I have a 2006 F-150 5.4L Extended Cab. The windows have to be rolled up by hand and would like to know if there is a way to converted to power window and maybe locks too.
View 1 RepliesRolled it down yesterday. Won't roll back up. Without hitting any buttons, I hear a click in the door every 15 seconds or so. During these 15-20 seconds, when I hit the power window button, the door makes a clicking noise like it is trying to activate the motor, but nothing happens. Then it clicks, and for the next 15-20 seconds, no click, no noise, no matter how many times I hit the window switch. Then after the next click, I will hear a click again whenever i hit the button, and so on and so on, on and off every 15 seconds. I tried taking apart the switch box and checking the contacts. They were fine.
View 3 RepliesI have been having problems with my drivers side power window on my 06 Ford F-150. At first, it would roll down, but wouldn't roll back up, so I replaced the switch. After replacing the entire power window control switch, if you push the switch for the drivers window down, it will start to go down, then stop, and you have to press it about 20 times to get it all the way down. You can definitely hear the switch clicking off. All the other windows work perfect. I took it to get the oil changed and asked about it, and they said to change out the regulator, which I did, but the same thing happens. I checked the fuse and that was fine. Is there a relay or something I should check?
View 12 RepliesPassenger power window will go down but not back up. I replaced the motor, it worked for a month and now it will not go up. Ford replaced the motor. Still doing the same thing. I have plugged the motor on the driver side and it works just fine. I am thinking that there is a wiring problem. Where I can get a wiring schematic?
View 10 RepliesMy passenger side window is getting slower to roll up. Started with it being a tenth of a second slower. Now I'm at about two seconds. It's only a matter of time before it stops all together.

The power Tailgate window works but the sunroof doesn't and i noticed tonight that the button for the tailgate window is illuminated green signifying it has power but the sunroof button right next to it is not illuminated. I just bought the truck yesterday and knew that the sunroof didn't work. i figured i could fix it i just am not sure where to start yet.
It looks like the sunroof might have leaked before and so the previous owner sealed it with silicone from the roof of the truck. i removed the silicone and made the sunroof free to open and close but i still have the issue that there is no power to the sunroof. i was thinking maybe the motor burned out because it couldn't move and that someone had tried to open it while it was glued shut, but that still doesn't explain the light not coming on.
So after 6 1/2 years, my original Panasonic battery died today morning. I used jump start to get to work and used the same method to take the car to Sears to replace with Diehard Platinum.
While driving back, after the battery replacement, I noticed that I couldn't use auto power window roll up or down on driver side (manual roll up/down worked). Other three windows won't even work. I checked the windows lock button and it wasn't in lock position.
I turned the ignition power off and turned on to ACC. Then I could able to roll driver side windows up/down in auto. However, other three windows remain nonoperational. I also noticed a small green light on the window is illuminated only for driver side.
While sitting at the heliport waiting on the rain to stop I noticed my rear window is leaking right above the sliding window. I'm kinda worried about this while I'm offshore because I have a power sliding window and I don't want it to ruin anything that moves the window. Do these trucks have a problem with this and where do I start to look at to fix this?
View 2 RepliesAwhile back I did get my battery replaced and I did reset my windows so they could be used from the driver side panel. As of now, I can roll down all of them from the driver side except for the passenger side rear (window diagonal from driver). The window does roll down from the door itself so the window isn't broken. The light on the driver window switch is lit green, not blinking. However, the light on the window switch on the passenger door is NOT lit and not blinking either. And yes, I did make sure the window lock was not on.
Could the switch, either passenger or driver door, be bad? Should the battery be disconnected and reconnected??
I have a 2002 F250 7.3 PSD and the drivers side power window will not go up. How do I troubleshhot it. Is it the switch, motor, fuse? The other three windows work fine.
View 2 RepliesI just bought a used 1999 F-150 Supercab (V6) less than a month ago. As used, of course, I received no warranty of any kind. Yesterday, I found I could no longer roll down the driver's side power window. Whenever I push the button, it makes a clicking sound in the fuse box. The problem is, the fuse for the power windows covers both driver and passenger sides, but the passenger side works fine.
I did notice that there is a black plug called a Relay that affects the Auto Down power window feature. Since the driver's side is the only window with Auto Down, I'm hoping maybe that relay just needs replaced, and everything will magically work again??? I'm NOT a car/truck nut - I don't even know how to change my own oil.
I recently had a power window motor on my 1995 Thunderbird replaced. I'm hoping I don't have to do that already, just a month in to my F-150. But on my T-Bird, there was no clicking in the fuse box when I tried to window.
How to get the door panel off of a 2011 Jeep Compass without breaking anything? I'm scared to death to go prying on the thing because I can imagine everything inside falling out on the ground. I'm pretty sure I've removed all the little panels and bolts. The reason I'm doing this is because my power window won't roll up and I'm guessing it's the motor.

The main concern is that I was driving on the freeway and it was raining and the window just fell into the door. There is no safety catch or anything. I thought someone shot my window out it was so loud. Its an 05 F150 Supercrew and I am already on my third one going out.
View 14 RepliesI have a 2007 GS 350 and i bought the weather tech window visors for my car with matching floor liners. Both look great on the car but I am having problems with the window visors. Since installing them (following the directions letting them sit for a week or so without opening the windows) I still don't have the automatic feature back to roll up in one click of the switch. once it hits the top of the window the safety feature kicks in and the window rolls back down. if i hold the window switch all the way it will close. I am trying to get back that one click and automatically closes. my friend has the same visors on his is 250 and his still works fine.
View 4 RepliesI have been having sporadic issues with the button/system of my drivers side window. It is an '06 XLT SCrew. The window always reponds when I am lowering, but there are times when I hit the button and it won't come up. I wiggle the armrest, or fiddle with the button and it will eventually work. I haven't been to a dealer yet, but I know this will totally fail at the most inconvenient moment. The other three windows work great.
View 2 RepliesI have a 2006 Ford F-150 with about 43,000 miles .. love it. However, my driver side window stopped working today. For about the past month when you would power up, it would delay and then go up. This happened every so often. Going down was never a problem. Some times window would go up, then drop down an inch or so. Now this morning I went to the store and the window won't go up and it is down all the way. I do not hear grinding, only clicking. All other windows work fine.
View 5 RepliesI just got done repairing the 6x9 speaker in the passenger side door and all went well, except the passenger window switch now blinks and will not roll down/up from the driver side controls! I've removed the panel and double checked all connections and no dice. The window rolls up and down fine using the passenger side control, but not the driver's side. The blinking pattern on the control is two blinks...pause...two blinks...pause...
View 4 RepliesMy wife has a 2005 Santa Fe with the 4 button window contol, and as of the other day her driver's side window won't roll down. However all the other windows will roll up and down from the switch. Is it likely that her side has quit at the switch from being used the most, or would it be a problem with something else on the driver's side since all the other switches work?
View 8 RepliesI have a 2004 Hyundia Santa Fe. The passenger front window will not roll down from driver side switch but will from passenger switch but then will not go up on passenger side switch. I found a broken wire on driver side and repaired it. I put a test light on the wires on the passenger side and used the driver switch and the test light lights when using the up button and down button! I have already put a new master switch in and tested all switches they all work!
View 1 RepliesMy driver side power window on my '05 super crew f150 has stopped working. It rolled down maybe 3-4 inches or so and the stopped working and now will not go up or down. All of the other windows/locks/mirrors on the main switch work so I'm not sure if I should start with replacing the motor or try the switch first.
