Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: 2006 - A/C Condensate Drain - Wet Floorboard
Aug 28, 2009
'06 4x4 SCREW 67k miles -> I removed my passenger front floor mat last night to discover the carpet was wet. So, I assume it is coming from a stopped up A/C condensate drain. Have not searched for it yet, but where the drain line is routed? I was figuring on trying to blow it out with some compressed air.

Recently I noticed some water on passenger side floor (not antifreeze ). I am suspecting of a clogged A/C drain hose. What is the location of drain hose and how to do the task .

2004 F150 SCREW Lariat 4x4. Experiencing some odd noises. When driving down the road and turning the wheel slightly left will produce some grinding and popping from under the floorboard. I'm suspecting a CV axle as the boot is ripped on that side. Would this have anything to do with the IWE system or solenoid??

I have a 2007 F 150. When I use the a/c there is a strong vinegar smell when I first start the truck and the passenger's floorboard is wet. No antifreeze, just water. And no problems during the winter months. It looks like the water is coming from the a/c hoses that come into the truck.

Ive got a 99 F250 (5.4 if that matters), after a good long rain like the one we had this weekend, when I drive the truck I get water splashed on the passenger floorboard. It hold enough water that if I rock the truck side to side I can hear it sloshing. I am wondering if there is a common drain for these things that gets clogged. When my a/c runs I get a nice puddle under the truck so it looks like that is not clogged up, and I didn't know if they were the same drain or not.

2006 4.2L The pedal is good and the fluid is full but the clutch engages and releases about 2 inches from the floorboard. Is there possibly a rod that can be adjusted at the slave cylinder that moves the engage/release point along the pedal travel? Any thoughts before I get out the creeper?

I HAVE A 2005 f-150 LARIET 5.4 lt. I have been having a problem with my battery being drained. My stereo has been staying on once the truck has been turned off. It has also been coming on when the truck is parked all by itself and draining the battery. Sometimes when i am driving in the truck and turn the stereo on it wont come on, ten minutes down the road the stereo will all of a sudden come on. I have tried removing the relay for the stereo, no difference. I have also removed all fuses for the stereo and entertainment system, yet the draining of the battery is still occurring. What the problem could be?

I was looking under the truck and found what appears to be a vertical black metal drain tube right next to the passenger side oxygen sensor (bank 1 sensor 1 O2 sensor).
I'm curious to know what this tube is for. My guesses are rain runoff / drainage for the windshield cowl, or maybe A/C condensate. Can't think of anything else it could be.

2007 5.4 F150. Is the radiator drain the square yellow nylon (?) fitting at the bottom right of the radiator? Does it screw out and the coolant come out the little spigot ? Would like to make sure before I get in there and destroy things....

I have had this happen before (and drove right to the dealer but it was fine when I got there) and it happened again today. Its a very hot day and I had forgot to turn off my AC and radio when I shut the car down. So I started it up put it in drive (or reverse) and it would just jump to neutral and the battery was drained (purple lines) because this had happened before I knew that if I held it in place and turned off the AC I could drive and be fine in a few minutes and that's what happened. Is it just because on a hot day it drains the battery too fast. Its a 2008 Prius with no other problems but this. Its just an annoying thing that makes me crazy.

I have a 2004 GX470; bought it new. The last few months I have been hearing a strange noise from the driver's side; seems to be coming from under the floorboard and can sometimes feel a vibration in the brake pedal. The noise is similar to a cat meowing. Have a son who is a GM tech; he said it sounds more electrical than mechanical. It happens mostly when I drive it cold. Seems to also happen more when turning/braking. I had the main belt replaced this summer. Should I have the tension pully replaced?

Passenger floor under the mat being incredibly wet. I believe that mine can be traced to the A/C Condensate.
1) Passenger side only
2) Doesn't smell like coolant
3) Hasn't rained here in quite a while and yet the floor was still soaked
Yesterday I set out to try and find a way to get this fixed. I tried clearing out the output on the firewall, I didn't check how hard air was flowing here before but after sending some pipe cleaners down there and starting the car with A/C on and the blower on high there was a considerable amount of air coming out of this "drain". I left the truck sitting for a while with the a/c on and didn't notice any water draining down into the passenger side, how rapidly will this happen? If left to sit while running is it possible to actually watch this start to drain inside or....?

a/c condensate line appears to be backing up into the foot well of the front passenger. Leaves huge puddle. Wife is going to kill me. Checked drain valve and no blockage. Foam around the top of evaporator drain guide was wet. Why don't they use tubing for the drain instead of the guide??

A couple of times a year, I get a foul smell out of the vents when I start the vehicle. If I roll the windows down, the odor goes away after a minute or two. I have changed the cabin filter twice now, as I drive quite a bit.
I have deduced that the condensate does not drip while the vehicle is turned off. I have tried multiple ways to get it to drip while off (i.e. circulated vs. fresh air when before vehicle turned off). I (as many people in the world) park in an inclined driveway. I have tried backing in so that the front of the vehicle is in a declined position.
In all instances, condensate does not drip from the evaporator while off. I can let the vehicle sit for hours and check my driveway prior to starting. It will be bone dry under the vehicle. If I start the vehicle, I will have a puddle about 10-12 inches in diameter within 30 seconds of starting the vehicle.

I have recently bought a new truck this month and everything was nice and dandy till i noticed an annoying jerking at 45-50 mph. The check engine light didn't come on till recently when it got really bad and would barely start. I hooked a code reader up to it and it said cylinder 6&8 misfire. So I had the coils replaced on those two cylinders and it seemed to start and idle better.
So I took it on the interstate to see if the jerking was gone as well. and it still jerks at 45-50 just like before. I was going to take it to the dealership to have them figure out what the issue is but that's 100 bones just to figure out what the problem is. My mechanic doesn't want to mess with the spark plugs because he knows they always break.
