I have a blizzard plow and had a shorted wire which blew the plow marker lights to pieces. Fixed short but truck parking lights still stay on. Only way to turn them off is removing the fuse. I have checked light relays by fuse panel and under the hood.
View 14 RepliesThe auto delay feature has begun to fail. Sometimes the parking lights stay on for at least an hour. Sometimes they stay on even after pressing the remote lock 2x and hear the chirp. So far have caught this prior to dead battery situation.

View 4 RepliesI have a 2006 Prius that I've had since 2012. The parking brake light was intermittently having a hard time turning off every time I disengaged the brake and became more inconsistent until finally, now, for about 6 months the light has just remained on the entire time, regardless of whether or not the brake was engaged.
Just to clarify the brake is still fully functional and will prevent the car from rolling when engaged.
I recently failed my inspection because of the light. The mechanics of the brake are fine, but the light wont turn off. They quoted me around $1,000 to fix due to them having to rip out the whole dash to get to the parking brake assembly (8 hours of labor).
However, is there any way to access the pedal to do the repairs without having to take the interior of the car apart? I've also heard that it could mean my brake fluid is low? But they didn't mention that during the inspection.
So randomly today, my Edge is constantly rebooting and the ABS and Parking warning lights are on. My brakes feel fine though and the Edge won't stay on for longer than a few seconds before rebooting.
View 1 RepliesThe closest car wash is less than two miles from our home and we often bring the GX home directly from the car wash and park it in the garage. We've noticed that the parking brake remains applied when we start the GX the next morning, even though the foot pedal releases. Presumably, the parking brake components were wet from the car wash and enough rust/corrosion forms overnight so that the springs to release the brake can't overcome the 'stiction'.
The GX "squats and grunts" when we put it in gear, but doesn't move. Shifting into reverse solves the problem ... there's a loud 'pop' from the rear of the vehicle as the brake releases, the GX starts to move, but in reverse, which we quickly stop with the service brake, then we shift into forward and drive off ... did I mention that we back into our garage?
I may already have confessed that we are heavy parking brake users ... every time we park the vehicle, even if just temporarily while we step out of the vehicle to get the mail, etc. We use the parking brake so much that the cable stretches and every year our dealership has to re-tension.
I just installed a set of HID conversion kit on my 2005 F-150 STX. It is only one beam bulb so therefor I have no high beams. Also, to remind you I have fog lights on the truck. My question is, when I turn my head lights on, and pull the switch to turn on the fog lights, a "blue light" indicator lights up on the dash. It is the high beam indicator and why that is lit. As far as I remember, that light never came on before the install. You have to excuse me since this is my first truck ever and I just got it back after having it repaired at the body shop the last two months. So technically, I only had the truck for 2 months....Just curious whether the blue light is suppose to be on when the fogs are on the dash.

View 1 Replies2005 Super Duty 350. Getting ready to get my truck DOT-ed and I noticed the front amber side marker and parking lamps are not working (both in the headlight assembly). There is a fuse called "exterior lamps" that I believe these are on, the fuse is fine and all the rest of the exterior lamps on the truck work fine (all other markers, clearance lights and I.D. lamps on that same all inclusive circuit). Is there a special relay or something else I'm missing for these four front bulbs?

2005 6.0 Supercab Lariat diesel Auto 4 wd
I just got this used sc430 I always wanted one but never got the chance to though, the car I got is American spec and I Hove few problems with it.
1- fog lights are always on
2- my mileage gage does not work but the rim is working effectively
3- ABS light always on
4- brake lights always on
5- Air bag lights always on
6- side rear viewing mirrors control not working
7- windows auto option is not working, other wise I can use them normal.
Note I took the car to garage and once connected to the computer, the computer was not able to connect as per as the mechanic if it makes any sense.
I love my car unfortunately I don't know much.
I have an '08 VW Passat with a 2.0T FSI Engine and both of my front parking lights aren't working. A while back, I got body work done on it and then it was returned to me with that warning sign. I didn't make a fuss because I got a really good deal on the bodywork and figured I could just look into it myself.
I don't think it's a faulty connector because all of the connections seem to check out.
I read a few posts about changing the front parking light bulb (I think the same a city light in some countries?) in a 2008 VW Passat B6 and it seemed a quite difficult affair. However, after performing it myself I realized it's very simple and shouldn't take more than 5 mins:
First locate the cover for the front headlights:
Then open the brackets on the bottom and top of the cover. For me it worked better to open the bottom bracket first. Just flip it down with your finger:
Then inside the housing, locate the plastic flap for the parking light bulb:
Just pull it straight back. There is no hinge or anything, so just a quick pull back should do the trick:
Change the bulb and re-assemble everything back.
My dashlights (Speedometer, Tach) always remain lit on my 2006 Grand Vitara. Dealer could not find problem. Suggested new dash. Only way to darken dash is to disconnect battery. Car has 10,0000 miles.

What is happening:1) starting the car all instrumental dash lights stayed on and only very slowly cleared. This happened all the time I started the car.2) All red lights (brake, battery, and all doors open) start turning on together quite often.3) And I see a dropping in 'power' voltage. Like my headlights are getting darker. The headlights are also buring out quite often,
I went toan AAA mechanic and they checked the car and found nothing. And he said he did nothing.Since then all instrument dash lights turn off at normal speed.But all the red lights still light regularly. But less than before.This (the red lights lighting) happens more often if A/C in on. Less if the only fan is on. And even less while driving - usually when slowing down.
Any mod that will allow the fog lights to remain on when the high beams get turned on?
View 40 RepliesI drove to work this morning and parked my car (around 10:30AM). I return to my car at about 9:00PM. I approach it trying to unlock it using my remote. I keep hitting the button as I approach...it does not work. I unlock it manually and get inside and put the key in ignition...absolutely nothing happens. No lights, no dashboard, no...nothing.
Then I remember...I left my parking lights on the entire day! That must be what's wrong...
I go and grab some portable jumper cables and...boy did I kill some time trying to elicit a reaction. When I hooked it up, the car came alive completely...it just wouldn't start no matter how long I let it sit. I would simply hear a single click. So, I went a grabbed another set of portable jumpers and....same exact thing. By the time the tow guy came around, he tried it with his portable cables as well and...same exact thing.
I am trying to figure out what in the world is wrong. I replaced the battery one year ago, when I had trouble starting it. So...the battery is new and, by all appearances, in good condition. Outside of that, no history of starting problems whatsoever...which is what makes all of this so incredibly confusing.
So here is my issue, my parking brake light stays on. Ive checked my parking brake pads, the cables and the switch. They are all servicable and operational yet the light stays on...

I noticed the other day that all at once, the abs light and parking brake light came onto the dash, 4x4 low doesn't work and just stays in high and the ac doesn't blow cold. I'm assuming this is somewhat connected considering this all happened at once but really just not sure.
View 1 RepliesWhen I hook a trailer to my '04 F-250 the parking lights stay on. The lights on the truck are not on. I pulled the fuse for the towing lights and they will go out. Pulled what I believe to be the relay according to the owners manual and they still stay on. I have to unplug the trailer every time I stop for any period of time.
View 3 RepliesIntermittently, the parking brake/ABS light comes on with no pattern I can put my finger on. Some times its on when I start it and stays on the entire time I drive it. Some times its off when I start it and then comes on while I'm driving it. This morning I took it by Advance auto and had them check for codes while the light was on: C1342 - ABS control module. I can't find a lot of information about this code or what can be done to fix it other than taking it to a dealer. Any alternative solution, perhaps re-seating the connectors to the module - and where the heck is the module and what does it look like?
