So yesterday i got my windshield tinted at a shop and now im having issues. My ac stays on when the key is out of the ignition i can use all settings from low to high. My windshield wipers only work in neutral and park. Im calling them when they open but i think the water they spray on the tint got down in the dash and fried something.
View 6 RepliesI just had my windshield replaced due to a large rock cracking my old windshield a few weeks back. The new windshield does not have a fade up on the top, its just the same top to bottom. I was looking into just having the first 6 inches or so have tint put on. I think its called a banner tint when people do this. Does this look tacky? or is it okay. I have 35% tint all around.
View 3 RepliesMy 1997 f150 when I put her in drive the speedometer goes up to aproxx 36 mph and stays there no matter what I do or how fast I drive and then slowly falls back to zero when I shut the truck down. Where can I start, I had someone look at it years ago and the said the cluster was bad. I use my GPS to tell me the speed I am going, everything else works in the cluster.

View 2 RepliesTRUCK- 1997 F-150 4x4 5.4L 180,000 miles ( great truck ) The ABS light came on yesterday and wont go off. I checked all the wires I could see from under thr truck (looked good). Then I replaced the rear diff abs sensor, no luck. The omhs on the old one was 1200 and i guess that is in range. The light comes on when I start along with the 4x4 and low range light the 4x4 and low light go off and ABS flickers and comes right back with the truck still in park. Where are the front wheel sensors and how hard are they to get at? Can they be tested , fixed, or replaced from a junkyard?

View 14 RepliesMy 2001 F150 has the ABS light on. I can startup and it runs thru the continuity test, light off, in park, no problem. Push on the brake pedal, no problem. Put it in gear and the light comes on, before you start to roll. Should mean its not the speed pickups, i checked them for ohms and 5 volt supply to each. I ran the scanner and got P0703 on the extended codes.
That normally means bad pressure switch on the brake booster. I knew that would effect cruise control and external leaks can be a problem, but could that be related to the 703 code ? Both "brake" related ? I am tempted to buy a switch and install. I do have the factory recall harness on the switch. And check for continuity thru the switch. Has continuity, but only a few ohms, not sure what it should be.
I might have a chance to pick up an 1997 F150 with a 4.6 pretty cheap. He has replaced the ignition switch and lock cylinder, Says it keeps turning over until you put in in gear. In my experience a solenoid that is sticking wont stop until you disconnect the battery, just wondering what people think it might be? I am thinking I will just put a push button stater to make it work if its a wiring issue.

View 1 RepliesNew, to me, 2002 F-150 that developed heater core leak. I tore down the dash and replaced the heater core and reassembled everything.
All is good except that now the air bag light on the instrument cluster stays on continuously. There is no blinking...just a solid light that stays on.
I must have missed a connection, though I'm at a loss because I thought I got everything. Is there an obvious (though not obvious to me) connector that I should be looking for?
My windshield wipers on my 97 f150 go very slow. Not sure if it's bad motors or what but I find it weird for them both to go at the same time. Is there a relay that could be causing this?
View 2 RepliesMy Windshield wipers randomly come on once in a while. I've noticed it more on a warmer day, but sometimes even when it is cold. There is really no pattern, sometimes the go once, sometimes they go for 2-3 minutes. Where should I start? Switch or wiper motor, maybe something else?

My wife was driving our 2001 Expo the other day and the warning light came on that the windshield washer fluid was low. When she got home I popped the top the re fill the washer fluid and there was what appeared to be green coolant in the reservoir. It even smelled like coolant.
It filled the reservoir about half way which made me wonder why even though it was coolant it made the washer fluid light come on. I then checked the coolant reservoir and it had fluid in it but it looked brown and nasty. The motor is the 5.4. What is going on?
I just bought a 1998 ford f150. Wipers do not work, the wipers only work when i hit windshield washer, but no washer fluid comes out, what could it be?

View 5 Replies99 F 250LD 240k miles. I think I know the answer but hope I'm wrong. Started noticing the blower fan staying on when left in the panel position, even with key out. This morning I walked by my truck and noticed the radio on. Opened the door and the door chime started beeping. Is this a case of a leaky windshield and water running down the a-pillar and getting the GEM wet? Hope not but I think that's it. I haven't seen any water leaks yet. Could it be a stuck ignition relay? I've never heard of a relay staying open. Could it be a corroded fuse panel. i also heard a clicking coming from the area of the PCM recently but it stopped.
View 7 RepliesI recently purchased my 1998 F150 Lariat, and it came with a small silver key (I haven't figured out what it's for yet), and a key for the ignition, plus the remote door lock control on the key chain.
Naturally, for the first several weeks I had been locking and unlocking the doors with the remote. I had assumed that the ignition key would also lock/unlock the doors and tailgate. Well, it fits into the locks, but doesn't turn.
Could it be that a different key is required for doors, or, maybe the door lock cylinders are seized?
I'm having a problem with my ignition switch. It won't turn and I have to turn the steering wheel for it to finally work.
