View 5 RepliesTrying methods found elsewhere on this site not working anymore. No matter how much wd-40 and door slamming I do, I am getting the 4 short honks on lock and 2 on unlock. No door ajar light and interior lights go off as normal so it doesn't seem to be door open sensor.
View 9 Repliesi just picked up an '07 Camry XLE and every time I start the car (push start button) the horn gives me 3 quick honks. Same happens with the remote start. How to turn that off? Besides just not starting the car
View 1 Replies2004 Explorer 4WD XLT 4.0 6cyl - Mileage is 117,000 - Check Engine Light came on - Pulled the code of PO193. Had the Fuel Pressure Sensor changed, Plugs and wires and check engine light is still on after being re-set several times? Car is stalling at times when going from park to drive - It seems to idle ok in park but, when in drive at a red light, the tac will bounce a little and it seems like it's not getting enough fuel and will stall out at anytime. Is there a fuel filer that can be changed? Should I have the fuel injection checked and cleaned along with a fuel filter. Seems to be getting poor gas mileage.

When I turn off the ignition, the drivers door lock unlocks or pushes the arm through the door for up to 30-60 seconds over and over again. I would say like 10 times and it is annoying as hell.
Is the only part in the door that controls this the actuator or is there something else that can be doing this?
I had been having battery issues with my 97 ford f150 4.6 liter for the longest time, thought i had a short under dash, i pulled entire dash out, disconnecting bat first of course, and inspected all wiring harness connections and fixing my issues and putting it all back together. now with new bat and all put back together i am now getting the airbag light flashing 5 times then 2 times (error code 52) i know it has some thing to do with power failure or backup battery, but now with the new battery in i cant seem to get it to reset. How to do this?

Sometimes I unlock my car and it beeps a couple times, sometimes it beeps more.
What do the various beeps mean?
Six year old car, 115k on the clock. Starting last week, I've been unable to unlock the doors on the es. Whether it's via the key fob or the sensors on the door handles. I've noticed the behaviour in the morning when it's cold, so I'm assuming it's mechanical. When the weather warms up, everything seems to work again. I've done some research here and while nothing turned up for our es's, I think it might be the actuators for the locks based on responses I've seen from the is and gs owners.
I guess the weird part for me is that all locks but the driver door lock seem to have failed - all at the same time. I can lock, but not unlock. Trying to figure if there's singe common point of failure which would cause three failures simultaneously. Perhaps it's just coincidence? I'm fully prepared to remove the panels and tackle this project.
I've been having an issue with my hatch not opening the first several times I press the unlock button on the remote. For reference it's the car door unlock button I'm pressing, not the hatch one as that one has never done anything when I've pressed it.
I thought it was due to the faulty rear view camera I had installed (the emblem pops out) but I just got a new one installed 2 days ago and it's doing the same thing. It's gotten so bad I've had to go open the drivers door and press unlock from inside there to get it open.
I'm wondering if there is a problem with the latch getting stuck or something. I've never had it not close all the way or anything like that which I hear is more common than the issue I'm having. I will take a pic of the pin in the trunk that I'm talking about.
I forgot something my battery went dead and it got jumped (left lights on) and now i am getting the 4x4h light blinking it blinks 10 times and then stops and after about a min or so it blinks 10 times again and i am also getting a low oil message on the message center all this started after the battery went dead?
View 4 RepliesRecently, my Explorer will sound like a cessna first thing in the morning, and then at random times through out the day. Then, the other day, the temp spiked on my wife. She pulled over, and let it sit for a bit, started it back up, and haven't had a problem since with temp. We only hear the sound on acceleration, and I have noticed that my F250 does it sometimes also, but not to the same extent. Is this normal, or a sign that the fan clutch is bad?

