View 4 RepliesI'm looking for the location of the ECM in a 97' f150 5.4.. Also need to know difficulty on replacing it and is it what controls the windshield wipers and windows?

View 1 RepliesI have a 97 F-150 that the A/C went from blowing cold to hot instantly. I have done the following;
1. Checked fuse. Was good.
2. Checked Low Pressure connection.
On this, I jumpered the connector and could not get the clutch to engage. I also checked to make sure I had 12v from that point, which I did.
3. Checked the power to the clutch assembly. Got nothing. I also put 12v directly to the clutch and it poped in just fine.
Based on all of this I think I have a bad relay between the low pressure sensor and the clutch assembly. The only problem is I cant find it. Where this relay is located
2001 5.4l Windsor... I have been reading up on some post, and I'm wondering where the EGR VALVE is located on these motors?
View 5 RepliesI'm looking for information and possible photo location for the blower motor resistor. My truck has climate control. I've looked under the dash on the passenger side and behind the glove box door and I've been unable to spot the location. Do I have to remove the plastic panel behind the glove box?
View 6 RepliesNeed location of the fuses for 12V power in dash.
View 2 RepliesHad a question about where the battery fuse is located and it's number. I just put a brand new alternator on.my truck. Turns out I might not have needed one, switched the battery with the new alternator on and the truck still went dead after it ran for about 10-12 seconds. So some told me it may be the battery fuse but I don't know which fuse it could be.
View 2 RepliesI've got a 2001 f150 XLT and I've checked the Haynes manual and searched Google but I'm having no luck.
I'm trying to locate the sensor for the Automatic Head Lights.
I had a small "spill" on the dash at night and immediately the lights started to blink and click. It fixed itself but sometimes it will do a weird little "click, click noise" change thing. I would like to clean the sensor or ensure it's not partially blocked.
Locating subject relay on my F-150 XLT Extended Cab, 4.6Ltruck. All my research thus far indicates it is somewhere on the truck. An electrical diagram I've come up with shows it in the "Blower/Flasher Relay Block". So my question is exactly where is the Blower/Flasher Relay Block?
View 4 RepliesF250 LD 99. Battery light flashing from time to time. When it happen voltage gauge in dash go up (but not in red zone so far). All other light are blinking too but not on and of like battery warning light then like stronger - weaker. So far at Internet is said should be ground. I saw one ground at firewall close to negative post of battery but where is other ground? Can it be voltage regulator (alternator)? Did clean battery posts, didn’t work. 4,6 engine. Voltage at battery posts with engine on is 14,7 - 15,1 V. With engine off 12,3 V.
Didn't managed to check voltage when is battery light flashing as it only happen when I drive not at idle.
I am in the process of re-assembling a 97 F-150 that was disassembled by someone else. Looking for photos or reference as to where the bracket for the parking brake should be located and how? It looks as if the bracket connects to the front leaf spring hanger, but I'd like to see a photo of it in position as well as routing of the cable around the spring and axle. I'm concerned with re-installing it and having it in a position where it will bind or get pinched.
View 1 RepliesI have a 99 f150 XL 4.6, 5 speed. I spent some time tracing the leads around the ignition system to find the EDIS module. The purpose of this is to install a aftermarket tach coming off the EDIS. This seems to be a simple approach and I have a pin diagram handy for it. I am initially shying away from tapping into the EEC. Maybe better yet, what wire color to splice behind the gauge cluster that would be useful too.

View 5 RepliesTrucks throwing codes for cylinder 3 and 8 misfire. I pulled the plugs and both were covered in oil and cylinder 8s electrode was literally gone. so I replaced the plugs and within 5 miles it was missing again. so I replaced all plugs, all wires and coil packs. cylinder 8 plug had fouled out. Its a 4.6l 99. I have a mild exhaust leak where the manifold connects to the downpipe. but not bad enough I feel it should matter. it runs rough until about 3k rpm and then it kinda straightens out.
View 14 RepliesI have changed the COP and the injector as well as the spark plug. I am still having a misfire on #7 cylinder....
View 8 RepliesI've got 2003f150 4x4 and had a fender bender front end out of line so had it lined up but steering wheel 180 degrees out..well watched a video about just adjusting drag link..so i crawled under ready to adjust but cant find an adjustment collar. Mine the only one without it?
View 10 Replies1999 f250 ld, 5.4.
Started running rough, checked codes. Initially got po300, po304. Reset, and when I checked again, had po171.
Checked the PCV lines, and found a split right near the throttle body. Of course. broke the plastic tube trying to pull it off. Replaced the short piece of hose with a longer piece to make up for the broken plastic tube.
Now, po171 is gone, but the others remain.
Cylinder # 4 looks impossible to get to. I would like to swap COPs to see if the code moves.
A. does this make sense?
B. how the hell to I get back there?
At a minimum, it looks like I have to disconnect a bunch of hoses, and maybe even remove the fuel rail.
whats the best way to clean a 97 f150 5.4 cyl head
View 2 RepliesMy truck has developed a misfire on cylinders 1 and 5. The OBD2 scanner at autozone says code P0300, Po301 and P0305. I bought a new set of plugs and wires. Problem still there. I then replaced the both coils. Problem is still there. Is there a control module or something that could kill those 2 cylinders like on the older trucks with distributors?
