I have a 99 5.4L V8 Triton engine. The power steering is not working. Need a full power steering diagram including components and hoses/lines? I have attached a picture of a broken line which I think might be for the power steering but I'm not sure. What this (?) line is in the attached picture or have a diagram?
View 3 Replies1999 F-150 XLT 5.4L Triton 4x4 super cab with a 4" body lift. I bought it used. It has 225,000 miles with engine and transmission rebuilt. This truck doesn't get driven every day - sometimes sits for a week or so at a time...
Issue: A couple weeks ago, it took 4 or 5 attempts to get it to start. Once it started it ran fine and re-started fine. Then my wife drove it but parked it back at home with the gas practically empty. Then it sat for at least a week or so before attempting to start it again. Now it just turns over and won't fire. I suspect fuel pump relay, fuel filter, or fuel pump (hoping its not the latter)
What I have done so far:
1. I put more gas in it in case it really was skimming the bottom of the tank.
2. I tried cycling the key several times thinking that maybe the fuel line just needed to prime.
3. I don't hear the fuel pump "whine" for two seconds when I turn the key to just before start.
4. I checked the fuel pump relay fuse (#10) - not blown
5. I have swapped thet fuel pump relay (#301) with another relay
6. I put 12 volts across the just the relay and I can hear it picking up and dropping out (when not inserted into slot 301)
7. I put my hand on the relay and had someone else turn the key and I can feel it picking up and dropping out (when installed into slot 301)
8. I went and checked out a fuel pressure tester from auto zone and connected it to the schrader valve and got 0 psi while turning the engine over.
All this points me to the fuel pump, but I am not looking forward to dropping the gas tank. With 0 psi, I doubt the filter is just clogged. I would still get some kind of pressure at the fuel rail, right?
Looking for diagrams for where the fuel filter is, the coils are in the engine compartment, and a steering wheel diagram because mine wobbles. I did attempt to look for one in a hayes when I was at Pep Boys a bit ago and didn't see one. 1998 F150 4.6L v8 w/auto trans 4wd 3dr...

I have the xlt 4X4 with a 4.6L Triton and have heard many things, I've heard that you can use a supercharger from a mustang 4.6, the supercharger off of a 5.4l lightning engine, or many other solutions. Which is best? I know that they will all involve some modification but I wanna explore my options and get some knowlege.
View 14 RepliesI have a 1999 Ford F-150 4X4 w/4.6L V8 W code, I recently lost all brakes. The primary line from Master Cylinder to ABS Pump rusted out completely. Replaced them but the other lines from ABS Pump to wheels are looking real bad. So I need to replace them, however I have no idea what the routing system looks like. Looking for a 97-03 F-150 Brake Line Diagram? I live at the jersey shore... so yeah rust is extremely common.... unfortunately.Also, where to get line assemblies?
View 7 RepliesNew truck to me. Truck was advertised with a slow coolant leak. Figured I would trace the leak down and get it repaired no issues. Anyway, working on it this evening I take a close look around the oil filler area and notice the dreaded milkshake color.
I drained the oil out of the truck and the oil actually came out nice and black. Is the headgasket the only area that would cause the oil/coolant mixture? Supposedly the truck has never been overheated.
At any rate, on to find articles on how to pull apart a 4.6L Triton head. I'll see if I'm up to this challenge.

View 8 RepliesLooking for the wiring diagram with colors for which port should be what wire for the obd2 connector for my early 99 f-250. I actually think it is obd 1 on our trucks but you get the idea. My truck doesn't have power to the plug I guess. I have a guy plug in a scanner to take a look at everything but he said the plug wouldn't power up his scanner. Just trying to get this fixed. Another question, if I buy a AE does that require the truck to power up the software or does it get powered my the laptop?

View 9 RepliesI am looking at putting a couple small LEDs in the pinch weld area under the doors on the cab. I want to have them come on when I open up a door. Where is the best place to grab power from the door switch circuit for that? The passenger side I was thinking of grabbing it where it goes into the sleeve between the cab and the door, but on the drivers side there are a lot of things in the way to get to that point. Can I pick it up down in the door jamb area? Is there a wire going to the dome light there?

View 9 RepliesGot a 2002 7.3 f550 and the other morning it wouldn't go into high idle. Noticed my parking brake light was off. Messed with the switch and eventually jumped straight from the connector to ground... still no light. The light does illuminate with key on. I have tested the fuses. Where do I go from here? Looking for a wiring diagram....

View 14 RepliesI have a new to me 1999 F250 with the 7.3 engine. The previous owner installed a push button start to get around the ignition actuator being broke. Over the weekend I pulled the column and replaced the actuator but the truck will still not start with the key; with the push button it starts just fine. I'm not getting any power on the starter relay signal wire, so I suspect something in between the key and starter relay. I searched around a bit, but could not find a wiring diagram for a 1999 diesel super duty.

View 8 RepliesI just bought a 2000 Excursion limited v10 4x4. I'm going camping this weekend so trying to install my brake controller. I found the plug but noticed these wires dangling. I can't see the back of the harness. I'm afraid the PO may have cut them to install a universal harness. How to recognize them? I don't want to buy a ford specific harness if the wiring has been cut.
View 3 RepliesI am working on my son's 1997 F-150, 2 wheel drive, 4/6L truck. He was driving it when the gauges and the tach stopped working. I replaced the cluster and it still blows the fuses. The five amp fuse that is specifically for the cluster doesn't blow. It is a twenty five amp fuse that also power the overdrive circuit, etc.
After replacing the gauge cluster I installed a new fuse and the overdrive button on the shifter started smoking. Where I could get a wiring diagram of this circuit so I can see how it is wired.
