no smell.
I saw the a/c drain hose. PICTURE below. It seem clear and plugged into the floor pan.

I am at a loss. Is there a second a/c drain hose other than that black tube?
Some post says it could be moon roof leak. Where is the drain hose for that? My headliner etc is not wet! nor is the driver side.
Lately, I've noticed that after rain, passenger side carpet is getting wet. what I should be looking for to fix this. I can say for certainty that it happens only during/after rain.

View 12 RepliesI have no clue where it came from but now my car smells like mildew. Where and how it came in? Also how to get rid of the smell? To make things worse I have monster mats so I never knew it was there until I smelled it then lifted the mat.
