Got a 06 Limited with power third row option. The rear Pas. side seat is stuck down and when I push the button you can hear the motor running but the seat does not move. I have tried shaking the seat while pushing the button with no luck.
View 14 RepliesSo my Push Button 4 wheel drive wont engage. The light on the dash wont light up and it doesn't shift into 4x4. Where to start? I would like to check the simple stuff first. O and my heat only gets hot when im giving the vehicle gas. This is all on a 2003 Ford Explorer.
View 2 Replies I drive (or more recently used to drive) a 2002 VW Jetta which has been having extreme difficulty running correctly during moist weather. Initially, upon start-up, I will note a severe problem.... it seems as if it's shaky, very shaky, and does not want to move. Upon trying to move it ignoring it's obvious signs, it does not want to take when I push in the gas....seeming to jerk or move incredibly slow. Usually feeling as if I can barely get it to move a 10 yards or so before being too nervous to push it any further. These issues seem to exist far far far more frequently in wet or moist weather (even a day or 2 after it has rained).
The car has always been well taken care of. What are the possible causes, then I might have some better luck requesting services upon calling mechanics around the area.... I am currently in college, away from home, and I absolutely cannot afford to get "nickle-and-dimed" by the dealership over every possible minor detail which could POSSIBLY need some tuning-up. It currently has just over 100,000 miles and has never had any major replacements.
My daughter has a 94 explorer xlt 4 dr. The window motor regulators are going out. I replaced one of the front ones and decided I'd just make the parts needed next time. All that was really wrong with the front was the little plastic slugs were crushed. They are easy enough to make.
Tonight I tried to remove one of the rear motors, so I could open it up and get the measurements I needed. I found 2 screws that secure the motor, but that's not all that holds it. It seems to be mounted with a spot welded stud as well. There is a small dimple in the door panel in the approximate area.
Before I start drilling things that might not need drilled, I thought maybe I better check here first. How is this supposed to be removed ? The Haynes manual for it tells nothing as to the removal and replacement of any of the window motors. Is the reg inside the gear head anything like the front door motors ?
I have a 1997 ford aerostar van that i recently acquired through some family,when i got it it was running fine but has recently started having troubles.The Question i have is this i put my car in drive or reverse and push the gas pedal the car doesn't move.....we have tried putting transmission fluid into it and that worked temporarily. What it could be except just a bad transmission?
View 2 RepliesDoes the traction control turn off and stay off when you push the button? I read an owners manual and the way it is written makes me wonder. It makes it sound like the traction control reengages when you put the truck in reverse. Even when you had it turned off.
What are the facts? What is the real difference between an F350 SRW at 11,200 or 11,500 GVW and one with the 10,000 GVW. Is it just paperwork or do they change springs?
1993 ford ranger ... Having issues with washer fluid not working. Mine has started cutting out or not even working when I push the button. But if bang it on the end of the handle with something hard it will work just long enough to clean the salt off the window.

While driving, this car, suddenly accelerator pedal becomes very hard to push and car will not move at all even if you press hard pedal to the floor( Requires a lots of force). If I put brakes on, shift the transmission to reverse and to then to drive, it will start moving again. No check engine light comes on and there are no codes stored in computer. This never happens on cruise control. Car starts flawlessly even on cold morning. Battery is new and charging system works fine. Spark plugs were changed at 30,000 miles so also direct ignition coil on cylinder No.3 .....
View 3 RepliesI have a 2001 infiniti i30 automatic with about 118000 miles. The car runs and drives fine but every now and then while i am driving it and i push on gas the RPM will go up but the car will not move forward. I noticed that this usually happens when I drive the car a lot. If i turn it off and on it drives normal again. I have had 3 mechanics try to troubleshoot it one recommended to change the MAF which I did and the car ran fine for about 6 months and is starting to do it again. Service engine soon light is on again. What exactly is the issue that's causing it.
View 2 RepliesI have a 2010 prius and I have to hold the key next to the push to start button. I took it to the dealer and they told me they had to change a smart key module and 2 new keys. I told them to do it. I picked it up and worked great, 2 days later the same thing happened.

View 3 RepliesSo lately days have been getting colder and my F is behaving a bit weird. This issue may have happened on warmer days but it happens more frequent now. So issue is that the car takes a few tries before the push button actually works. Even if I depress the brake pedal the light stays orange instead of turning to green so I have to press it several times to start the car.
Also at least one time the car actually begins to crank but it falls short, like it doesn't makes it through the full cranking sequence hence requiring a second shot.
Is my button broken or is my battery dying?
I need to get the push start button out so I can clean the electrical contacts. I've seen a DIY elsewhere online but it was for a push start button located in the steering column.
Does this involve removing the entire center console, or possibly just the shift boot and ring? It's a Tiptronic 4motion.
When I push the button or use the fob to open the trunk, it opens but the trunk lid does not pop up. I have to pull it up manually. Is there some trick I'm missing? I skimmed the manual but didn't find anything.
I found my answer. Apparently they don't pop open on the older models, which is ridiculous. They started putting that option on cars years ago! Unbelievable.
My rotary push button, the big round button in the middle of the infotainment system stopped working a day ago. It was working one day and stopped working the next. If freely rotates without any resistance, but doesn't carry out any of the previous functions that it performed. All the other buttons on the infotainment system work perfectly.

I want to know which method is the more appropriate and safer option to start the engine with a push button. There are two ways:
Method 1) You get in the car, press the brake, push the button to START
Method 2) You get in the car, push the button till all the lights come on, wait for a few seconds, press the brake, and push the button to START
Which one is more recommended? Does either option have any affect on the mechanism and life of the Push Button function?
My 2014 Tiguan SEL has been giving me issues with the start button - hesitates at start, tries to start but doesn't and won't start at all. Took to dealership in March/April and they had it for 2 days. "Couldn't duplicate" so nothing was done.
I've read about this same issue in other VW forums and how cleaning the contact points on the start button has eliminated this problem. Unfortunately, the start button on the other VWs is on the steering column. How to remove the start button? Do I need to remove the entire center console? I've already tried by taking off the boot/trim and can't get to the button.
My daughter has a 2001 S60. She's noticed lately that when she pushes the lock button on the key fob that the driver's door does not lock.
The other three doors lock, and the alarm sets. Not sure if I just need to get the shop to pull the door panel and lubricate it, or if it may be more serious.
I have a 2006 Lexus GS 300 and about two weeks ago the key fob stopped working. I replaced two new batteries and nothing. I read up and found that if you place the fob over the start button and wait for the green light it would start. I have been starting the car like that ever since. Now here is the issue. Yesterday I went out to eat and when I was about to leave it would not start with the key over the button. I did not get a green light, nothing. after trying for about 10 minutes I got it to turn on the electrical system (basically it acted like it started but didn't) all the lights turned on and I saw the Check complete on the dash but the engine did not crank or start at all. Finally I disconnected the battery for 5 minutes and connected it again and was able to get it to start and drive home, now back to the same problem.

It has a button on the key that automatically opens the trunk, a button on the left of the drivers side that automatically opens the trunk and the button on the trunk that automatically closes it (so you don't manually close it). But after I bought it, I noticed that when I push the button on the underside of the trunk it does NOT automatically open.
View 4 RepliesI have a question about turning the car into accessory mode when I shut the car off from running. Right now, when I push the button and shut it off, everything shuts off including the radio. But I want the radio to stay on when that happens. I couldn't find any settings on this and it seems really foolish that it would be designed that way.
