I just bought a 2000 Excursion limited v10 4x4. I'm going camping this weekend so trying to install my brake controller. I found the plug but noticed these wires dangling. I can't see the back of the harness. I'm afraid the PO may have cut them to install a universal harness. How to recognize them? I don't want to buy a ford specific harness if the wiring has been cut.
View 3 RepliesFirst, need a wiring diagram for the outputs on the back of the brake controller module? I want to check and see if there is a problem with the connection to the rheostat. I can activate the trailer brakes with the slider bar but not with the brakes.
Second, where I can get a new OEM controller that will replace my old one if I can't "Cypher it out"?

View 8 RepliesI removed the rear radio controller from the back of the console and installed a power inverter in its place. It fit great and everything went smoothly. I should have known it was too easy... I now have no sound coming out of the rear speakers. I assume there is a way to jump the wires to allow the speakers to work, but I'd need a wiring diagram. Right now I have the controller hooked up and buried in the console, which I guess is fine. It's just annoying.

Messed with the switch and eventually jumped straight from the connector to ground... still no light. The light does illuminate with key on. I have tested the fuses. Where do I go from here? View 14 RepliesI am working on my son's 1997 F-150, 2 wheel drive, 4/6L truck. He was driving it when the gauges and the tach stopped working. I replaced the cluster and it still blows the fuses. The five amp fuse that is specifically for the cluster doesn't blow. It is a twenty five amp fuse that also power the overdrive circuit, etc.
After replacing the gauge cluster I installed a new fuse and the overdrive button on the shifter started smoking. Where I could get a wiring diagram of this circuit so I can see how it is wired.
I'm in the process of putting a brake controller and 7 pin plug in on my 98 F150 Super Cab, 4x4, 4.6 L with a auto trans. Got the Tekonsha Voyager hooked up to the existing harness under the dash. I have the 7 pin installed out back and thats where my problem begins. The 7 pin harness came with 3 30amp fuses and 2 relays that need to be placed in the power distribution box under the hood. I can figure out where the fuses go but my manual says nothing about the relays. The relays that are already in the box are for things like fuel pump etc.

View 3 RepliesI am curious if it is possible to make a stand alone controller for the electric shift transfer case in a 2000 F-350?
The reason I ask is, this is swapped into a 4x4 conversion in a van and I would like the transfer case to work like the factory, but I don't want to swap over the whole GEM module. I have the high to low and low to high shift relays and wiring, the selector switch from the dash.
I know that powering up the relays will shift the transfer case, but the GEM module tells when the relays need to shut off, and that is where I am not sure what to do. I am assuming that the other plug on the shift motor (6 pin plug) is the sensor that tells the GEM module where the shift is at.
What needs to be done (with a bank of relays).....
I am going to be pulling a trailer next week. I bought a raybestos voyager XP controller. I expected it to be plug and play but what I got was four wires. I have heard that there is a plug ready under the dash to plug a controller into directly. I found a gray pigtail with male ends. Is this it? Should I take controller back and get one with the correct plug or is there a harness one can buy or is a stop to my local ford dealer in the future.

View 1 RepliesI have a 1999 Ford F-150 4X4 w/4.6L V8 W code, I recently lost all brakes. The primary line from Master Cylinder to ABS Pump rusted out completely. Replaced them but the other lines from ABS Pump to wheels are looking real bad. So I need to replace them, however I have no idea what the routing system looks like. Looking for a 97-03 F-150 Brake Line Diagram? I live at the jersey shore... so yeah rust is extremely common.... unfortunately.Also, where to get line assemblies?
View 7 RepliesLooking for a link to the fuel pump wiring for a 2000 V10 Ex? I'm trying to pinpoint my no start issue and want to make sure I don't miss anything. I think it goes from 20 amp fuse under hood to inertia switch to relay under hood to pump? 20 amp fuse has power but at the inertia switch I have no voltage, just approx 35 ohms resistance to ground on both outside wires. Does the inertia switch close a ground or should it have voltage?

View 7 RepliesI just bought a hard to start 1990 F250. Per the board, just replaced all 8 glow plugs with Motorcraft. Still wouldn't start (it turns over but will only start if you use either). I attempted to install a new BWD brand (Borg Warner I believe) glow plug connector relay today...I removed the old no problem, but am unsure what wires to plug where....the only connection that I'm sure about is the blue wire that works the WTS feature...it plugs in easily but I don't know if there are other connections that need to be made or not? All the wires run from the posts and into the bottom of the unit.

View 1 RepliesI can't find a wiring diagram for the UVCH pigtail anywhere. The one that came with the harness assumes the old one was still connected. My wires were burned through and I need to know what colors to wire in from the truck to the new harness so everything matches up.
View 9 RepliesI am looking at putting a couple small LEDs in the pinch weld area under the doors on the cab. I want to have them come on when I open up a door. Where is the best place to grab power from the door switch circuit for that? The passenger side I was thinking of grabbing it where it goes into the sleeve between the cab and the door, but on the drivers side there are a lot of things in the way to get to that point. Can I pick it up down in the door jamb area? Is there a wire going to the dome light there?
