How to get into that bundle of wires going between the drivers door and body for a 2002 Sport Trac? I have a break in the wire that feeds 12v to the passenger windows. If I push the bundle backward the windows work. The flexible rubber jacket goes into a plastic housing and I'm not sure if I need to pull off the door panel and un-hook or unscrew it. Is there a connector inside that plastic thing?
View 2 RepliesOk, about a month ago my drivers door power window just ceased to work. (Sadly in the lowered position) I pulled the panel off, and examined the switch housing. By removing the terminals from a window that worked, and putting them in the drivers terminal, I determined that the regulator/motor assembly was bad. Fast forward to today, after wrestling with some issues, the NEW regulator/motor are installed. But here's the kicker, NO CHANGE!!! Still wont work!!! The fuse/CB is good, all other windows work. The switch test good when voltmeter applied...so now I'm stumped.
Its a 1994 explorer...
I have a Sport trac and its killing me. The windows, radio, wipers and 4x4 does not work. I have checked all of the fuses and even replaced the GEM module and they are still not working.

View 1 RepliesI bought a 2004 Explorer a couple of years ago and at the time some ot the windows only work some of the time. Then the drivers side fron and rear passenger window stopped working. Now all but the front passenger side stopped working. I've changed the master switch and no change. I know that it is probably a broken wire between the drivers side door and cab but can't understand how the front passenger side would still work if that was the case. If it wasn't grounded or if a wire was broken wouldn't all of the windows stop working? Also the rear passenger power door lock has all of a sudden stopped.....
View 14 RepliesJust purchased my first Explorer. It's a 2003 Explorer XLS. Only problem with it is that both rear door Windows don't work. The dealership where I purchased the vehicle immediately threw a new drivers side door switch in it to no avail. Now they want to throw two new window regulators in it. Before they do that though I am going to do some checking to see if they are getting power. Both front Windows work just fine.

View 6 RepliesI got an 02 explorer xlt with the manual heater control and I've noticed now that it's getting colder it seems like my windshield and side windows are taking forever to clear up when they are foggy. When I put my hand up by the window or the vents for the driver/passenger side windows there's barely any air movement, and that is even when the blower is on the maximum level.
Another thing I've noticed is if I set it to floor only, it blows out the defrost. Same for the defrost only, I can feel some air blowing onto my feet. So what to look for when I pull this into a garage and start to looking around. I also changed the coolant and put in a new thermostat about a month ago, if that's of any importance.
2009 Prius all windows stopped working except the drivers window.I have checked fuses,window locks,etc...I heard that the problem is the "bcm" which is located under the drivers seat. One window was half way down when it stopped working so I took the door panel off and ran wires from my laptop power supply and ran it up. I am wondering if i could run a wire from the battery with the correct fuse on it to each window and bypass this '"bcm" thing altogether.
View 8 RepliesIt's my turn, while out site seeing my back seat power window don't work , the control from drivers seat or from the back seat door control, I popped both covers on the control switch and both are firmly plugged in, I don't have my meter with me to see if power is running back to the switch , this morning I'll try to switch out the two back seat controls to see if I can get at least that window to go down , 04 350 , would there be a fuse for each or is it in the switch in the door that the harness plugs into , that's the only window that won't go down...
View 8 RepliesI haven't been on for a while but new issue my AC won't work the compressor is not seized it just wont come on checked all the fuses and tried to check the wiring but it is so short then it go's into the main wiring harness is there a way to see if it is the compressor or not some way to test it? It is on my 2002 explorer 4.0l vin "E" eddie bower.....

View 1 RepliesMy locks on the driver's door do not work when the vehicle is parked. The locks work find from the other doors, the keypad and the remote. Also door ajar light comes on. When the vehicle is moving the locks work fine.
I replace the lock switch, but it didn't make any difference. I loosen the three screws holding the mechanish sprayed with lots to WD40 and moved the mechanism around a little, it worked a couple of times, but then back to nothing.
Thinking about replacing the door ajar switch, but not sure of the relationship to the lock.
Replaced the door lock switch and all the other door lock switches in the car work, as does the one on the keyfob. How to figure out what's going on?

View 3 RepliesI have a friend who has a 2003 Explorer and all his windows stopped working.
I checked all the fuses under dash and hood and found that none of them were shorted, even swapped my window circuit breaker off of my Ex and still could not get them to work. I took a test light to all the power wires in the door and noticed that he wasn't getting positive power and that he had negative to the switches. I ran a jumper wire from the battery and could get the windows to work. I removed the door panel and traced the wire all the way through the rubber boot at the door jam but could not get any juice. The circuit relay has power to it but don't know where else to look!
What else should I look for? Is there another place that he might've lost contact or another fuse/switch somewhere that I didn't see. Looking for a wire diagram for the power windows that would also kinda trace faults.
White 1997 Explorer XLT 4 door 4x4 4.0 sohc 220,000 miles. The power windows and locks don't work. I've tried all of them in the whole car and nothing. Replaced all fuses at the inside panel and replaced all fuses and relays under the hood. Replaced master control switch on the drivers side and still nothing.
View 1 Replies08 RX 350. Just changed battery. New Bosch battery. Issue: After battery change, passenger windows don't work from the driver's master window switch cluster. I'm assuming this is the result of some sort of memory being wiped out during the battery change. Or perhaps a blown fuse during power up while connecting the new battery.
