Looking to install rear sway bar on 2001 Ex. and noticed a skid plate looking thing in front of passenger side rear shock. Two questions:
1. What is that, and
2. Do I need to remove it to put on sway Bar?
Any trick that they have used before for removing the Front Passenger Shock Top Nut without removing the A/C Accumulator? The Nut I need to remove is right underneath the A/C Accumulator and I can't get a 15mm Deep Socket on the nut so that I can use an air tool to take off the nut like I did on the Driver side. Is my only option to use a 15mm ratcheting box end wrench or remove the accumulator? On AllData, they show the pics of the Driver Side which is easy to access with just a swivel and a couple of extensions.
View 1 RepliesI recently broke my rear shock mount plate, it is rusted to crap. So I need to fix it, I was gonna weld it but there isn't enough metal to weld. It looks like it can bolt in bolt out. I am having trouble find a replacement.
View 3 RepliesOn my 2003 Excursion 7.3L, I notticed I'm leaking what I think is coolant from the passenger side rear hard line by the front spring hanger. I haven't pealed the plastic loom away yet, but I did see the loom is chaffed near the spring hanger. What lines are the ones that carry coolant, and can I just cut the hard lines and replace with a section of rubber hose?

View 7 RepliesI've noticed quite a few threads looking for the shock bolts lately. I've replaced one of mine and just had another break. Today I ordered replacements for all 4 nuts and bolts.
The Bolt part number is - N605906-S2
The Nut Part Number is - N803714-S426
Rear passenger's side window doesn't work, everything else is OK so its not the fuse, switch, or lockout.
View 5 RepliesGot home from work last night, passengers side rear wheel was smoking, and damn hot to the touch. Drivers side rear was hot, but not as bad as passenger's side.
My first thought was worst case sceneries - wheel bearings. After getting it in the air, in neutral, I can turn the wheels, but, it takes a lot of effort. There's no grinding noises, but, it sounds like a brake is in constant contact.
I'm in the process of taking both wheels off, but, I'm leaning towards either the brakes/calipers or the ebrake dragging. It definitely smells like hot brakes, and not diff fluid.
The passenger side rear door will not open. I've tried from the outside handle, inside handle, jerking, pushing, etc. Nothing.
How in the world can I find out and fix the problem if I can't get the door open to get the door panel off??? And yes, I've tried unlocking it...
My passenger side rear window will not open. Is there a fuse for this or is the motor just bad?
View 3 RepliesI have a problem with my 2005 Prius ABS Skid plate module. It was defective and I replaced it with a unit from a 2007 car. The brakes work perfect now but I cannot get the warning lights to go off. The codes that come up on the computer are codes which indicate a loss of communication between other modules.

I was told roof rack so i removed cleaned and resealed all bolts around wholes with silicone. Rain today an still have water coming in? See rite on edge of headliner gets wet. How hard is it to remove headliner? Maybe not all way out but could drop enough to see whats going on in rear compartment. Its a 2002 xlt...
View 12 RepliesWell, I had a friend put together my front brake rotor, now no more pulsating when coming to a stop, very smooth stop, new front brakes, had it aligned as well.. Also replaced the front shocks, however the passenger side came loose and rattles when going over bumps, speed bumps. I popped the hood, bounced my truck and could see it moving from left to right when bouncing front end of truck.
Question is, can i tighten it up myself, I dont have a jack, limited tools, I know, I know but i dont at the moment. My friend that worked on my truck lives a good drive and i hate to waste gas just for tightening something that should have been done but i have too, I will..
Its been awhile since I have been on. Everything has been running great for me until I found my passenger side front axle leaking fluid. I'm sure something has been posted on here but I have limited access to internet right now and need to know what I am getting into to change the seals. From what I have found there is an inner seal in the pumpkin and then an outer seal and dust cover. Are both of these easy to change? Are there any special tools needed? Do I need to remove the gears in the pumpkin? If so, is this difficult and any special tools required for this?
Mine is a 2001 V10-6.8, 4x4 no mods at this point.
2005 4wd excursion. I have a leaking rear seal on passenger side.
I have the hub assembly off. I'm down to the spindle. My old seal came out in pieces. There's either a piece of the old seal or another seal on the back of the spindle.
Are there two seals? This what looks like a seal still on the spindle against the plate on the back...
I have an 09. I heard a rattle on a rough road and crawled underneath the engine. The right front skid plate bolt is missing. What size bolt belongs there.
View 2 RepliesI installed a new engine in my pre runner. upon completion and a thorough check of fluids connections and such we lite it off ran beautiful and everything seemed to function.Put the hood back on and installed the skid plates and got ready to pull it out of the garage that's when things went pear shaped!!!My son fired it up it ran for a few seconds then shut its self off. the idiot lights would stay on even after you turn off the key and remove it.
Put the key back in turn it to run but not to start position and that will reset everything. the only thing un effected is the door lights. if the key is in it you can step on the brake and the ac clutch comes in and everything goes goofy. turn the key off then back on and try any function be it headlights ac brakes pedal or attempting to start and it goes all goofy. Where to start looking. Ran great for an hour before all of this started.
2003 Limited 6.0 130K. Just took a 1000 mile trip for spring break. While away, I noticed a small leak near the front passenger side of the truck. It is red so I assumed it was transmission fluid. It is leaking from, the best I can describe, a small housing that looks like it might be a filter near the tire (it looks like the old style canister oil filter housings). All the hoses are clean and where the hoses go into the radiator are clean. Is this an easy fix? I am a bit worried about trying to get the thing off without damaging the hoses.
View 3 RepliesMy father in law has an 04 EX with the 5.4. It has a weird sound coming from the front passenger side. He listened to the jiffy lube kid who told him it was the brakes. I pulled one side completely apart tonight and the brakes are fine. We took it for a drive so I could hear the noise. It is coming from the passenger side up front. It is intermittent.
Doesn't matter if we hit a bump or pot hole. It sounds like a cat being run over. It will either last for a few seconds or just really quick. I crawled underneath and could not find anything loose. The first time I heard it I thought it was a shock. But the second time it was way too long to be a shock. And they are only a year old.
Secondly, it has a cat, and two mufflers..... Is this normal?
How to stop a squeaking front shock. It's my drivers side front shock only. The shocks are fine as far as wear and ride, it's just this squeaking (very noticeable in parking lots) that's about to drive me crazy!!
