View 2 RepliesReally love my 2013 F550 but the door chime is driving me crazy. On my 2003 f150 you could just drop the column cover and unhook one wire running to the tumbler. So I had a look and found it to be totally different. How to unhook it on this truck?
View 2 RepliesI'm trying to get an F150/1997 started that's been sitting for about 2 years. After installing the battery, turning the key, nothing happens. No click, no turnover, nothing. The dash lights come on along with open door chime.
What to check first or troubleshoot this? The vehicle was running fine when parked, battery removed. I was thinking the brake pedal switch might be corroded, or maybe someone unplugged something under the hood or tampered with something.
1994 F150 4X 201,000mi ... Replaced clockspring, now have chime alert with door open and key NOT in ignition. Chime shuts off when the door is closed.
View 7 RepliesMy 97 f250 light duty has give me fits. The power windows do not work up or down either side, no door chime or pdl either.i think this is related to the gem module cause I have run a 12 v to the motor itself in the door and it goes up and down.checked all fuses and switched relays.I don't even hear any clicking relays.I have spliced into the orang/white wire at the 2pin connector to the motor and have hooked it to a purple wire on the back of the window switch and now have pdl,and door chime, and hear clicking under dash but still no windows. What am I missing is there another wire to splice into?
View 1 RepliesI am doing some work on the truck and need to get the front drive shaft to drop down, I have the four bolts out but I can not get it to move. What am I not doing?
View 3 RepliesHow do I disable the chime (2008 F150) that sounds when the key is in the ignition and the door is open? I'd like to keep the chime that sounds when the lights are left on and the door is open. Is it possible to accomplish both objectives?
And, on the off chance that someone from Ford ever looks at these forums: It would sure be nice if you designed the audible warnings with either a timer in the circuit (so it would sound for a few seconds and then stop); or, provide a cancel button for the chime (as is common in commercial and military aircraft).
So I bought this 1997 Saturn SW2 that had its engine replaced. I think they wired it wrong when they did it. They only way to start it is to disconnect the battery then reconnect it. If you don't and just shut it off with the key and wait a minute, when you turn the key to the on position, the instrument panel will not come back on without disconnecting the battery. However, if you start the car and then shut it off, then turn the key right back on (less than a minute) you can start the car without disconnecting the battery. It's like something needs to be reset once you shut the car off and leave it off for a while.
View 3 RepliesRecently the key chime will not stop when I remove the ignition key. It doesn't do it all the time but is getting more frequent. Usually I can reinsert the key and remove it once or twice and it will stop . How to remedy this issue? Is there something inside the ignition that can be repaired or am I looking at replacing the entire thing?

View 5 RepliesIn my 2007 f-250 it started with the door ajar chime that would click on then off somewhat randomly. Then it started doing it every morning on a cold start for about 20 minutes then the light and chime would click off. Now it stays on constantly. And my automatic headlights are turning on when the engine and ignition is all off and killing my battery. Where to start?
View 1 RepliesWhere is the door chime? I just want to remove it. My truck is a 2014 e350.
View 1 RepliesHow do you get the door chime to go away when the key is still in the ignition?
Also, how do stop the driver seat from moving every time the key is removed?
How to disconnect the door chime? I like to keep my drivers door open while I listen to the radio and it would be nice to not have the annoying chime ring.
View 11 RepliesGot a 2002 Ranger XLT v6 auto w/80k on the clock. When I exit the truck and close the door with the key in the ignition the chime dings for about 10 seconds before stopping. Is there a way to shorten this? ( Other than removing the key.)
View 2 RepliesI tried moving a latch in the (driver) door to stop the chime from chiming when the driver door is open and the ignition is in the accessory position, but no luck. Looking for a solution for temporarily disabling the chime through some mechanical means? (2010 Ranger)
View 10 RepliesHow to disable my door chime with the key in and in the ACC position on a 2015 F350 Super Duty 6.7L. I did pull the blue wire with gray tracer to get rid of the key in chime. I want to use my truck for a radio when i am in the field.
View 4 RepliesI have a 2000 ford windstar LX. When i drive it, the door chime sensor comes on and off randomly and door starts locking unlocking. Happens more often when the road is bumpy or when i brake hard.
Per the local dealer I changed all four door actuators (the front one had stopped working) . All four door actuators are brand new and working but the issue still exists.
What should be my next steps in troubleshooting? Is there a way to simply disconnect these door chime sensor?
I have a 2000 Excursion 7.3 and having problems right now because my Door Chime and Dome light dont work when the doors are open. But for some odd reason, when the rear door is open, the dome lights work. The 4 doors doesnt work yet the rear door does
The reason i want this is because i want to install an alarm and the door signal is needed and it is suppose to be tapped at the dome/chime so when the door is opened, the alarm will sound so it is not just relying on the Shock sensor.
My names brad. I have the old model 97 . Is it possible to swap the cab to a 4 door. Its got a 8ft bed
View 1 RepliesI'm looking for a way to eliminate the door chime when the keys are in the ignition and the door is open. I know there is a way to disable it but I don't want to permanently disable...just sometimes.
A friend found a wiring diagram and installed a toggle switch in the drivers kick panel that basically cuts the power to the chime. His F-150 was a different year than mine and I don't know if the F-150's and F-250 use the same color wiring.
I want to do the same thing but need to know which wire that operates the chime. Which wire or have a wiring diagram for a 2006 F-250.
