Ford F-150 - 1997-2003 :: OBD Port Not Working But Fuse Is Good?
Jun 21, 2013
Cigarette lighter works and shared fuse seems fine. OBD port even powers up my cheapo elm bluetooth reader. Unfortunately multiple different readers refuse to connect. I've tried disconnecting negative terminal for a half hour and trying again but no luck.

I just picked up a 99 F150 for a song because it has an issue with the PATS system and the po doesn't have a clue on what to do with it. I bought a new ignition cylinder and Auto Enginuity to program the PATS. The problem I'm having is that I'm not getting anything from the OBD2 port and the #3 fuse is good. What else would cause the port not to have signal?

My 03 5.4 the obd2 port isnt working i have tried 4 bluetooth adapters and a snap on scanner and nothing will connect to the ecm. im having problems and trying to read codes my check engine light isnt on but that don't mean anything. my truck is running really rich and blows a little bit black smoke when i rev it up after its been idling a few min and getting horrible gas mileage again. yesterday i went to start it and i had to crank on it 4 time before it finally started and then when i reved it up it almost died on the way back down but it caught itself. then today i go out and it starts right up and runs fine but its still running rich but i still cant get an obd2 adapter to connect to the ecm. I checked the fuse and its not blown my cigarette plug and the power port both work. i really dont know where to start in trying to figure out this problem. Right now iI don't really want to take it to a shop right now.

Power mirrors on my 98 S10 stopped working. First it was the drivers side now passenger side. Fuse is good, what it could be?

I was having intermittent fuel pressure problems. I replaced fuel pump and relay and was still having the problem. A figured out that wiggling the 20 amp fuse would cause the intermittent. Looking at the connections for the fuse, I can see one side was damaged. I figured I could pull the connector out from the back and fix the connector, but when I took the back off (see picture) I have a purple wire (labeled 1) going to one side of the fuse and a multi-connector (labeled 2) from one wire going to the other side. My luck, it's the multi-connector side that is damaged.
It Looks like the multi-connector goes to the Black and yellow wire. Instead of replacing the box, I figured I could just create an inline fuse for the fuel pump with the purple wire and splice it into the Black/yellow wire.
I can't see any problem with this, just looking for a second opinion. And I'm not sure how it would effect the relay. I can't find a fuse panel wiring diagram anywhere.

I plugged in my basic OBDII scanner but I'm getting nothing back (the scanner works on my car so it's not the scanner). This is inline with the transmission shop where they said they couldn't connect either to my truck. But now the question is: now what? I don't think there is a fuse or such but how to troubleshoot the port.
Oh, and no, the CEL is not illuminated, just the ABS light remaining on from when my 4R100 was replaced a couple weeks ago. Can't connect to diagnose.

I use to have the 95 f150 and 94 danger ranger. And I tried logging on after about a year and wouldn't let me so i started a new one, But im in a 98 f150 now with a 5.4 and 4x4. No i saw that there was a guy with the same problem as me but the thread went no where. So one night out of the blue my head lights or high beams will turn on. But everything else will. And all fuses are good and i look at the manual and there's no replays to mess with. Even though i already did. So what i had to do to get home was hot wire the passenger side bulb and i got power to both lights. So whats going on do u think it can be the switch ?. My power with started acting up a few days before this but I don't know if that has anything to do with the head lights.

The power port in my dash went out. The diagram I got off the internet says fuse #39 or 41. Both are good. Where else should I look?

I have a 96 Ranger . Neither my cigarette lighter or the auxiliary right beneath it works. The fuse checks good at the panel and I also used one of the penlight 12 volt testers and it shows no voltage on the lighter housing. Could there be another fuse under the hood that shares that circuit or do I have an open somewhere and need to tear down the dashboard? I haven't been inside that dashboard since I replace my cluster and the lighter worked after doing so. But I wish to avoid going back in there.

I went to open my trunk the other day by pressing the button on the trunk, and nothing, key in my pocket with a fresh battery (replaced in June). I then pulled out my key and pressed the trunk release on the fob and again nothing. I then went to the trunk release in the dash, and again nothing. I ended up pulling the key blade out and using that.... so inconvenient. ..
I did also check the fuse for the trunk release and it's still good...

Why the 30amp PCM fuse located in the under dash panel would blow. Problem started while truck was running and a simple replace of the fuse would it it back alive again. Now fuse is blowing at ignition on. Truck is 1997 F250 LD.

I am having trouble with fuse 23 under the hood blowing while driving. I have read several threads on this issue but still no luck. I have removed all 4 02 sensors and ac relay and still about 1/4 mile down the road the fuse blows, and is giving the shift solenoid A shift solenoid B and the torque converter clutch solenoid electrical circuit. I have checked both plugs on the trans, I even dropped the pan and ohmed the solenoids out. I dont know what else to do?

Blown fuse causing a lack of power to the OBD port?
I just got my Kiwi2 BT OBD2 adapter and was hoping to start diagnosing my truck, but the adapter won't power on while connected to the truck.
I pulled and visually inspected fuse #12, I also verified power to the cigarette lighter plug and the accessory 12v power outlet.
The adapter powered up with no problem when I connected to a co-worker's Tacoma.

I just bought an 01 F150 and previous owner didn't have the manual.
Need a copy of the fuse box diagram for this truck?
I've been surfing the net, and can't find what looks like the right one.

My air conditioner fuse keeps burning out , one right after the other for about 5 or 6 fuses. Then it will not burn one for about 2 to 3 weeks , then it will repeat the process. What is wrong?

I have a 2000 F150 with @175K miles. Replaced the clutch about a year ago, replaced the front calipers a few weeks ago, due to the right front locking up on my way home from work. Since then, when I try to start, it blows the fuel pump fuse. (#10)...

2002 F150 5.4L. Keeps blowing fuse in location #30 which is a 30a fuse for the following:
Passive anti theft transceiver
Cluster
Ignition Coils
Powertrain control module relay
Coil on plugs
Radio noise capacitor
ECC diode
Could this be a grounding spark plug wire?
