2006 SuperCrew, 2WD 4.6L with 117K miles. Headlights will not turn off. totally drained battery. I replaced dead battery wit a fresh one. truck started right up. Headlights on. I turned switch to right and left, and 'clicks' sounded and seemed normal. Headlights on. Turned truck off and pushed button on key fob. Headlights still on. Disconnected new battery and trying to figure this out.

View 3 RepliesI have a 2006 Sonata, last night I was driving and when using my high beam headlights they would stay bright and then dim then brighten up again. The battery has not been replaced since I have had this car, but I didn't know if it could be the battery, alternator or maybe the headlights? They work fine on regular beam, no dimming on this setting.

Well one night in a rush I left my lights on for about an hour (they did not turn off) and I came out to a dead battery. I guess my question is: Do I have a warning beep that is broke? Or is my auto off feature broke?
View 16 RepliesMy 05 f-150 Supercrew 5.4l, will start for a second and then die. I can sometimes feather it and rev it up, but it dies as soon as you let off. I changed the fuel filter and while we had the lines off we turned the key on and it pumped fuel but only for a few seconds. Shouldn't the pump run constantly with an open line?

View 1 RepliesMy state requires headlights to be on when wipers are on. Is there a known way to rig this on a 2006 F150 with the auto headlight setup? Link to a DIY somewhere? I'd expect to have to wire in a relay at the very least.
BTW, I tried searching for "headlights wipers" but repeatedly got

Did the back/reload thing several times to no avail.
Began doing this on sunday and just finished up last night. Truck starts and runs for a bit then stalls. Here is what I did in this order:
1.) Washed truck sundday with purple power and a garden hose. I washed the wheel wells frame and underside, but DID NOT wash the engine at all.
2.) Painted the frame and wheel wells with black paint.
3.) Applied 1/2 gallon or so of fluid film all over the bottom of the truck everywhere I can. Again NOT the engine bay.
Where to start. When it stalled, I can restart every time by waiting 3-5 minutes. It was 13 degrees F last night, so i suspect fuel lines may be freezing but not sure.
I have a 2004 ford F150 trition 4x4, I bought it in march, happen to notice that my head lights wouldn't shut off this afternoon after when I got home from town, after several phone calls n different ideas I resorted to removing a battery cable to keep my battery from dying, then tonight I decided to go to my dads, when I put the negative cable back in the battery I noticed it sparked. she drove fine there, got done visiting n on my way home my horn goes off n won't shut off till I stopped n turned the truck off, I drove all the way home with it blowing like crazy, I took the fuse out but my truck will not start with out the fuse!! I have to work tomorrow night n I have no clue what's going on!!

View 4 Replies I was having a problem where my headlights were turning off every time I would turn my directional signals on (2004 F150). Started out that it was mainly during left turns, but recently it affected right turns as well. Did a bit of google research as well as asking a mechanic to take a look at it while he was repairing something else, and all signs seemed to point to a bad multifunction switch.
So I replaced the mfs, and now my headlights don't work at all. The high beams work when I flash them, but not when I click them on fully. The parking lights work as well as the directionals. Took the truck into Ford and they are saying the headlight switch is bad. Does this sound right? After blowing $100+ on a mfs I'd hate to drop on a headlight switch only to find that it too, doesn't fix the problem. Not to mention NOBODY around here seems to carry the switch in stock. I checked the 2 fuses for the headlights and they looked fine.
I have a 1996 Ford Taurus. With the headlight in the OFF position and the ignition off, key OUT, the headlights stay on. All other lights are off. The highbeam indicator in the cluster stays on also. I've disconnected the headlight switch (completely removed from vehicle), and the headlights still stay ON! I know absolutely nothing about this car.
View 7 RepliesThe headlights stay on all the time & wear the battery down. I've replaced the DRL module with two new modules & neither fixed the problem. I even examined the headlight switch (some burn up at the switch), but this headlight switch & wiring look new. I even took the headlight switch out & the headlights still stayed on. I made sure that the new modules were grounded to the chasis properly.

The other morning when I left the house, turned on the lights, all of the marker lights, dash, fog, etc. come on normally but no headlights. Placed switch in auto and all works fine, including lights. Move switch back and forth between auto and manual a few times and lights finally come on in manual. Next few days they worked fine. Now again this weekend it did it again. Everything worked fine in auto but no headlights in manual. Run the lights in the auto position and after about 5 min on the road switched back to manual and lights came on. I'm thinking possibly a bad headlight switch or maybe a relay that's hanging up or has a bad contact. I've searched but most of the problems I see are when the lights don't work in auto not manual.
View 1 RepliesThis is my first post on this forum. I have a 2014 F350 standard fleet truck. The headlights are not day time running lights. The headlight switch is the basic off/parking light/on. The headlights come on as soon as you start the
truck. This just started happening about a month ago. When you shut off the truck the headlights stay on for ten minutes. I scanned the truck with a snap on modis. I got into the lighting module and the "command on" is on. The modis would not give me the option to turn it off. Short of taking the truck out of service for a day to go to the dealer. Is there any other fix I can do?

View 6 Repliesi have a 2002 f250 i drove it lat night parked it came home from work at about 3 and noticed my head lights were on and just headlights. I open the door and see that the switch is in the off position too. WEIRD HUH ? they wont go off. I tried to unplug the switch and nothing.

View 12 RepliesWalk out to my 02 f250sd this afternoon after it sat for 9 hours while I was working... the lights are on... look inside and the light switch is in the off position... Open the door and it smells like burning wires. Car cranks without a problem but lights will not go off. Unplugged light switch and still lights are on. Open fuse box and all fuses look good none of the relays are hot. Reach around to back of fuse box and almost burn my fingers. Remove 4 screws that hold box in place and look around back. Unplug the wires going into fuse box and see that one is melted and it appears it is melted inside the fuse compartment itself. What might be going on inside this black box?
