'99 Explorer. I adjusted the hinge pins several times and have to really slam the tail gate several times before the gate closes and the interior light goes out. How to make it easier?

View 1 Replies2016 F-350 Lariat Ultimate with Tail Gate Step: After returning the step inside the tail gate and closing the tail gate, the cap does not sit evenly across the top of the tail gate. As the gate locks, the cap "pops up" on the right side and correspondingly moves down on the left side. Truck was purchased on 11-04-2015 and this defect was not noticed during walk around.
View 9 RepliesI have a 2003 2wd F250 with the 7.3l. I replaced the stock tail gate with an aftermarket 5th wheel tailgate. Seems to work good but a couple of times the bottom of the tail gate where the hinge connects pops out when on dirt roads. I know it is probably from the shaking and rattling that the road causes but any way to prevent that from happening? I know most will say stay off the dirt roads but until they pave the road to the dunes camping spot I'm stuck with going down it.

View 9 RepliesI have a 2003 F150 4x4 5.4 ex cab. The last few months, the back of my truck has been bouncing bad. Speed doesn't matter, every bump will make the back end bounce like crazy, heck even dropping or closing the tail gate will make it bounce. I've replaced the shocks at all 4 corners, rear shocks have been replaced with 3 different sets trying to rule out bad shocks out of the box, new leaf springs and shackles and hangers look good. I've checked the cab mounts, checked for cracks in the frame or anything loose. It has me stumped.

I need to get some 4x8 sheets of dry-wall and instead of leaving the tail gate down i'd rather have it up and support the pieces, but at 50-60 pounds a sheet I'm somewhat concerned about how many sheets the tail gate can support without causing issues.
The back gate of my blazer won't open, nor will my window close. It seems like the lock won't unlock. But Other than that, I'm stumped.
View 6 RepliesMy girlfriend has a 99 explorer Eddie bower the dash lights and tail lights sometimes go out last time I checked the fuses they were fine will check again she does home health care so we drive a lot the last owner had a system in it he took it out when she bought it he just unhooked the box the wire we ran hidden but the dash around the gauge cluster does not fit right so it has been off I'm desperate to keep her safe.
View 1 RepliesI just purchased a 2006 E-350 15 passenger van. ~85000 miles. As soon as any door (except the very back door) opens, the dome light comes on, as expected. However, when you close the door, the light doesn't go off. There are two ways I've found to make the light go off:
1. Reach a speed of 10mph
2. Wait several minutes (i haven't timed it yet, maybe 10 min?) without opening a door
I've read that the keyless entry remote can control this, but this van isn't equipped with keyless entry. There must be some factory setting that can be adjusted. Also, any thoughts on adding an aux jack to the stock AM/FM/CD stereo? Maybe I should bite the bullet and install an after-market deck?
2003 Ford Explorer passenger front window will not close. The window went down and will not go up. Door locks on passenger front side work. When window button is pressed to open, light on button goes out.
No sound when button pushed. All other windows and power work. Recently, I have had to have engine on to open/close same window. I just want the window up,I can live with not opening window.
This morning was freezing outside, went to work , unlock the car turn it on get in close. The door and slam!! Slam! Slam ! It won't closed! I had to drive with one hand on wheel other holding the door, after that notice when I lock the car from inside the door stay almost closed like it kind of locked but still open the just push it in trying to closed it and then it lock..

Obviously when i try to take it to the dealer it works fine. I was able to capture a video on my phone explaining and showing whats happening...
View 14 RepliesI took the T-REG to a dealer today because I noticed the drivers door (more precisely the bottom corner towards the rear) doesn't close well, and the vehicle itself pulls to the right. I got a call back from the service manager stating that the door is actually bent!!! He states that the reason the vehicle pulls might be due to the bend as well!!! He advised me to call the dealer I actually bought it from and bring this up with them!!! I bought it with 103 miles it now has 203 (the extra miles are actually to just bring it to my house and drive it to the dealership)What should I do!!! Is the door actually repairable; the service manager states it is impossible to fix it because how it is made and installed!!

View 4 RepliesI havea burned out turn signal bulb. I am not sure how to change it. Do I remove he panels inside or can it be reached from below, outside? . it is still cold out so laying on he ground for an hour is not my first choice. I want to get it done quick.
View 3 RepliesI opened up my hood and now it doesn't close... it seems like the latch isn't locking into place and holding the hood down. I do a lot of car work myself, but after countless hours of trying to figure out why my latch isn't locking shut, I give up. I am planning to take it to a local dealer after I schedule an appointment, but that means that I can't drive for a few days... maybe weeks if they are booked... I don't want the hood to pop up on the highway or anything.
View 24 RepliesI understand how the waste gate is supposed to work at high rpms / boost.
I believe that as long as I keep the max boost down, that I can run with the waste gate plugged in order to goose the power a little in the 2000-28000 RPM range. Since the truck is stock and there's no intention of running higher RPMs, it seems like plugging the waste gate is a good idea. I just want to make sure that I'm not missing something.
It appears that the wast gate also opens when at idle and possibly when you let off the throttle. Are these important functions of the waste gate as well?

I have a 2001 7.3 that recently had a throttle position sensor issue I replaced the sensor 4 days ago and my truck ran like new. Until last night I shut my truck off and went to start it up a few seconds later and it would crank continually but wouldn't turn over so I went for the obvious and replaced the cam sensor but that didn't change anything. My scanner is throwing a waste gate fail code.
View 1 RepliesPassengers side tail light doesn't react when braking, using hazards or blinker, what do I replace? The bulb is lit, but doesn't blink or brighten when the brakes are applied. As of right now I'm replacing the bulb socket seeing as when I replaced the bulb the contacts were covered in a brown crust, is there something else I should be looking at?
