2003 Ford Explorer passenger front window will not close. The window went down and will not go up. Door locks on passenger front side work. When window button is pressed to open, light on button goes out.
No sound when button pushed. All other windows and power work. Recently, I have had to have engine on to open/close same window. I just want the window up,I can live with not opening window.
I had an interesting ride home tonight. I accidentally lowered my front passenger window a little bit and when I tried to raise it I just got a clicking noise. So I drove along hitting the button, hoping the window would close, but it wouldn't. Then, the dash lights and head lights started pulsating/flickering. The engine power wasn't affected and the battery gauge wasn't moving. My vehicle is a 2002 Chevy Trailblazer with 173,0000 miles on it. Replaced the battery a few years back and have had no other electrical problems.

View 11 RepliesMy son has an '03 Explorer. The passenger side window will not go down. We took the panel off the door and used a volt meter to check to see if voltage was coming from the switch to the motor. Both the up and down side of the motor pigtail was getting fire from both the driver side switch and the passenger side switch. We bought a used window assembly (cables, motor, etc) and tried the switches. The switch worked until the window was fully extended to the up/closed position, then would not go down...just like the one in the door. Took the motor off the window assembly (the original one still in the door) and tried the switch and it works fine...both up and down. There seems to be a limit switch or something that knows when something has over extended.
View 3 RepliesI'm buying a 2003 Ford Explorer, XLS Sport Utility 4D. She's got 150k miles on an automatic transmission (pretty sure this model only came in auto anyhow).I'm mostly concerned about the rear axle, as the title prompted. The rear wheel seems awfully close to the front of the wheel well. Is this normal? I google searched some images of this model and seems to be the norm in some cases, and in other cases not.
Attached is a photo of the concerning placement. Is the rear axle bent? Is this suggesting that the rear end is on it's way to crapping itself?
I have a 2003 f250 ext cab LB 6.0l diesel with 260,500 miles. So last week I had rolled both front windows down and hit the road to work 45min trip and so I got a call and rolled them up to talk after the call was over I rolled them down. So when I got to work I rolled them up and at night I try to roll them both down to let out the heat and only my driver side went down so I hit the pass.side switch nothing I hit the driver side for the pass. And the light in the switch for the window on the pass side door went out.and didn't go down.
So now I tried up and you can hear the motor trying to go up but only if you use the pass.side switch the driver side does nothing up..... So I replaced both switches as I though rain and snow and dirt got into them and killed them nothing changed I checked for power to the motor and it has 12.2v on the up and when it switches wires to spin the motor to go down I only get 4-6v on both wires. So I checked the door jams for broken wires nothing and I can use my power prob to roll the window up and down so I think the motor is ok on the window..
We just upgraded our Prius from Gen 3 to Gen 3....a 2012. Great ride, just drove it from SoCal on a Sierra Mtns road trip, a little hiking and snowboarding for our spring break. What we failed to notice upon purchase was a passenger door whose controls want work! The drivers door can lock the car and operate the passenger window and lock. However, the passenger door switch won't open or close the window, nor will it lock the door. All other doors and locks work normally.

View 1 RepliesI have a 2001 Ford Explorer Sport, and to remove the rear passenger window. The car is a two door, and the passenger windows are the smaller "flap" out style. I was able to remove the two torx screws on the hinge itself, but the glass portion is held in some sort of bracket, and I'm having trouble removing that.
View 3 RepliesI have a 2010 Santa Fe. The passenger front door does not close well. It needs a very firm push to latch completely. Regular push and it only catches first click and bounces partially open. I loosened the catch on the jamb, but it seems this is not adjustable.
View 2 RepliesReplaced the battery on my 07 the other day, and subsequently discovered my passenger side power window would not open or close from driver side control switch. Initially thought the worse of course, that I needed a new motor for the passenger side window. Then I tried the passenger side window switch and the window worked fine.
So now, I think that the switch for the passenger side window (on the driver's side) is bad, and I will need to replace the whole switch control module. Did a search and found the root cause and solution to the problem. Apparently, after replacing a battery, I needed to RESET the passenger side switch from the passenger side, by HOLDING the switch approx. 3 seconds after raising and lowering the window two times.
I’ve noticed that when I close my C4 passenger front door it makes a chinsey hollow twanging noise. However my driver front door makes a nice high quality and solid thunk.
View 9 RepliesI have a 2003 ford explorer and the back hatch window exploded on my son when he closed it. Glass shattered everywhere even on him. I was told there was a recall on this and ford has stated they were replaced but previous owner says they didn't have replaced. How do I know the difference in the recall hinges and new ones? If the hinges were replaced why would the window shatter like this?

View 2 RepliesI have a 96 explorer 4x4 that i just bought and it has wheel shake. It also has a slight noise coming from pass front. So i jack it up and there is zero wheel play. I spin the wheel and it spins kinda freely until about 3/4 away around then it has some resistance to stop the wheel. Im thinking that could maybe a rotor a lil warped but not sure. Same wheel there are wires showing on the inside. Now i try the driver side and i cannot spin that wheel it has resistance all the time. So could this be hub or maybe just bad tire?
View 12 RepliesFixing issues with my truck. I just ordered some latex surgical tubing and am getting ready to fix the rattling noise in my rear door by using the Epic's Door Seal Mod. Hopefully this will take care of that issue.
One more annoying noise though. Has there been any fixes to the buzzing window noise that is coming from the front passenger side. If the wind is blowing right and I'm running over 50mph, at times get a loud buzzing noise and really bugs me. Something is vibrating and at first i thought i had a speaker going out but found out that wasn't it.
I've called my dealer and informed them of this and asked if they've heard of this but of course they haven't and this usually means the won't do anything besides look for recalls or something. I have the noise recorded and scheduled an appointment with my Ford Dealer but again, they won't do anything most likely.
I just purchased a 2001 F-150 XLT and while driving it back to town my brother rolled down the window and now it wont go back up! The drivers side works fine, but the passenger side wont roll up using either side of the switches. I know it isnt the motor because neither side would work. What it might be or how I could fix it?

View 4 RepliesWhen I startup my Passat, sometimes the passenger front window will go down automatically, then neither driver/passenger window switch will bring it up. Only goes up if I lock car from outside with key. Tried to (temporarily) remove fuse for power windows so I can drive to work (it's cold), removed fuse, windows did not operate, but car would not start.
View 2 RepliesHave a 05 Explorer and every time it rains, water gets in and soaks the front passenger side floor. It only happens after it rains and happens even if it is not driven. I am pretty sure there is a drain line plugged up someplace from the cowl, just not sure where it is. The toe kick seems to stay dry but the floor gets soaked.
View 4 RepliesJust picked up a 1988 brick nose F-150 4x4, 4.9, 5 speed, manual windows and locks, A/C, power steering. Was a southern truck for most of its life so no REAL rust, just some "surface drust". Lots of character where the paint has worn off. Trying to fix some of the small problems and any mechanical problems I can find.
The problem I'm looking to fix is the drivers side vent window. I found that the lower mounting bracket was broke loose from the vertical track that guides the door widow and holds the vent. I welded the small bracket back on in its original location, but, when it is closed and locked, the front of the vent is still open by about 1/8" in the front. I'm was thinking the lower pivot was bent to the inside, but after looking it over it appears fine. I cant see where the problem is. If I push the front inside corner to force it to close, the rear lock ends up with a 1/4"-3/8" gap.
I did also find under the vent window (when I pulled it) the metal bridge connecting the outside skin of the door to the inside was cracked almost to the point of a complete separation. That will get welded tomorrow.
