Ok I have a 2004 F150. The airbag was flashing 42, I have since replaced that sensor and now its flashing code 16. I have searched everywhere and cannot find the answer to my question. Any clue as to what this code is trying to tell me. Lost 1, this is lost 3, are you lost 2?

Had the infamous airbag code 42 flashing at me the other day, replaced the sensor in the front of the radiator support, and am still getting the same code. The old senser had some corrosion inside the sensor itself, but the connections were clean on both the sensor and the pigtail. Is there something I may have missed?

Light continues to flash. New diagnostics from dealer says error code 1885 - the control restraint module needs replacing in P&L. Does the code match the fix? Can a novice mechanic replace the module?

About a month ago I started occasionally getting the 5 beeps 5 times, and now it does it more frequently but not every time. The Passenger Airbag Light above the radio works properly. It comes on when I start the truck and then goes off. When I put weight on the seat (usually my Jack Russell who only weighs 14lbs) it turns on and stays, and if the seat belt is buckled with no weight it also stays on. This is proper function correct ?
I've tried things I've read from replacing or cleaning up the crash sensor in front of the radiator, even cleaned the connections under the seats with contact cleaner, pulled fuses and none of them are blown. Are the code 51 and the beeping alarm somehow connected ?
The airbag light on my 1995 Ford Ranger is flashing a code 41 (four flashes, pause, then one flash...does this a few times when I start the engine, then goes to a solid light which stays on while I drive.) It has been doing this for several months, and to be perfectly honest, this has not been a concern for me but now that my state inspection is coming up in December, I need to do something about it. Just before I noticed it to begin with, I had a major repair done--the dreaded heater core replacement--which involved removal of the dashboard. I never associated the flashing with that repair and the possibility that the repair shop might have inadvertently neglected to reattach something when reassembling the dashboard and now so much time has passed, that I can't just go back to the repair shop.

From what I read it is a short someplace. Where are the crash sensors and how do you check them for "shorts"? I don't understand much about the whole system.

View 13 RepliesI've been trying to trace down a issue with the airbag warning light flashing. The seatbelt light is flashing also. The airbag code is 53. If i search it i get the front crash sensor..I replaced it with a new sensor and pigtail. Other than that the search leads me to believe it could be anything.
I've checked and clean every connection that i could find. I haven't removed the center console yet to check the module. I did buy the truck last fall as a winter/work truck. The issue started a couple of months after i started driving it. Not sure if the module would just go bad.
I had been having battery issues with my 97 ford f150 4.6 liter for the longest time, thought i had a short under dash, i pulled entire dash out, disconnecting bat first of course, and inspected all wiring harness connections and fixing my issues and putting it all back together. now with new bat and all put back together i am now getting the airbag light flashing 5 times then 2 times (error code 52) i know it has some thing to do with power failure or backup battery, but now with the new battery in i cant seem to get it to reset. How to do this?

Is the code model AND year specific? I have a 2004 Explorer. Can clear this up? I already cleaned the yellow connectors under both seats and I still have the LFC. I have started the truck 3 times since then and cycled the key about 6 times to see if it would clear. I got a rejection sticker today and need to fix it ASAP.

I just got done putting in 2 coils, 2 cats, egr, o2 sensor, intake gaskets upper and lower, PCV, injector orings all due to misfire sure there not connected just added info. Other problems include heated seat switch lights for a second then shuts off, and no cruise control. Need to get light off for inspection by end of month....
View 2 RepliesI've had my 2004 F150 for almost 2 years now. For almost the last year my airbag light has been on. No codes, just the airbag light on the dash being on and occasionally the light on the console turns on.
Are there sensors that may go bad? I've looked and everything under the passenger seat is connected. Going to be upgrading the truck soon, just need to take care of all the little things first.

O/D light started flashing, difficult to shift gears, MIL came on with P0745 code
I have changed the filter, installed new solenoid block, adjusted bands, topped off fluid with Mercon V. No change in symptoms.
For a long time my 2004 regular cab truck has a quirk that both the driver (and passenger if present) must click their seat belts before starting the truck. If not, the seat belt chime and light flash, even though the seat belt light is off when the alarm is not sounding.
Even if the truck is in park, and the passenger gets out of the truck and back again with the engine running, once in drive it will start the seat belt alarm with everybody properly buckled.
A few months ago I was driving to work and the airbag light started to flash.
I took the truck in for the air bag wiring harness recall, and the airbag light did not flash since then, and for a little while the seatbelt problem went away.
1 month later the seat belt quirk was back again.
This past weekend the 5x5 air bag alert started. I checked previous posts, and confirmed that my air bag light does not ever light on my dash. I don't remember if it ever came on once the recall was "fixed".
My gut feel is that the wiring to the light is fine, and that this is a wiring problem in the harness. I saw a post that made a vague reference to the air bag sensor under the center console and the seat belt circuit and could find no more.
Looking for a wiring diagram? If the airbag light is out, does the 5x5 alert supposed to indicate that the bulb is burned out, or that the bulb is out AND there is an airbag fault?

View 5 RepliesThis happened last year right at the end of winter and than stopped during summer, just started back up today, just so we have all the info- my airbag light in cluster comes on and airbag off light come on above radio and both turn off. Once the truck is started a very loud ear piercing single tone comes from under dash (130 dB at least) this can range from 5-30 seconds depending on how cold it is outside.
View 10 RepliesI have a 2008 Hyundai Accent that is giving me one heck of a headache. I keep getting a code for number 1 cylinder misfire. When you start it up it runs fine for a while then the CEL will flash and it will start running rough. As soon as I shut it off and restart it, it runs fine. I even experimented with it this morning on the way to work. It started running rough doing 60, I put it in neutral, turned the car off and then right back on, put it back in gear. It ran fine the rest of the way to work. I have swapped coil packs, fuel injectors, spark plugs, and have even hang tested another ECM. Still number 1 cylinder misfire.
