Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: 2004 - Amp Location - Installing Sub?
Feb 6, 2015
2004 F150 FX4. Installing a sub on my truck - amp location. I am thinking of putting it under the dash on the drivers side. It will be behind the brake pedal, but way out of the way - like towards the corner.
Since I cannot add pics, attached is a link

I've replaced all 8 of my truck's injectors in the hope of curing a rough idle and high long term fuel trims. How long should it take for the ECU to adjust all the fuel trims to account for the new injectors? Or is it best to disconnect the battery for 30min or so in order to reset the ECU and allow it to learn trims from scratch?

My horn suddenly stays on when I hit the horn and it doesn't beep when I lock the door with the key fob. Only way to turn it off is to shut off the truck. I thought it may be a faulty horn relay. I've asked many mechanics where the horn relay is located and every one gives a different answer. Under the hood, in the driver side kick panel, under the dash, near the horn itself. Where the horn relay is located on a 2004 F-150....

Would like to change the fuel filter on my 04 F150. I have about 86K miles on it and not sure how long it has been since changed because I bought the truck with 75K on it. Is this easy job? Also where is the filter located.

I have an 08 RX350 with navigation and premium sound. I bought a Kenwood DDX8901HD radio along with the TYTO-01 interface and the ASWC-1 to try and keep my steering wheel controls. I removed my old radio easy enough. Installed the TYTO-01 made all the connections and now I have NO NAVIGATION ANYMORE NOR DO I HAVE AC. It says check AC connection.

Looking to change out my front differential cover tomorrow, cover is pitted, rusted, corroded, and leaking at the seals. While under there I want to inspect the vent for the axle and differential (and replace if it's clogged - which I believe is leading to the seal leaking). Looking for info about the vent tube location on the front axle? Thought I read somewhere it was on the cover itself, turns out that's a negative.

I know this is a ford truck site but today I was trying to clean some corrosion off my battery post on my ford fusion with water. Well when I went to crank it up it was slow to crank and it has absolutely no power, won't rev at all. From what I already knew, it seems like some moisture got in the distributor cap. Am I right and if I am were can I find the dang thing and how can I fix it?

What is the location of the taillight relay? My taillights (and all other exterior marker lights) have gone out and the display no longer dims at night. The fuse has no supply voltage. My best guess from the wiring diagram is that the taillight relay is toast. It would seem a simple operation to pull the relay and just check it. The problem is finding it. The repair manual says it is in the fuse/relay box over the drivers side front tire. However there is no relay in that box marked as taillight and all the relays are accounted for from the diagram. The car is an 08.

I recently picked up and installed an OEM head unit for my 04 F350 XL SC/SB. This truck came with a basic AM/FM head unit and 2 front door speakers. Im not looking to do anything crazy, but now that I have a better head unit than just the AM/FM one I would like to wire in 2 more speakers in the rear doors. The rear doors already have the spots to install speakers, but I am assuming I will have to run wiring to the new head unit.
Will I have to find another plug to go from the new rear speakers to the head unit or is the single plug that is now running the radio have extra spots to accept 2 more speakers? This is the stock head unit. This is the better stock head unit

Started out with Xenon depot 4300K kit for my low beams and loved them so much I went ahead and bought another 4300K H-3 kit for my fog-lights. I also bought some 5K bulbs to compare to see if there were any differences--to my surprise there is not alot of difference in light color between the 2 K-ratings that I can see--further driving in the dark and I may notice a difference?
Ok on to the Install! You can find the HID kit HERE>> [URL]
First this kit came with the Slim line ballast and they are half the thickness of my other ballast I have for my Lows-- Looking under the front bumper you will see one 10mmm screw--undo that and the light will come out of the front bumper You will see there are two wires from the hid bulb and the Grey wire that connects to the twist type door--you have to connect the WHITE (hot) wire to the Grey wire in some fashion as you see I soldered them together which I feel is the best way.
You have to cut a slit in the fog-light housing side to channel the wires through so the door will close and seal--just goop it up with some sealant and your good to go after you have ran the wires.
The Wiring part is simple as its all plug and play--connect 2 grounds and 2 wires to the hot side of the battery and BAM you have light--Simple! And best of all it works perfect--now I don't have those nasty dingy yellow Fog-lights and they match my Low beams perfect.

I'd like my mother to switch to the Prius we have to drive to and from work, but her vision is not perfect and she has trouble reading the very small indicators on the digital dash such as D, N, R, etc. Any rectangular magnifier lens or glass that could enlarge the view of the display?
