Friend bought a 2012 Explorer Limited and there is no cabin air filter. Is this right or might it taken out by previous owner?

View 1 RepliesDo my 2012 F250 6.7 liter Powerstroke diesel has a cabin air filter? I have looked everywhere I could think of and am unable to find one. Does this mean it doesn't have one?

View 19 RepliesMy cabin filter is getting pretty dirty. I have been looking around at the different types of filters and was wondering. Is there any advantage in replacing the normal paper pleated filter with one that is lined with charcoal? What do you think of filter that is coated with charcoal and baking soda?
View 14 RepliesI have a 2013 Camry XLE V6, and it now has almost 17,400 miles on it. About a month ago, I replaced the Cabin Air Filter (was definitely dirty) and the Engine Air Filter (was somewhat dirty). I made triply sure that I installed the Cabin Air Filter the correct way (the Air Filter is easier, as there is only one way to put it on).
In any event, after the car sits a while, and I start it up, whether I let air circulate from the outside or not, when I press the fan button for the A/C, initially a "musky" smell is present, but it does go away fairly quickly. (I have not tried this in "heat" (non A/C) mode yet). Why this happens? Seems somewhat strange (by the way, I used the correct STP filters that I previously purchased at AutoZone).
Every day for the last four years the timer on the air filter drives me crazy. It insists on switching from filter to outside air after three minutes, which sucks back in all the Diesel fumes and dust I just finished filtering. I would very much like to disable the timer. I'm not afraid of cutting wires.

1) Engine Air Filter(element)
2) Cabin Air Filter
Not sure if there is a post for this, but I could not find one.
I recently replaced my cabin air filter in my '12 PiP. When I went to put the little door back on, the clip that holds the door into place on the left (not the "click" side), broke right off of the housing.
I have the piece, but not sure I can glue this back on with any success.
Do I have to take the whole dash apart to get the housing out to replace? It really is the smallest little plastic piece.
I used to replace my LS430 cabin air filter myself. Now I have a 2012 LS460, and they have made the hatch door in the glove box motorized. I know to open the hatch, it has something to do with depressing the Fan button on the dash. But I don't know exactly what to press, if car should be running, or ignition simply On but not running, etc. What is the exact procedure that opens the little hatch in the glove box so I can replace the filter ? (And my primary reason for wanting to bring it to dealer is simply that it took me 5 minutes to do it on my LS430, vs MUCH longer to go to my dealer.)
View 10 RepliesI've got a coolant leak on the drivers side of the radiator. I don't drive the vehicle that much because I use it primarily for towing in the good weather seasons. I drive it once a week unless we have snow than I drive it more.
I have seen small amounts of coolant (yellow/gold) in the snow when parked. It does not appear to be very much, but it does concern me.
Anyway, here is a link to some pictures : [URL]....
Where to look for this leak. I looked from the bottom and the top (without access to a lift) and I couldn't see anything revealing.
Need to know if my 2006 F150 has a cabin filter and where will I locate it ?
View 2 RepliesWhere the cabin air filter is located on my 97 Ranger. I purchased the truck used one year ago and would like to check or change if necessary.
View 2 RepliesHow can I tell if my truck has a cabin filter and where would it be located? I looked through the OM but it was little to no luck....
View 3 RepliesI've never done it, not even sure where it is located.
View 11 RepliesWhere exactly the cabin air filter is located and how to replace it? I bought a filter, It came with an instruction sheet that says the filter is in the passenger side foot well. I pulled off the cover under the dash and the cover on the side of the dash, no filter.
The top of the inside of the glove compartment has an allen wrench on the top of the compartment, (what is that for?) It looks like there are some phillip screws on the top inside of the glove compartment, but I thought I'd seek advice before I tore the entire car apart!
So, I just dropped a bit more money that I wanted to for an oil change at a drive-through place. The tech offered to replace my dirt cabin air filter. I figured that I could do it myself for much less (or even just tap the dirt out of my current one). How to access the filter, and how easy or difficult the process is?
View 17 RepliesI have already seen the post which shows a diagram from the B5. Exactly where the access is. In my car I open the glove box and there is another pull down compartment that holds the manual. Does this compartment need to be removed? If it does how do you do it. I dont see anything that looks like the diagram given.

View 3 RepliesI had a surprise this morning when I attempted to put in a new Cabin Air Filter. These filters look square at first glance, but are actually rectangular -- about 7-3/4" x 8-3/8" or so.
The issue is that the pleats on the one that came with the car run in a different direction than the one I purchased from my local Toyota dealer.
While the obvious enough solution would be to simply rotate the new filter 90* before putting it into the plastic carrier, this is impossible since the plastic carrier has a divider that runs parallel to the pleats.
I'm attempting to change the A/C cabin filter on my 2013 LS. I've followed the instructions explicitly including setting the A/C function to recirculate mode.
However, when I get to removing the filter case I press on the 2 tabs as indicated in the instructions and try as I might the case doesn't move.
Am I missing something? Is there a specific knack to this?
Looking for pics of how to change the cabin filter?
