I just pulled error code B1944 from my 96 Explorer. It says
Crash sensor ground
Ckt 1, High res/open
I found the airbag diagnostic module (in passenger cowl area) and checked for loosed wire, nothing found. Where the loose ground wire is located? I checked under the seat (didn't do a through job, but looked).
I have a 97 Ford Explorer and the air bag indicator started to flash a code 45. What is this code and what do I need to do to clear this problem?

View 12 RepliesI pulled the wrong fuse, and now my air bag light is flashing a 5 2 pattern, and then stays on continuously.
it's a 96 OBD II - so I don't think I can do the "short the 2 pin gray connector" trick, or can I?
I pulled the right kick plate, and see the AIR BAG module, etc the fuel inheria switch mounted on the firewall, but no sign of that 2 prong plug....
so, how does one reset or clear this 52 code - I know that it was a result of me pulling that fuse, as the light was perfect before, and no issues.
I googled this topic, and still can't seemed to find this... will I need to take it to a dealer to have them flash the Air Bag Code?
Got an air bag code 41. Comes on and flashes the code a number of times, then goes off for the rest of the ride. It is a 96 Arerostar, XLT, 4LV6. From what I read it is a short someplace. Where are the crash sensors and how do you check them for "shorts"? I don't understand much about the whole system.

The light flashes twice, pause, then once, so I think this is error code 21? I cannot find anything on what this code is and how to fix it. I disconnected battery for an hour and now I get 4 flashes, pause, 6 flashes, 46 error.

It has only started doing this since last night when I replaced my factory tape deck with a factory Cd player from a 2002 F-150.

I have a 2008 Sports Trac, with a 4.0 SOHC engine ... 165k miles. Last week my check engine (CE) light came on and the code is P0401 ... too little flow on the EGR system. I first tried cleaning the existing valve - but CE light still came on. So I replaced the old EGR valve, cleaned the SS tube from the exhaust manifold back to the EGR valve and the CE light is still on. I have not driven the truck since I replaced with the new valve ... only fired her up in the garage. Is this something that could possibly clear up given a couple of miles?
View 6 RepliesIs the code model AND year specific? I have a 2004 Explorer. Can clear this up? I already cleaned the yellow connectors under both seats and I still have the LFC. I have started the truck 3 times since then and cycled the key about 6 times to see if it would clear. I got a rejection sticker today and need to fix it ASAP.
View 14 RepliesMy 1996 Ranger runs ok but my check engine has come on. Using a scanner tool, indicates my cat monitor wont go to ready state and my error code is P0141. According to my research it indicates one of my 02 sensors. How to determine if its the one before or after the cat converter? About 6 months ago I had an exhaust leak repaired around my converter so I know I cant return it under warranty . If its the rear sensor , It looks fairly easy to replace but the front sensor looks a bit cramped.

View 1 RepliesI have a '97 XLT, 5.0 and the error code for the O2 sensors has popped up, when checking it shows there isn't voltage for the heater circuits. I see there are 3 different heater circuits, 1ea for the left & right O2 sensors and a common one for the catalytic converter O2 sensors, so I ordered another PCM.
View 14 RepliesThe other day, my Explorer gave a hard jerk while changing into 2 (maybe 3rd?) gear. Never happened before. I was under 20 MPH & had just stared it. (My speedometer works as do all the dials.) My Check Engine light came on & when I had the code pulled it read quote "P0715."Transmission Speed Sensor circuit condition. Vehicle speed above 15 MPH while transmission output shaft speed below 60 RPM. Possible cause Failed transmission speed sensor or electrical problem"
I got a Transmission Speed Sensor, (which I haven't put in yet), and was told that this would solve the problem. My question is twofold: Is there ANY chance this is a false or misread code and the problem is something else? And could ANOTHER sensor attached to the transmission be the cause? (How many sensors are on the tranny?) All I've read about this problem, say's replacing the Transmission Speed Sensor is preceded by the SPEEDOMETER quitting, but mine works fine.
The truck is a 1997 Explorer 4x4, but I don't use 4x4. In fact I've driven it without the forward drive shaft ever since I had the BW4405 Transfer Case replaced.
I had been having battery issues with my 97 ford f150 4.6 liter for the longest time, thought i had a short under dash, i pulled entire dash out, disconnecting bat first of course, and inspected all wiring harness connections and fixing my issues and putting it all back together. now with new bat and all put back together i am now getting the airbag light flashing 5 times then 2 times (error code 52) i know it has some thing to do with power failure or backup battery, but now with the new battery in i cant seem to get it to reset. How to do this?
View 3 Replies1996 Ford Explorer on a small island with no mechanics. Vehicle does less than 100 miles per year, never over 20 mph. The check engine light came on and the code reader says it's a problem with the Camshaft Position Sensor. The vehicle runs fine, just as it did before the check engine light came on. I'm tempted to put some electrical tape over the check engine light and keep driving.
View 2 RepliesMy daughters 2000 explorer has a PO172 code, tune it up,Replaced filters plugs & wires and rear O2 sensors that were damaged. Has 65 psi on fuel rail. Can not find any vacuum leaks. Not sure maybe injectors are dirty.
Also I replaced MAF, now it idles, But it's a rough Idle,Gets worse in gear. She say's on cold start up she can smell a whiff of gas ..
So of course it has to happen 3 weeks after my warranty expires. My CEL comes on and I have it read and the result is P0440. I find out that my wife has a habit of topping off the gas tank and so I am thinking that she has probably ruined the charcoal canister. It is something easy to replace?
I have an 06 limited edition... Yes, she will not be topping off any gas tank anymore.
I have a 1996 Ford E-150 van that has a misfire. The plugs, wires, cap and rotor have been changed and I still have it. The error codes come up as cylinder 3. ( I was getting the same before I replaced everything.) Scanner also says lean on bank 1. It also says that the O2 sensor behind the cat is not doing much.

View 4 RepliesMy 2005 Mustang w/ 4.6L is giving a P0456 code and also won't let me fill it with gas completely. I think I've narrowed it down to the canister vent or purge valve. Looking for narrowing down which would cause the gas fill issue.
