4.0 v6 A/c works great at first. Then after a while stops blowing out the center dash vents. What to check? Still blows cold out the vents by each front door...
View 2 Replies2002 - 7.3 lariat, my a/c stays on max because of the recirculating effect. When I get in the next morning during summer of course, my dash vents take a few seconds to begin, default defrost till that time passes. Sure I know about leaks and redone all that to make my vacuum hubs work correctly. It didn't begin till later not right after that overhaul.

View 6 RepliesI have a 99 explorer that stops blowing air when I get on the gas or climbing a hill. The motor is still blowing but it stops air coming out the vents. What could be causing this? It works fine other than that.
View 3 RepliesI did a 9 hour drive last week and partway thru the trip the AC stops blowing out of the vents. No combination of punching buttons on the AC system solved the problem, although manually increasing the fan speed caused something behind the glove box to make a LOUD sound of rushing air (still nothing out of vents though). Finally I turned off the system completely for over an hour and then it magically started working again. I assume something in the system froze and had to thaw out. The exterior temp was low (mid-60s) but it was raining and the AC was keeping the windows un-fogged.
View 2 RepliesI recently purchased a 2010 Toyota Corolla. Over all good car and in pretty decent shape. The Only only issue I've found with it is the two center air vents are not blowing, nor does the a/c knob change the air flow. For example regardless of what air setting I have it on it's always the two foot vents and the outer door vents blowing. Granted the air temp is fine. It responds to whatever temp I want it and it gets plenty cold.
View 2 Replies2014 Elantra GT SE tech package. This issue is intermittent so I am reluctant to take it to the dealer as they will just say there is nothing wrong if they cannot replicate the issue.
The problem I have is the ventilation inside the car stops blowing air randomly. I could be driving for 1/2 hour, 1 hour, 3 hours, and all of the sudden the amount of air blowing out of the vents drops down to almost nothing. I can still hear the fan blowing away at what sounds like full power, but air is just barely trickling out of the vents. Really sucks on hot days! This is going to be a bigger issue once winter comes.
Is it true that on auto setting there is no air blowing out of the center vents? It happened to me this morning with my 2016 GTI.
View 2 RepliesThe ac on my 97 chevy k1500 siverado works for about an hour then for no reason the air stops blowing thru the dash vents. The motor continues to run but will not blow thru the vents. At the same time my blower motor will slow down to the lower speed position even when I have it on high. But, if I shout off the ac for a view moments the air will start to come back up to speed and will begin to blow thru the dash vents again. I have replace all the blend doors excep the one for the cab recirculation. Replace the motor relay swith, the motor thermostat, and the dash mounted control module. The heater system seems to work fine.
View 10 RepliesI've got a 1995 Buick LeSabre that has a curious problem with the air conditioner. The AC blows good and cold, but when I accelerate the air stops blowing from the vents. I can still hear the fan running, so it's like the air is being redirected somewhere. Now, once I get up to speed after accelerating, if I let off the accelerator for a second, the AC resumes blowing normally.
View 5 RepliesOK.. 2005 F150 Lariat. Air conditioner worked on the way to work, went to drive home, air not blowing out the 4 main dash vents. Blows cold out the feet, and redirect SEEMS to be working, just not blowing at all out the main vents in the dash?
Even if you adjust the temp to where it should be blowing warm/hot air, it will not blow out the main vents.
AC needed regassing on my phaeton, lasted over a year before another regas, then 3 months and its blowing warm again
my symptoms:
1)AC stops blowing cold a few months after AC recharge
2)When it was blowing cold most cold was through only one vent (the one to the left of the steering wheel), whilst it was getting weaker (vlowing warmer) the one vent was blowing cold rest were all blowing warm
3)Slight condensation settling in center of windscreen, especially after rain
4)Something rattly rolls across the inside dash on occasion when turning sharply!

I imagine the compressor has a leak. Euro Car Parts will fit and gave the part number as 3D0 820 803T. I've got it booked into the local dealership but am worried about a ridiculous bill.
There's a couple of mechanics I could use locally I suppose but its a very rare care with a very complicated AC system I hear. Especially on the part numbers and where to get a cheap compressor (if indeed that is the problem) I've got the shareware version of VCDS so cant do complicated stuff I've read about basic settings for HVAC and I've run that didn't work with the V71 motor code.
Heat is blowing through my dash vents in front of the windshield with the controls OFF!
View 14 RepliesMy 2001 F250SD 5.4L is doing something odd. When I have the A/C on and accelerate, it shifts from blowing out cold air from dash vents and goes to blowing lukewarm air out from the defrost vents on top. As soon as I decelerate or tap the brake pedal, it switches back to the dash vents and blows cold again. Even minor acceleration switches the air from blowing out the dash vents to blowing out the defroster vents.

I found 3 blown fuses that I have replaced, however the only lights that don't work is the dash lights. I replaced the headlight switch and the dash lights are still not working?

Where the vacuum line fails? I have ESOF 4x4 and that is still working. I think there may be a correlation between engine vacuum and my vents: at cruising or idle the vents work ok (not perfect) and under acceleration (less vacuum) the dash vents stop blowing.
I thought that the blend doors had their own vacuum pump, so I do not know why things change at different amount of throttle?
The town car will not switch its blower position from dash down to the vents or the floor. AC/Heat both work and the speed is still adjustable.

Here is the problem: All of a sudden the two middle vents in the dash stopped blowing. I have played with the settings - on, off, all the way hot, all the way cold - nothing from the two mid vents. The left and right vent blow with no problem. There is also cold air coming from the vent near the windshield - just the two middle dash vents are not functioning.
What I have done so far: I had it looked at by a mechanic who I trust. He said there is a small motor (he called it a servo motor) that controls that middle vents (open/close). He said that had gone bad. He manipulated it so that the air blows out of the vents now and said not to change any settings until I am ready to replace the part.
I just replaced the blend door actuator. But now when I am driving its blowing cold air thru the dash vents one minute then super hot air the next. Also I had a problem installing the actuator over the keyed shaft on the housing...

View 4 Replies2001 F150 5.4 4wd - AC not working but when I turn the temperature dial to the blue side and turn on the fan, super hot air comes out of the vents or wherever I direct the fan to blow (Floor, defrost, etc) I know it shouldn't blow ice cold especially since my AC doesn't work but.....shouldn't I feel a temp change coming from the vents when I move temp dial from the red area to the blue? It's max heat wherever I have it set.
