This squeaking/squealing noise only happens when letting off the gas after accelerating 70%+ throttle. Quickly letting off the gas after revving up makes the noise . It sounds like it comes from under the drivers side door, and does NOT sound like a turbo. Its a creaky/squeaking noise.
Wont happen in park, does happen in 2wd or 4wd, on highway or in city. [URL] ....
I don't remember exactly when it started, but now if I turn the wheel it has a loud squeaking/squealing sound. Once I am going over 10mph I don't hear it (probably just don't over the road noise and sound of my truck), but turning into a parking spot it is super loud. What it could be? I have modded B and modded V codes, with 285/75/16 Michelin all terrains. I had that setup for a good 4 months without it squeaking.
View 3 RepliesI have a 2004 Ford Escape Limited. There is a squealing noise when I accelerate from a complete stop. It's not there constantly, and seems to have started when I started using the AC. When I had my oil changed tonight at a Tires Plus, I asked them to listen, and the mechanic thought it was a valve related issue since it's not a constant noise. He only got it to squeal by hitting the gas really hard. He said to take it to a dealer...which is super expensive!
View 11 RepliesI have a 2010 Honda Civic with about 67,000 kms. There's a mechanical squealing noise that's started over the last week when I accelerate and turn. It's coming from all 4 wheel areas. It only seems to disappear when I brake. Although if I run/accelerate the car for longer than 5 mins, it disappears as well. Additionally, there's a stretching/groaning noise from the tire area when I reverse. I'm thinking it's probably shock or suspension related.
View 3 RepliesI am now getting a random 'whirring' or 'squealing' noise from the front. When it starts, I feel some vibration in the steering wheel and floorboard and for sure can hear it. Starts on it own at random, sometimes when I hit a bump in the road. Stops at random, sometimes when hitting a bump in the road. Lasts for different lengths of time. Always stops when coming to a stop at about ~15 mph. Seems to change pitch ever so slightly if turning when it is 'whirring' or 'squealing'.

View 3 RepliesI have a 2005 yukon xl with 55000 miles and it makes a squeaking noise when accelerating. When u let off the gas it goes away. If u r in the driveway and let it roll it will make it. It doesn't do it when u put it up on jack stands and have all 4 wheels off the ground. It sounds like it is coming from the middle of the vehicle.
View 1 RepliesI bought a 2012 Hyundai Accent GLS just two days ago. It has about 38,000 miles on it. It's an automatic as well. I drove it home on the highway and was averaging about 44 mpg the entire time. Even while driving in town, it's got pretty good fuel economy. Everything about the car is great.
However, last night, I was driving around. When I came to a stop at a stop sign/red light/etc. and then proceeded to accelerate, I would hear this weird squeaking / creaking sound. I've heard it multiple times now since then. It doesn't do it every single time I accelerate, but when it does, it lasts for about 3 seconds and then stops. I've also noticed it does it sometimes when I make a turn and then accelerate. It's just a squeaking sound.
Is this something I should be concerned about? It doesn't do it every single time I accelerate, but when it does, it will last for about 3 seconds. I should also note that the car made the noise the first night after I had been driving for a while, so the engine wasn't cold or anything.
Just picked up an 01 Excursion V10 for $2900 with 170k on the odometer. Has some damage on the left quarter panel, but it runs perfectly.
Since I bought it, there has been a squeaking noise that I could feel underneath the driver's side floorboard. I figured it was body mounts. To find out if that was the case, I first sprayed both the sway bar bushings and the body mounts with some oil. The noise went away, but came back the next day.
The second time, I sprayed only the body mounts, and again the noise went away, only to return again. Aside from which, the sway bar bushings look like they were installed very recently.
So, it's the body mounts, but I've come across threads here and elsewhere that these were a common issue, but I haven't seen a fix for them. I assume new mounts would eventually develop the same noise.
What am I looking at here? Just some new mounts or do I need to do something else?
I've got a pretty nasty driveline clunk when going over 40mph and letting off and reapplying the accelerator. The way I'd describe it is: when I let off, it feels like something clunks forward, and when I get back on it, it feels like it clunks backwards.
So far I've had the U-joints replaced, replaced the tranny mount, greased the slip-yolk several times, and just changed the rear diff oil (and found no broken teeth or excessive wear in the gears) and it still does it.