Diagnostic Flash Code Information
NOTE: The following flash codes 1 through 16 are
On-Board Diagnostic
(OBD) codes generated by the control module. If a system fault is detected, the control module will "flash out" the corresponding fault code on the electronic four-wheel drive Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) on the instrument panel. Also, notice that all the codes that can be generated pertain only to the speed sensors, the clutch coil and clutch with the exception of the first flash code.
The electronic four-wheel drive system also includes the brake switch input, Park/Neutral Position (PNP) switch input, one power and two ground lines, along with the E-4WD MIL. The following pinpoint tests include testing on every electronic four-wheel drive circuit and not just those covered by the flash codes.

Regeneration (Recovery) of Flash Codes
If the ignition is turned OFF and the code is lost, the ignition will have to be turned ON again to regenerate codes 1 through 8, if the condition or conditions still exist. To regenerate codes 9 through 16, the vehicle must be driven again.
How accurate is this information? also where can i find a replacement clutch connector? New to fords so I am not sure where to get parts.
When putting vehicle into park, every so often it will barely enage or not at all. Can hear a clanking noise when rolling back or forward. Trans position sensor?
View 1 RepliesMy 2002 explorer, 4.0l engine. My 4x4 light on the dash blinks 10 times and I've found that sometimes the 4 wheel drive locks in. When i pull into a parking space on dry road I can feel the front of the truck Jerking when trying to park. I hit the 4x4 auto button on the dash a couple of times and the 4 x 4 will disengage. While driving on dry road yesterday the 4x4 light started blinking and I felt the 4x4 slam in. The 4x4 light still blinks and I can't disengage the 4 x 4 this time. The truck has 140,000 miles on it. I'm thinking its the 4x4 control module but I'm not sure.
View 1 RepliesI tried to start my car with the remote key by pressing the unlock button 3 times and hold on it on the third time. It does not work at all. What is the problem?
View 4 RepliesI have a 1998 Explorer XLT with the 4.0 sohc engine.
Recently the truck started being difficult to start and takes a few times of cranking to get it going. Once running, it idles and drives fine on city streets and freeways. When trying to start it turns over fine but doesn't start. After a few times of that, it will finally start. Sometimes it will sputter out an die but then it will start right away and be fine.
It never starts right away when cold and when hot or after short trips its intermittent...Sometimes it will start right up...others it takes a time or two of cranking. I just replaced the fuel filter and it did not work. I am thinking the fuel pump but since its in the tank, I am hoping its not that.
I have 1997 ford explorer my 4x4 lights on dash flashing 5-6 times and four wheel drive kicks in and binds when I turn wheel left or right and engages while going straight . Happens on occasion put its happen more often. How to disconnect the 4-wheel drive from engaging.
View 1 RepliesMy 07 Camry SE just started doing this. I turn off the vehicle. Lock the car with the remote. After a few minutes, the car beeps 3 times. I've checked all the doors, windows, lights. Everything is closed or off. It keeps beeping 3 times after every few minutes. This Camry does not use a smart key.
View 2 RepliesEver since I installed my L.e.d. lights in my doors the automatic door lock once moving keep locking like 3 times. I don't know why this would happen I didn't touch anything I shouldn't have. Why this would be happening.
View 11 RepliesI have a 98 explorer with the keypad on the door. For some reason the lock does not want to unlock with the key. I know it is the right key and they keypad will unlock the door but I am looking to fix the lock just incase for some reason the keypad decides to stop working.
View 6 RepliesI have a 2007 SF SE that seems to be having multiple electrical problems. In summary, the following are happening irregularly:
1) rear passenger door will not lock with the power lock button
2) front driver door will not lock with the power lock button
3) A/C turns on by itself at random times
4) Power gas latch release will not work
As I said before, these problems happen randomly and all the things listed above will work on occasions. I have not taken any steps to troubleshoot other than looked at the relays in the engine bay which seemed to be fine.
I know that some other posts mentioned the lock actuators for the lock problems. However, I think there might be an electrical problem since all the problems seem to be related. The car is not under warranty anymore.
