Looking for the easiest route to get my video cable from a rear (aftermarket) flip down monitor back up to the head unit. The monitor flips down pretty much in line with the back rest of the 2nd row (for reference purposes). I am thinking to the side down the pillar and under the carpet might be the easiest.

PO, had a pioneer H/U installed, however the 4 rear speakers have no sound.
The rear of the radio seems to have everything plugged into it correctly.
My steering wheel controls work fine.
I'm guessing the rear volume/controller is canceling out the rear speakers???
If so what can I do to make the speakers play? I don't need the rear control to work.
I have a 2013 F250 that I am installing a amber warning beacon on. I need to be able to get the end of the electrical cable into the cab of the truck but it has a 12 volt lighter plug on the end that cannot come off. Is there a rubber plug somewhere in the cab that I can route the cable through?

Just bought a CTEK for the SC430 along with the 8ft extension cord. Car doesn't get much use during the snow/ice season.
How you did your install and routed the wiring? I would rather not keep the hood up during charging.
2002 F250 diesel ... I found these two plastic pieces yesterday on the floor near the 4X4 shifter. I noticed the other day when i step on the brake the rear view camera in the head unit comes on, so i am thinking they are either a part of the brake switch on the pedal assembly, or something to do with the shift tube.
View 2 RepliesJust having a little stereo work being done and noticed a wet floor under the insulation after removing the rear side panel covering the a/c unit. Is that normal? I read some folks have had to seal the fan box...is that most likely the issue?
View 2 RepliesSo here it is, who out there with a 2012 SCREW can tell me how their rear parking brake cable is routed around the axle? The reason I ask is mine is routed under the axle and that just seems like a really screwy design. I would think any time the rear suspension was unloaded it could have the potential to engage the parking brake by the axle pushing down on the cable. My father has a 2014 and his isn't routed that way. I've also looked at a lot of pictures on the internet and haven't found any photos that show the cable routed under either. Is something off on mine, or is mine routed correctly and I just have not found any pictures that show it routed the same as mine?

View 14 RepliesI have an 02 f150 xl, I'm taking the stock head unit out and replacing it with a Pioneer 1900. I didn't buy a connector I'm just splicing the wires together, I know I shouldn't do it that way but it's to late now, what my problem is, there are three ground wires coming from the truck and the new head unit only has one ground, I just looked wiring diagrams up for both head units and that got pretty much everything done, just there are two speaker ground wires that are black and green, and then a regular black ground wire, I'm not sure if I should connect them all together or cap them separately, because I connected everything up and the head unit wouldn't turn on...
View 2 Replies2005 f150 xlt supercrew. Battery dead overnight. New battery installed, and it was drained after a few days use, then an overnight sit. I hooked up my meter as required to check for an amp draw. 5.87a draw. Disconnected alternator, no change. Started pulling fuses. Fuse #107 Power Door Lock(BSM) pulled drops down to 1.04a. Radio power fuse pulled also, drops to .033a. I have had a problem with the 6 disc changer trying to load, read, eject etc so I will be changing out the head unit. I am stumped as to what to try for the 107 fuse though.
View 14 RepliesHave my new-to-me 2006 F250 and managed to wire up my back up camera, USB connectors, and run the wire for my microphone. My only hang-up is trying to get the wire to stay up under the headliner. I ran it across under the steering wheel, up the A-pillar, and out behind the headliner and I want to attach it on the side of the overhead console. I tried simply stuffing the cable between the roof and headliner but that didn't seem to work. Trying a non-permanent solution so not wanting to use glue or other adhesive in case I need to replace the mic someday. Can successfully make mic cord stay underneath the headliner?
View 1 RepliesI just installed a new Pioneer head unit in my 2002 Excursion. Everything works great except it doesn't work on accessory power. I used a harness to harness hook up but I basically just connected like colored wires. When done I had three extra wires coming from the truck harness, black with a white line, and two orange wires... one may have had a black stripe. All others were connected. Do I have to get power off of a wire from the ignition switch or did I not connect one I should have?

View 1 RepliesLooking for the wiring diagram for the steering wheel controls for the head unit, mainly which wire is volume. I bought a new head unit for my 04 f150 truck and cant find the wiring diagram online to figure it out. I know there are 3 separate connections.
1 main one for power, gnd, ant, speakers, etc..
1 for the subwoofer if your truck came with it which mine did.
1 for the steering wheel controls if your truck came with it which mine did.
I want to know what the different color wires are connected to on the steering wheel control connection. i have had no luck searching online for about an hour. I know I could buy an adapter but really only want the volume to work and figured if I could just tap into that one wire and connect it to my new head unit.
If I take out the stock non audiophile head unit will I lose the reverse sensor functions?
View 1 RepliesYesterday everything worked. This morning nothing. Screen seems to be functioning but no sound comes through the speakers. No sound from radio, CD, nav, blue tooth, nothing. Mute is not on, checked that. When I got to work, I shut the car off, took out the key and re-started hoping it would reboot or something but no.
View 3 RepliesI picked up a 1999 F-250 Super Duty with the extended cab (not the full crew cab), and have been working on restoring, upgrading, and improving it. It is in great mechanical shape, but needed cosmetic work, replacement of the mirrors and some lenses, and updating to modern tech. I've got all the key wiring in place to install a new in-dash PC head unit with backup camera and a new sub and amp to improve the audio. The problem I'm working on right now is that the head unit is a bit too deep for the double-din slot in the dash.
I could let it stick out 1.5-2" or so and trim it out, but to be honest, I'm not keen on that at all. I think it looks terrible, and I've gone to a ton of trouble already for a nice clean, sleek install and would like to keep it that way.
I've also looked and whether the screen might be divorced from the main body, or the chassis shortened, but neither of those is going to work.
I've considered that there may be someone who makes custom dashes that stick out further for situations like this, effectively deepening the stereo pocket by adding space at the front. If there is though, I can't find them.
Finally, and what seems the most likely, is that I would need to modify/reroute the air duct, and notch out the steel tube at the back of the cavity, to gain an extra 2-3" of depth.
What is the location of the amp for the JBL head unit? Is it directly behind the unit in the dash or someplace else? Someone said it's underneath the passenger seat, but I don't see anything there.

View 2 RepliesSo yesterday i was installing my new JVC Headunit, after taking ages to take of the dash so i can remove the old radio i plugged in the new one and all the lights and everything worked... Then later after putting the dash back and plugging in the head unit the lights came on for 1 second and then it wwent off. The clock isn't working now, when i plug in the headunit you can hear it starting up but there is no light or anything coming on, and also the side mirror controls don't work... I'm thinking possibly one of the fuses may have blown but i don't have a clue where the fuseboxes are, how to get to them and which one i should be looking at.