5" RC Lift (but the clunking was present before the lift)
2001 v10 ... I have a thumping noise under acceleration... also hear it if brake torquing.. i do not hear the sound if in park or neutral...while riding down road the sound goes away when you let of the gas. Torque converter has been replaced.... exhaust manifold bolts are ok too. Been to 3 places and no one can seem to pin point it or no where to begin.
View 6 RepliesI have a ticking noise that seems to be coming from the drivers side of the engine. 2000 Excursion. It only happens when accelerating in every gear between 1400-2100. No noise at idle or park. Same noise when cold or warm, again only when accelerating. Goes away when you take your foot off gas. New exhaust studs, exhaust does not seem to be leaking, no carbon build up anywhere. No engine codes. Truck runs great and no loss of power. V10 with 120 k on it. Really annoying.
View 14 RepliesBack again.. I just replaced the HPOP and IPR valve on my truck a few weeks ago. While the turbo was out I cleaned it and applied a small amount of anti seize on the unison ring. When installing the turbo I had moved the y-pipe a little to get the turbo in place. About a week after it was running again I started to get a squealing noise under acceleration. The noise isn't a whistle like the turbo but an actual squeal. Its a little bit louder than the turbo whistle. If I am in park and rev the engine it doesn't happen. It only happens when I accelerate and seems to be when there is boost. If I let off the gas pedal the noise stops. I don't have an issue with making boost. I did replace the turbo boot when it was apart a few weeks ago so I don't think that is the problem I checked the y-pipe clamp and down-pipe clamp and both are fine. I replaced the serpentine belt this past weekend and checked all pulleys, they were all very good with no play. Another thing, the pitch of the noise seems to change with rpm's too. What could be causing this type of noise?
View 14 RepliesI have a 1993 Saturn with very low mileage (roughly 36,000 original miles) that I inherited from my grandma about 5 years ago. Early in the summer (May/June), when I would turn the a/c on, I started hearing a low squeaking/squealing sound when I would come to a stop. When I would start moving, turn off the a/c, put the car in neutral/park, it would go away. Over the past few months, I have noticed the squeaking/squealing getting louder and more so at night when the lights are on and during the day when there is a lot of moisture in the air and it really squeals loud every so often when I start moving from a stop until I hit around 2000 rpm.
The car idles at around 500 rpm and that is when I notice the noise the most. I have checked the belt and it appears to be in good shape (no cracking or fraying, it appears to be dry) and the tension appears to be good and when I got the oil changed last month, the guys at the Valvoline Quick Lube said it looked good as well. With the noise coming more often at night when the lights are on (or during the day when it is raining and I have the lights on), I have thought about taking the alternator off and getting it checked at the local parts store to see if when it gets put under load, it squeals there and to see if it is functioning properly. Could it be the alternator or something else, like the belt?
A few months ago I did some work to my rear wheels. I replaced the drums, shoes, springs, etc., and (though this probably isn't important) the strut assemblies. All is well. Within the last few weeks, my right rear wheel has been squeaking and squealing when I brake and just today it is so bad I am afraid to drive it. It even started to squeak (just slightly) while I drive after I let off the brakes. I just pulled the drum off and it all looked fine. I did not see any metal rubbing the drum nor did I see any unusual wear on the shoes. What the noise could be?

The axle nut may have been somewhat over torqued but nothing crazy over the spec.
Everything else is as per spec.
My problem is that every time I turn left slow fast sharp not sharp it's making this good awful noise.
It is not a constant squealing. It's every rotation. On off on off on off. No bearing humming or anything when driving straight or turning right. Just left. I'm pretty good at solving pretty well anything with my gti but this one has me stumped

For the past week or so, I've noticed that if my car has been stood for a while (say overnight or whilst at work) I have quite an annoying squeak/squeal when I'm initially accelerating or even coasting within the first couple minutes of driving. If I step on the breaks or speed up, it'll go and most of the time it's then gone for the duration of the drive. Aside from the fact it's highly embarrassing to have everyone stare at my car as I drive away, I'm also extremely worried it's insight into a big problem. What it could be?
View 6 RepliesI think I have a stuck/sticky caliper. I am getting some squealing while under way after braking. It will fade away after a little while, but it it's bad enough where a friend left a message saying he could hear me coming...
I am also getting a shudder when braking at certain speeds (from @ 20-30 mph).
I replaced my front rotors @ 40k miles/4 yrs ago w/ PowerSlot Cryo's & Hawks LTS pads on all 4 wheels. I greased the pins at the time on the original calipers ('04 4wd 6.0 X w/ 105k miles now). The brakes have been great since, but the squealing/shudder started this spring.
Is it likely I need to replace the whole caliper, or can I get away with a pin kit? I want to order all the parts and be ready to do a weekend job.
Could the shudder be from the caliper, or is it likely i need to turn the front rotors? I'm planning to put new rear rotors on & new Hawk LTS pads all around again at the same time as dealing with the caliper. What rear rotors &/or calipers to get? I'd like to spend a bit less on the rear rotors vs the Powerslots.
I have determined that I need to replace the Passenger side Universal Joint I got all 4 wheels off the ground and ran it and if you turn the wheel the passenger one Locks and will not budge. But besides that when I am driving strait I get a squealing Barking sound every now and then. If I engage the 4X4 it goes away. I thought it was a bearing but they spin freely and have no play in them at all.

2005 ford f250 6.0 Started making this noise from front about a month ago, can't figure out what it is. Only happens when letting off accelerator or changing from P - D. The truck acts normal, seems to be louder when the truck is warm.
