The leather on my steering wheel is showing a lot of wear so I will be needing a new one soon. I was curious if the new F250 steering wheels would fit a 2005 EX? I like the style of 2009, 2010 & 2011 much better that the stock wheel in 2005.
View 14 RepliesI am having over-heating problems. The rad fans will not come on unless I turn on the AC and everything is well. I did reluctantly replace the temp sensor and that solve nothing. I believe it's the ecu not activating the fan relays.
I can get my hands on a 2003 ECU will it work in my 2005 or does have to be flashed to the vin#.
Ok so I'm looking at two trucks. One is a 02 f250 extended cab lariat 7.3 270,000 mi the other is a 05 f250 extended cab lariat 6.0 150,000 mi. The 6.0 has been bulletproofed by a reputable power stroke mechanic. I like them both iv never had a 6.0 always 7.3 ....

View 7 RepliesI have my 2005 F-250 6.0L Powerstroke. Thing is, I have this issue where when I turn the wheel at a dead stop or at low speeds. I get this weird feedback in my steering wheel of a shaky vibration, like it's skipping. And frankly, feels like the whole cab is shaking. I've replaced the power steering pump, and tightened the steering box. What could it be?

The splines and everything match up but the plug for the cruise control does not, need a wiring diagram or have done the swap and can tell me what wires connect where.

View 14 RepliesI have driven my Venza V6 AWD for 1500 miles now. A lot of people commented the electric power steering feels numb.
When I am braking slowly (or lightly) to a stop because of a red light, I feel the steering wheel is kind of locked up and harder to steer compared to other Toyota I have driven (this is my fourth Toyota). When my steering wheel is not at exact 12:00 position (a few degrees off for example), I feel the tendency of the car move off from straight a head and I have to use a bit of force (more than the usual effortless power steering) to steer it straight. I am not sure if this is a normal behaviour or so called numbness of the Venza electric power steering or it is an alignment issue that needs to be corrected.
I blew the 4.2 v6 in my 01 f150 and I am looking for a replacement. I need to know what year model engines will fit my 01. The junk yard says he has an 08 and swears it is the same motor and will fit....

View 13 RepliesI have a 2009 Corolla LE. I've had these issues since buying the car last year. Issue #1 : when initially accelerating from a stop through 1st and 2nd gears, there's a slight vibration felt through the steering wheel and vehicle. If it's just a gentle acceleration it typically doesn't aggravate the issue as much as a quicker acceleration. Issue #2 : This car is very sensitive to varying types of road conditions. One patch of road can seem smooth as silk. Then another patch will feel rough and bumpy. The road appears to have no bumps or imperfections. I just put brand new tires on the other day, and its still doing this. And I feel all of the road imperfections the most through the steering wheel. I'll briefly take my hands off the steering wheel to see if I feel it in the cabin, and its not as bad as it is through the steering wheel.

View 18 RepliesI'm stuck failing a vehicle inspection for the steering wheel not returning to center after a turn. It turns most of the way back but you definitely have to finish the job yourself. I've jacked it up and turn the wheel lock to lock with no bind at all, one finger, nice and smooth. I've replaced almost everything up front (ball joints, u-joints, bearings, drag link both ends, etc.).
Mechanic that did the inspection seems to think the steering gearbox and/or the power steering pump could be the source. I have only seen threads for loose/wandering steering (which is why I replaced everything up front already) pointing to the gearbox. I brought the state trooper in to verify it and he said while he wouldn't necessarily fail it, he can't override the mech's call because it does require assistance to straighten out.
We have the 6.8 4x4 2001. Mostly use it for towing 6K #. Bought 2 years ago. Front and rear brakes were new and all 4 rotors were machined at Ford dealership prior to purchase. Have put on 13,000 miles since then, majority towing.

View 11 RepliesOn my way home from work I was turning a corner and felt a pop / clunk from the front end through the steering wheel, and the steering wheel was no longer centered going in a straight line.
With the truck not moving, when I turn the wheel left and right, I can hear and feel a pop / clunk through the steering wheel. I'm assuming this is a ball joint failure?
How many have had luck and results adjusting there steering box.I ajusted mine and it corrected the bad wandering proplem. I just hope this will last.
