I just bought a 1998 ford f150. Wipers do not work, the wipers only work when i hit windshield washer, but no washer fluid comes out, what could it be?

My wife was driving our 2001 Expo the other day and the warning light came on that the windshield washer fluid was low. When she got home I popped the top the re fill the washer fluid and there was what appeared to be green coolant in the reservoir. It even smelled like coolant.
It filled the reservoir about half way which made me wonder why even though it was coolant it made the washer fluid light come on. I then checked the coolant reservoir and it had fluid in it but it looked brown and nasty. The motor is the 5.4. What is going on?
I have an '08 Lux wagon with rain sensing wipers and automatic headlights. When I spray the windshield with washer fluid, the wipers don't come on to wipe it away. This occurred today, and the wipers would not activate no matter what position I put the control stalk in. Then, after a few seconds, they came on and cleared the windshield. I have not noticed any other issues with the wipers. What might be going on here?
View 7 RepliesCurios problem with my car. When I spray washer fluid quickly the wipers do not start. I can literally empty litres of fluid on the windshield and they still will not activate. Now on other cars I have had you can play chicken and pull quickly on the lever and this I can do a off a couple of times without activating the wipers but not constantly. I had it in for service and the mechanic said he has never seen this problem before and does not even know how to fix it. It does get annoying that you have to waste a lot more fluid to activate the wipers "auto" function by holding it on a few seconds longer than needed.
View 7 RepliesI would like to monitor the windshield washer fluid level on our '03 Ford Taurus. Unfortunately, the fill nozzle goes underneath a piece of the chassis and I can't tell where it goes or where the reservoir is located. The manual was of no use whatsoever. I'm sure I'm missing something obvious, but I'm stumped.

View 2 RepliesIt seems that whenever it drops below 20 degrees, my windshield washer fluid lines freeze up on my '03, even though the blue stuff is proported to go down to minus 20 (the jug in my garage is still nice and liquid, even at these colder temps).
Is this a fixable problem? Should I switch over to a different type of juice? I don't remember this happening as frequently in previous years as it has this year.
My windshield wipers on my 97 f150 go very slow. Not sure if it's bad motors or what but I find it weird for them both to go at the same time. Is there a relay that could be causing this?
View 2 RepliesMy Windshield wipers randomly come on once in a while. I've noticed it more on a warmer day, but sometimes even when it is cold. There is really no pattern, sometimes the go once, sometimes they go for 2-3 minutes. Where should I start? Switch or wiper motor, maybe something else?

View 16 RepliesI have an 05 F-150 SuperCrew XLT 4x4. I just went to use my wipers and its not spraying anything. The driver side nozzle drips a little bit out, the passenger side does nothing. I can hear the motor engage and there is fluid in the reservoir. I can't see any leaks.
View 10 RepliesI have a 2001 ford f150 4.2 five speed with a little over 250,000 miles. The wipers will not do anything. I have gotten a new motor and plugged it in before I installed it and checked it and still nothing. I have changed the switch on the column and they still did not work. I have tried checking with a multimeter and a probe light. I do not know what is wrong with them or where else to go. What to do or what to check next?

My windshield washer fluid has stopped coming out of the cleaning nozzles on the rear, driver's and passenger sides. I can hear the pump pumping and have disconnected the hose from the driver's side and ran the windshield cleaner system. Cleaning fluid came out of the hose easily. Then the hose for the rear was tested. Fluid came out of the hose.
The reservoir was emptied and checked to see if there was dirt that might be clogging the intake. It was clean. The nozzles where the cleaning fluid comes out were cleaned with a small wire from both ends. Also a bottle of compressed air was used and air was felt coming through easily. I am thinking the pump might have lost enough pressure that no fluid can be pushed hard enough to come through the very end before it gets sprayed on the windshield. What might be wrong?
2013 Accord Sport, 3k miles ... It's 10 degrees in WI today. This is 1st time I had this problem. I press the washer lever towards and the washer fluid comes out, but the wipers don't move. They are not stuck on the windshield because of ice or anything either. What can I check?The next question is the turn signal. What does the lever do when you push the lever towards the dash? It clicks, but I don't notice that it does anything?
View 8 RepliesWhile I was at the shop getting the steering fixed I asked about the inop washer pump. They told me the pump failed.
Anyway 30 minutes later I have replaced it but still does not work.
So what next?
Which fuses do I check (I already checked them but give me specific numbers)
Where are the relay and how do I check them?
How do I test the pump?
The wipers work fine, but it isn't spraying washer fluid. It's 3 degrees outside. I am not sure if there is a fuse for the washer fluid sprayer motor...

My washer fluid pump is not working, it was a few weeks ago but now it is broken. The Owner's Manual only has the listing fuse 33 for "cluster, 4x4, wipers". It looks like some of the older models have an actual fuse for the "washer fluid pump". I checked fuse 33 under the dash and it is ok. What fuse controls the washer fluid pump?
The pump does not make noise when activated, so I'm starting at the fuse but I don't know what the hell is going on.
I can't find the fuse from the manual. Is it under another name?
