When using the power lumbar adjustment in the seat back of my wifes 08 eddie bauer explorer, it stopped moving and I now hear a snapping / popping noise from the seat back. Is there any way to remove leather seat cover to check out what might have come loose or broke?

View 5 Replies2011 Volvo XC70. I'm hearing a popping sound similar to a plastic bottle popping coming somewhere from the back seat of my Volvo XC70. This usually occurs while driving a few miles after first starting the vehicle and happens only once. We've check the car for any plastic bottles that may have been lodged under the seat or inside the car and no bottles were found. Where this sound is coming from. There seems to be no mechanical problems associated with it, just this popping sound which is quite loud.
View 1 RepliesSo my 2004 explorer 4.0 XLT sport has a strange clicking noise every so often. I first noticed it when I back out of a parking spot, at one point almost every time I hear a loud snap, sounds like a bolt breaking. Wheel is turned and backing up.
If I get out and have wife do it of course the noise is gone and doesn't reappear. Also if I drive down a parking lot slowly I can hear a clicking noise if I roll the windows down. This sounds like a nail in a tire, click, click click at regular intervals.
But, put the rig on a lift and you don't hear anything. Nothing, I am thinking I have a damaged axle up front but don't see anything out of the ordinary. No torn axle boots, no looseness, nothing. It's a 4x4 not full time so even in 2wd the front axles are turning.
I have a friend with a problem. He has a 2007 Explorer Limited that when he hits a bump the drivers side power seat moves all the way back.
View 1 RepliesI have a 2007 Ranger XLT 2 Door Extracab and have a question about the seats in this vehicle. I'm a 6' 1" guy and have long legs. I've lamented how little travel the seats (esp the drivers seat) has. Since I have long legs I have the seat as far back as it apparently goes. On long trips, this becomes exceedingly uncomfortable. To top it off, I had a knee injury recently and the range of motion of my knees are less than normal, making it impossible to drive the truck with the limited ability to move the seat further back.. My question is: Is there a way to get the seat to go further back, without extensive engineering work? I've noticed this seems to be a Ford thing as my wife's 2012 Escape has the same problem.
View 1 RepliesI just picked up a 2011 Golf TDI a week ago and so far, I love it! I have about 600 miles on it now and I have noticed that the driver's side lumbar support is very stiff to turn compared to the passenger side. It is also making a creaking noise when it is adjusted and I can feel the seat compress slightly when I put pressure on it (say, when I shift gears or move positions) and it also makes noise when doing so.
Just wondering if this is a common problem, if there is an easy fix, or should the dealer take care of it. My thoughts right now are to take it right back to the dealer and let them deal with it.
The manual comes with R32 shows a seat lumbar control on the side but obviously not on R32. Is the lumbar support adjustable on R32? I remember when I first sit in the car I feel the seat is pretty tight (in a good way) but now not as tight, maybe I am too used to it now.
View 9 RepliesMy daughter has a 94 explorer xlt 4 dr. The window motor regulators are going out. I replaced one of the front ones and decided I'd just make the parts needed next time. All that was really wrong with the front was the little plastic slugs were crushed. They are easy enough to make.
Tonight I tried to remove one of the rear motors, so I could open it up and get the measurements I needed. I found 2 screws that secure the motor, but that's not all that holds it. It seems to be mounted with a spot welded stud as well. There is a small dimple in the door panel in the approximate area.
Before I start drilling things that might not need drilled, I thought maybe I better check here first. How is this supposed to be removed ? The Haynes manual for it tells nothing as to the removal and replacement of any of the window motors. Is the reg inside the gear head anything like the front door motors ?
My a/c stopped blowing from the front seats but the back seats still blow. My gut is saying that the blower motor has went out, because all my fuses that I've checked aren't blown. It's too hot for the blower to go out.
View 4 RepliesMy defrost & front vents work fine. My back vents that are in the back of the console switch from hot to cold like it suppose to, but they do not blow out enough to feel it in the back seat or third row seat.
Also when I use the heat the front flat part of the console by the drink holders especially gets red hot to the point it can melt plastic ink pen or anything else you lay there. which concerns me since I have a 9 yr old.
Wife tells me last evening while in gas station fuel lid on side of truck made a popping noise and lid now just flops back and forth and does not stay shut. I haven't looked yet but is this common problem and can i fix or dealer job. 2004 F150 XLT ....
View 1 RepliesPopping coming from their driver seat? It mostly "pops" when I apply the brakes coming to a full stop or sometimes after I stopped and accelerate, the seat back pops. It's intermittent and I'm afraid the dealership cannot replicate the problem when I take it in.

View 5 RepliesIt's my turn, while out site seeing my back seat power window don't work , the control from drivers seat or from the back seat door control, I popped both covers on the control switch and both are firmly plugged in, I don't have my meter with me to see if power is running back to the switch , this morning I'll try to switch out the two back seat controls to see if I can get at least that window to go down , 04 350 , would there be a fuse for each or is it in the switch in the door that the harness plugs into , that's the only window that won't go down...

View 14 RepliesJust recently noticed in the past 2 weeks, that after shutting off my Tuscon, about a minute or 2 later it makes a popping noise coming from the back. It almost sounds like a piece of metal when it expands.

issue: snapping sound like crushing tin can at take off and now at a fast stop.
Repairs already done:
upper control arms
lower ball joints
Sway bar link and bushing
4wd cv axle shaft assembly (both side )
Slip yoke grease.
Tie rod ends replace inner and outer
I put the truck an a lift and put it on drive and there is no sound.
I have 09 ford explorer sport trac and having problem with Traction Control. On take off the light flashes and I have noise coming from the back. (the noises that the book state when trac is on). It doesn't happen all the time on take off but when it does its an awful noise. It will not do it at all if its a rolling stop and drives fine after going???
View 3 RepliesI bought a 2010 f150 from the company I work for.... It had a blown front diff, when I bought it, I just put a complete front diff assembly and front drive shaft on it. Thought I was golden, but when I accelerate fast there is a slipping/ snapping noise which sounds like it's coming from transfer case area... Accelerate slow and steady up to highway speeds it doesn't happen. This problem only happens in four wheel drive.... what this could be!???
